Video:Scozzafava Out

Woo hoo!

Thank you Dede.

The Other McCain has the scoop.

Her decision was spurred on by a new Sienna Poll which showed Hoffman at 35% and Owens is at 36%. Hoffman stands to pick up most of Scozzafava’s voters, and  is reportedly working on getting her endorsement:

Dave Weigel reports via Twitter that “Hoffman activists are heading to Scozzafava’s HQ to convince her to make an endorsement.”

  1. Remains to be seen if the GOP leadership will LEARN the lesson they’ve been given here. But let’s hope.

It’s a new world. We have new choices for communication. We have the opportunity to learn about and $upport candidates both near and far. We don’t NEED to give to the GOP, NRCC, etc and let them decide for us which candidates to support. Now granted, there is a certain efficiency to having a central, strategizing group co-ordinate nationwide efforts. (…hmmm sort of like central planning) BUT …. it is NOT worth the boon to efficiency to have them give our hard-earned donations to RINOs.

Something’s in the air, and I believe it smells like we the people be taking our power back now, thank you very much.

  4. >>I suspect that the evangelical dominance in the Republican Party will result in the party being relegated to a third party.

Interesting theory. You don’t suppose she might have lost even more support because she was essentially a liberal Democrat masquerading as a Republican? Not all that many Republicans supported Obama’s huge and misguided stimulus. Dede did. Not many Republicans support Obama’s health care plan. Dede did. Not many Republicans are endorsed repeatedly by ACORN. Dede was.

Remember when liberals took over the Democrat party and forced out “moderates” like Liberman? Did the party fold? No, it just moved farther left. The Republican party is going in the opposite direction.

This stuff happens all the time and doesn’t portend the break down of a party, just a new and in this case, old, direction.
