Blue Dog Dem Notices That Obama Engages In Weird Games Of Semantics…Perhaps Even Lies

I’ve noticed Obama’s blatant dishonesty for over a year and a half, now. His pathological lying goes hand in hand with his  narcissism, which wasn’t particularly hard for an untrained eye to spot.

Now, a member of his own party can no longer deny the awful truth, as Ace reports:

By the way, a Blue Dog Democrat is basically accusing Barack Obama of lying in his big stupid primetime speech on health care.

Rep. Bart Stupak (D.-Mich.) told that President Barack Obama told him in a telephone conversation that when he said in his Sept. 9 speech to a joint session of Congress that “under our plan no federal dollars will be used to fund abortions” he was not talking about the actual bill drafted in the House but about the president’s own health care plan—which has never been written.

“I don’t know if it is a game of semantics or what,” Stupak said of Obama’s nationally televised declaration to Congress that the health-care plan will not allow federal funding of abortion.

Both the House and Senate versions of the health-care bill permit federal funds to pay for insurance plans that cover abortions.

In his speech to the joint session of Congress, Obama directly rebutted the claim that the plan would fund abortions, calling it a “misunderstanding.” But in his later telephone conversation with Stupak, according to the congressman, Obama said that when he claimed in the speech that the plan would not fund abortions he was not talking about the House plan, he was talking about his own plan.

Again, Obama never had his own plan.

Marine Of The Day: Captain Kyle VanDeGiesen

Every day throughout the Project Valour-IT fundraiser, which runs from October 26th, to November 11,  we will be  featuring a Marine (fallen heroes, active duty or retired) to honor. Today’s hero is fallen Marine, Captain Kyle VanDeGiesen:

Local boy made good, had it all, gave it all. One of 14 Americans to die in Afghanistan yesterday. Another 12 were injured. Boston Herald.

A standout local high school and college quarterback who took his game to the field of mortal combat as a Marine Corps attack helicopter pilot was killed in the service of his country yesterday.

Capt. Kyle VanDeGiesen, 29, a North Attleboro native, a husband and a father, was one of 14 Americans killed in two crashes involving three choppers in Afghanistan yesterday – the deadliest day for Americans there in four years.

See Jules Crittenden for the rest of  the story.

FL Congressman Grayson “Outstanding” According To Obama

Too funny. Politico reporter, Josh Kraushaar thought this praise was noteworthy not only because  Grayson’s clownish, overblown rhetoric is generally embarrassing to Democrats, but he has even gone so far as to insult one of Obama’s Fed Chief’s advisers:

Obama, in introducing the members of Congress in attendance, called Grayson – along with Florida Reps. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz and Kendrick Meek – as “outstanding members of Congress.”

Obama may regret his praise of Grayson, who is now drawing fire from members in both parties for referring to Linda Robertson, the adviser to Obama’s Fed Chief Ben Bernanke as a “K Street whore” in a radio interview last month. And he’s received national attention for equating GOP opposition to the Democrats’ health care plan to wanting sick seniors to “die quickly.”

MSNBC aired the audio clip of Grayson making the mortifying “K Street whore” comment, earlier today:

Another Small Poll Shows Hoffman In The Lead In New York-23

Whoops, there it is! RealClearPolitics is reporting the beginning of a trend for Hoffman, albeit, a trend arising from small conservative polls, but we’ll take it, since there aren’t any other recent polls to go by in New York-23:

Neighborhood Research polled the district for Minuteman PAC, the political arm of the Minuteman Movement, which has endorsed Hoffman and is airing ads on his behalf.

Hoffman leads Democrat Bill Owens by 5 points and GOP nominee Dede Scozzafava by 20 points.

Hoffman 34
Owens 29
Scozzafava 14
Und 23

The poll was taken Oct. 25-26 of 366 likely voters.

Meanwhile, Fred Thompson joins Sarah Palin in full-throated support for Hoffman:

Newt, sadly, is still holding out for Scozzafava, lamely trying to make the conservative case for her, on Greta, last night.

Dan Riehl examines  MN Governor Pawlenty’s Hoffman endorsement speech, and wonders if the liberal label is adequate for Obama. The Gop rejected the “Democrat Socialist” label for Democrats, earlier this year, but I think they were mistaken.  Charles Krauthammer, for one,  has been calling Obama a Social Democrat for about a year, now.

That would seem to me to be an acceptable compromise between the more red-baiting “Marxist” and “Socialist” labels being thrown around, (NTTAWWT), and the totally insufficient, “Democrat”.

See Ace for another endorsement for Hoffman, and a report from the Washington Post that the Scozzafava campaign is “imploding”, and it’s now essentially a two man race.

Via Michelle Malkin, Redstate is reporting another big endorsement for Hoffman.

Senator Jim DeMint just sent me the statement below on his support for Doug Hoffman. As one of the real leaders of the conservative movement in this country, DeMint speaks for many of us. I’m delighted he is, as he consistently does, putting principle over party in this case.

See Redstate for statement.

Project Valour-IT: Marine Corps Team Takes Early Lead

Cassandra’s report on the stats, so far:

Yesterday was a good day.

We took an early and commanding lead only to suffer a setback in the afternoon when Army got a huge donation that catapulted them into the lead. We counterattacked aggressively and by 8 pm held a very narrow lead over Army. Last last night the shock troops arrived in the form of a very generous donation for $1300 from a wonderful gentleman. As of 5 pm this morning here were the totals for each team:

Army $4120
Navy $1875
Air Force $1955
Marines $5465

We began the day with 36 blogs on the Marine team and gained 13 (!) during the day. That’s huge – big thanks to everyone who joined and to existing Marine team members for helping to spread the word.
