Krauthammer: “Political correctness is not just a moral abomination, it’s a danger”

Obama: “There are going to be instances in which an individual cracks”.

During his interview with Jake Tapper, this morning, Obama weakly tried to promote the theory that Fort Hood Jihadi, Nidal Hasan might have been suffering from a stress related disorder:

Well, look, we — we have seen, in the past, rampages of this sort. And in a country of 300 million people, there are going to be acts of violence that are inexplicable. Even within the extraordinary military that we have — and I think everybody understands how outstanding the young men and women in uniform are under the most severe stress — there are going to be instances in which an individual cracks. I think the questions that we’re asking now and we don’t have yet complete answers to is, is this an individual who’s acting in this way or is it some larger set of actors? You know, what are the motivations? Those are all questions that I think we have to ask ourselves. Until we have these answers buttoned down, I’d rather not comment on it.

Charles Krauthammer, last night on Special Report, crushed the theory of “secondary PTSS”, calling the attempts to “medicalize mass murder” a “moral scandal”:

“Political correctness is not just a moral abomination, it’s a danger”.

And now we have a President of the United States, in the face of mounting evidence to the contrary, continuing to promote a bogus theory based on political correctness.

Just great.

  3. I totally agree, here you have an army student essentially preaching to other doctors or students that suicide bombing is moral–countless noncombatants maimed and killed this way. Political correctness is a blind generalization that is paradoxically causing the same damage it purports to control. This suggests that politics is becoming emotional, even religious, to the point of no one daring to think, reason, lead, or to act as in this circumstance to say no: You are not a sane person, nor defender of the United States.

Not just the liberal wing guilty. The same perspective came to me during the economic meltdown, that the emotional righteousness of free market ideology lead us to overlook bogus loans and wild gambling speculation in the derivative or swap market that had such massive affect. It was incorrect for anyone to speak out when fraud was being committed in the loan market–common knowledge of unverified income–and that the idea of insurance swaps supporting misrepresented loans, were a form of a wider market of derivatives and pure gambling that did and still threaten our economic system.

We seam governed by the extremes of both parties. As in the Hasan case, is this the time for a teachable moment with Hasan meeting what’s left of his coworkers, to bring the falsely assumed racists to meet with their victim in a fatherly supervised conference? What victim, he preached and hated, appears joined the enemy while in our army, and killed as per their wish.
