The Obamas’ Hacky-Tacky White House Christmas Tree

Would anyone be surprised that hidden on a Christmas tree in the Obama White House are some positively hideous and tacky far left ornaments? What other result would you expect from their chosen Christmas tree decorator, designer Simon Doonon,  creative director of Barney’s New York, and  according to Capitol Confidential at Big Government, someone who  “has often caused a stir with his design choices. Like his naughty yuletide window display of Margaret Thatcher as a dowdy dominatrix and Dan Quayle as a ventriloquist’s dummy”.

So they picked a rabid left-wing partisan to decorate their Christmas tree. What could go wrong?

Well…How about this odd  ornament signed by the infamous transvestite Hedda Lettuce?

Then there’s the oh-so- festive Chairman Mao ornament.

After the controversy that erupted when it became known that former White House Spokesperson, Anita Dunn had expressed her admiration of Mao…it seems like an odd choice. Okay, even barring that…it’s an ODD CHOICE.

We all know that Obama has a healthy ego…

Yes, that’s Obama’s head mod-podged onto Mt. Rushmore.

And isn’t this cute? The “iconic” Obama/Lincoln image on another ornament:

This site reported that Michelle Obama told Oprah during the White House
Christmas special that they had sent out blank ball ornaments to “nonprofits and such” where they were decorated and sent back.

All I know is…these ornaments are tacky and inappropriate.

Since when has the White House Christmas tree been so politicized…so “cult of personality”?

I wonder if there’s a single ornament on the entire tree that represents the true meaning of Christmas.

Flashback to one year ago:

What is it about leftists that they can’t resist politicizing Christmas?

Lawmakers Only Now Finding Out ACORN Eligible For Funding In Senate HealthCare Bill

I heard about it on the radio, this morning as Michelle Bachmann informed Glenn Becks’s sub, Chris Baker about the ACORN provision, one of the eleventh hour additions made behind closed doors. These Dems are absolutely brazen. Roland Burris is claiming credit:

The provision he cites, found on pages 240 through 248 of the manager’s amendment, requires that six different agencies each establish an “Office of Minority Health.” The agencies are the “Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Health Resources and Services Administration, the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, the Food and Drug Administration, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.”…

According to a Senate legislative aide, the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now could qualify for grants under this provision. ACORN would also qualify for funding on page 150 of the underlying Reid bill, which says that “community and consumer-focused nonprofit groups” may receive grants to “conduct public education activities to raise awareness of the availability of qualified health plans.”

Earlier this year, Congress passed and the president signed into law a ban on federal funding for ACORN, but a judge ruled that that law was unconstitutional. If a higher court reverses that ruling, ACORN may be prohibited from receiving funds through the Office of Minority Health earmark. But according to the Senate legislative aide, ACORN would still “absolutely” qualify for federal funding through the provision in the underlying Reid bill because the anti-ACORN appropriations amendment would not apply to funds provided through the health care exchanges.

According to The Weekly Standard:

A spokesman for Sen. Harkin, chairman of the HELP committee, wrote in an email that he “will look into” which organizations qualify for funding under these provisions. Spokesmen for Senators Reid and Dodd did not immediately reply to emails.

No doubt the Dems are thinking about the 2010 elections which are shaping up to be a blood-bath for them. Time to activate the ground troops.

Oh. Would you take a look at this:

We Are No Longer a Nation of Laws. Senate Sets Up Requirement for Super-Majority to Ever Repeal Obamacare

If ever the people of the United States rise up and fight over passage of Obamacare, Harry Reid must be remembered as the man who sacrificed the dignity of his office for a few pieces of silver. The rules of fair play that have kept the basic integrity of the Republic alive have died with Harry Reid. Reid has slipped in a provision into the health care legislation prohibiting future Congresses from changing any regulations imposed on Americans by the Independent Medicare [note: originally referred to as “medical”] Advisory Boards, which are commonly called the “Death Panels.”

It was Reid leading the Democrats who ignored 200 years of Senate precedents to rule that Senator Sanders could withdraw his amendment while it was being read.

It was Reid leading the Democrats who has determined again and again over the past few days that hundreds of years of accumulated Senate parliamentary rulings have no bearing on the health care vote.

On December 21, 2009, however, Harry Reid sold out the Republic in toto.

Upon examination of Senator Harry Reid’s amendment to the health care legislation, Senators discovered section 3403. That section changes the rules of the United States Senate.

To change the rules of the United States Senate, there must be sixty-seven votes.

What were the American people thinking in November 2008, when we gave these maniacs full power to inflict their will on us all?

Democrats Wish Americans A Merry Christmas In Their Very Special Way

Speaker Pelosi wanted to have a health care bill passed by Christmas, as a “Christmas Present to the American people”. She managed to narrowly  pass a bill with a public option, although a clear majority of Americans oppose a public option.

Senator Reid rushed a vote in the dead of night in the middle of a snowstorm to close debate on the most important piece of legislation of our time — the nationalization of the U.S. health care system, 1/6th of the economy, before most Senators had even had a chance to read it,  so he could pass the unpopular Senate bill by Christmas.

Let’s bring this long and vigorous debate to an end. Happy Holidays.
