Racial Slurs Hurled By AT Tea Partiers

Unfortunately these particular types of slurs are tacitly approved of by the left:

They’ve been called Oreos, traitors and Uncle Toms, and are used to having to defend their values. Now black conservatives are really taking heat for their involvement in the mostly white tea party movement—and for having the audacity to oppose the policies of the nation’s first black president.

“I’ve been told I hate myself. I’ve been called an Uncle Tom. I’ve been told I’m a spook at the door,” said Timothy F. Johnson, chairman of the Frederick Douglass Foundation, a group of black conservatives who support free market principles and limited government.

“Black Republicans find themselves always having to prove who they are. Because the assumption is the Republican Party is for whites and the Democratic Party is for blacks,” he said.

Johnson and other black conservatives say they were drawn to the tea party movement because of what they consider its commonsense fiscal values of controlled spending, less taxes and smaller government. The fact that they’re black—or that most tea partyers are white—should have nothing to do with it, they say.

Read the whole thing…I never thought I’d say this, but kudos to the AP for running a story that goes so violently against the media narrative.

  1. 1. Racism was once well understood as the conviction that a racial difference gave one group more rights than another — for example, that Caucasians had rights that Negroes do not (including the right to abuse Negroes). In that sense, the accusation of racism has always been a political pejorative, though it could have an objective basis. But the modern use of “racism!” as a cry with which to prevent the discussion of policy differences is something quite different and far worse.
Note that left-liberals, the majority of whom favor race-based policies such as preferential admissions to colleges and racial set-asides in government contracting, bridle at being called racists, though they plainly are such. In their world view, racism is okay when it’s put to their preferred ends, and they don’t want any backtalk about it.
The cat comes out of the bag with the accusations of racism against black conservatives such as Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, and Ward Connerly. These men oppose race-based policies; they want the race-blind politics that Martin Luther King advocated. But the race-hustlers of the Left are unwilling that we should have that; there’s way too much money and far too many votes to be had in perpetuating the canard that “whitey” is the reason for “the black man’s troubles.”
The media’s treatment of crimes that contradict the Left’s preferred racial narrative is quite revealing as well. (Remember the Duke Lacrosse scandal?) If there’s a better moral reason to eject the Left from power forever, it escapes me at this hour.

  2. Free market does not solve everything. It could never solve the health care crisis, because of many reason to complex for this forum. Plus free market is hardly equitable when the players are not equally solvent. When one party had over two hundred years of “free labor”, then that is hardly ‘free market”. Just have Sowell, Williams, and/or Connerly take a walk thru the Bronx, Mississippi, or any Native American reservation asnd ask them how “free market principles” have help them.

I’d be more inclined to ask them how their chronic dependencies on the scraps the Democrats throw them have worked out.

Pointing out the utter ruin of Democrat run neighborhoods hardly makes any sort of case against free market principles. It does, however, make a strong case against the ruin of bureaucrat run welfare.

Ethnic groups aren’t really all that “free” to make up their own minds and turn away from the culture of victimhood that is perpetuated by the Democrats. The slurs brought to light in this article clearly illustrate the unashamed political bigotry that is used by the left to enslave minority voters and discourage them from thinking as individuals.

  5. This story is fake. Everyone knows that there are no black Tea-Partiers, on account of the fact that the Tea Party is racist.

  6. When I was in the service and told “lifers” I planned to leave after four years, some were appalled. How could anyone survive away from an authoritarian society which took care of most of their needs? Over time, people lose their desire to choose freedom over security.

The slow process of turning us into dependents of the federal government is akin to the domestication of animals. Cattle and dogs are happy aren’t they?

  8. Here is an add for the Tea Party Movement or Republican Party:
On one side an outline map of the US with multiracial and cultural faces: ” This the Tea Party Movement–We are All Americans ” On the other side the same outline map showing class differences, ( this is the upper calss –the rich, the middle and poor ). Then racial differnces: White, black, brown, red whatever-blue, green Then the sexual orientation differences: Straight, gay, lesbia, trangender, transexual;,transunion, transprotation. and the Question: Which America do want ?

  9. The one thing you failed to mention in this article is what the black teapartiers feel about the racial slurs and undertones of his movement. Fiscal responsibility is an honest argument, but we all know that the racist fringe is the foundation (at least the loudest) of this movement. Fiscal consevatism is being used to vent racial frustrations. Ask them if they think Obama was born in US. Ask them if they think he is a terrorist. Where was the teaparty when Bush gave taxcuts to the richest americans? Where were they when W spent billions of tax dollars & thousands of lives daily in Cheney’s Irag (oilhog) war?

  11. The one thing you failed to mention in this article is what the black teapartiers feel about the racial slurs and undertones of his movement.

What racial slurs are you talking about? The ones that were alleged on March 20, but never proven, even with all the video-taping that was going on?

A very small percentage of tea partiers would be birthers, which is neither here nor there – it’s not a race issue. Even more people question his concealment of travel, college, and medical records. None of this has anything to do with race. It’s about transparency.

Bush’s tax cuts helped everybody. You’ll see what I mean when they’re allowed to expire. Obama has no idea how a healthy economy works. He has no idea how real jobs are created. (Hint: punishing the rich doesn’t help).

As for the war…I’d reckon most tea partiers supported it. I did/do. Obama’s spending will soon eclipse Bush’s war spending.

Although conservatives often chided Bush for being a big spender, in terms of scale, Obama blows Bush out of the water. On this there can be no debate.

  12. It’s interesting how detractors not only fail to condemn the racist slurs aimed at conservative blacks, but even make attempts to excuse them.

One side tries it’s best to be colorblind.
The other side can only see our differences, and constantly tries to use them as a political wedge.

    It’s pathetic.

That’s because they have spent decades dividing, and now that they have reached the top, it is still the only play in their playbook, and for all the invocation of Lincoln, they never could grok the idea that a nation divided against itself cannot stand.

Their idea of unity and common good is for those who oppose their plans to shut up.

  14. buckjohnson maybe you’d better study up on “free market principles” before you start yapping about them. The very argument you use against them is precisely why they work. It is government welfare that has destoryed both the Bronx and Native American Indian reservations (not sure why you threw in Mississippi…probably because of your bigotry against the south). There is no “free market principles” at work in either of your examples. If there was, I am sure they would be in much better shape.

  17. An obvious Democrat rube:

Free market does not solve everything. It could never solve the health care crisis, because of many reason to complex for this forum. Plus free market is hardly equitable when the players are not equally solvent.

The free market is not equitable because men and women are not equitable. Those of us with a brain, a degree of independent thought, some backbone, and aren’t too frightened to live without nanny are doing just fine. And we do that we a leech or two hanging off our ankles, usually with a Hope & Change button pinned to their chest.

When one party had over two hundred years of “free labor”, then that is hardly ‘free market”

What party would that be? 🙄

If these “folks” would work half as hard actually trying to accomplish something of worth, instead of spending countless hours playing victim and dreaming up excuses for their personal weakness, they might actually make it without being the benefactor of hand outs.

  18. The party that fought to KEEP slavery was the southern Democratic party. The party that was specifically started to ABOLISH slavery was the Republican party. The Republican party replaced the Whig party before Abraham Lincoln became president. Abraham Lincoln was a Whig who became a Republican. It was started anti-slavery expansion activists in 1854 and came to power in 1860 with the election of Abraham Lincoln, who (as everybody knows) was also against slavery.
Even in the mid 1900’s, the Democrats were fighting to keep segregation of the races. Now, suddenly, they are the party against racism?? I think not. They are only serving their own purposes by making minorities dependent on the government so that they can’t/won’t think for themselves. They say, “Don’t worry about a thing. We’ll take care of you because we KNOW you can’t take care of yourselves.” Why do you think the Watts riots happened? Too many people became dependent on the welfare of our government and, when their checks didn’t come in the mail on time, they decided to show their anger through violence.
