Any Stupid Signs You See Tomorrow at Your Local Tea Parties Will Be This Guy’s Fault

Jason Levin, Schmuck

The clown who’s behind the national “Crash The Tea Party” campaign  is not only an up and coming community organizer, but an aspiring comedian, to boot, having said this about himself on his MySpace page:

As a black lesbian trapped in the body of a straight white man, I am able to pass as a member of the establishment wile still maintaining my oneness with the spirit of the Earf Muvah. I’m currently being sued by my inner child for molestation…but trust me, the charges are baseless.”

I’ll pause until the laughter dies down….

What more:

Levin told the AP Monday, he “had over 65 leaders in major cities across the country trying to recruit members to infiltrate tea party events for April 15.”

The mission of crashtheteaparty.org is simple. “Infiltrate and dismantle” the movement from the inside out.  The group’s strategy is to impersonate tea party supporters and portray them as right-wing extremists in front of the news cameras in order to discredit the cause. The biggest Tax Day Tea Party takes place in Washington DC on April 15th.

Levin went on to say “Every time we have someone on camera saying that Barack Obama isn’t an American citizen, we want someone sitting next to him saying, ‘That’s right, he’s an alien from outer space!'” Levin also did not shy away his prior accusations that most tea party supporters are “racists, morons, and homophobes.”

I think there are going to be a lot of disoriented and disillusioned lefties out there, tomorrow, because very few tea partiers fit the stereotypes they want to paint us with.

But the cool part is, every stupid, ignorant thing captured on film, tomorrow, whether it’s a result of their efforts, or not, can be effectively blamed on noted crackpot, Jason Levin.

Thanks, Jason!

  1. ah deb. It’s not like you think. He’s just a creative guy playing a prank. He doesn’t have 65 leaders in major cities. It’s way less than that.

I don’t think that much will happen. Maybe some rabble-rousing, but we’ll see.

  2. Unfortunately, I attended a countywide “town hall” meeting last summer in Washington State and was very disappointed to see
plenty of racist and ignorant signs. I actually felt like crying.
And I assure you that these were local county folks and not “outsiders” coming to stir things up.
There was only our local paper there to cover the event.

  3. I went to a town hall meeting in Washington State last summer and there wasn’t one sign there. Tea Party rallies attract signs more. But if they stage a rally, then I guess they bring signage. What did the signs say?

  4. That one Jesus freak in my vid may be a gov’t operative. He seems a little shady to me. I think he or his group picket at Walmart. Anti-gay stuff and Repent kind of stuff. geesh. I sorta just write those people off as freaks.

  5. Don’t know Cathy McMorris.
No, I don’t have any documentation because I went to the meeting only as an interested party, not to document it.
And truthfully, I would have been afraid to confront some of the people there by taking photos. The only two signs I can actually remember were several groups of people holding up Obama photos doctored to make him look like Hitler, and some which made him look like a monkey.
What I vividly remember is standing in the parking lot after the town hall was over feeling really sad about what I had just witnessed. Not just the signs, but the overall tone of the people there. A man was standing next to his car and he hesitantly asked me what I thought of the event. I said that it upset me. He agreed, and we talked for a few minutes about what we had seen and what it might mean for the future. People mad and upset, but not for the right reasons. People easily led into hating and hatefulness.
There are plenty of things about the government to be upset about, but not much at this meeting made me very proud.
This was in western Washington and I never thought that I would see what I saw and feel what I felt. I left with the exact opposite feeling that I had expected.

Meh. Hitler signs are nothing – they’re as common as accusations of fascism in blog threads. Monkey signs would be more troubling, of course.

  7. Did the Obama Hitler sign look like this?

Because, those people are fringe Democrats, not typical Tea partiers, although they do make themselves very conspicuous with their signs.

Obama/monkey signs would be more rare – and is as wrong as it was when lefties did it to Bush.

As for the troubling – whatever – rhetoric you allegedly heard: People’s emotions are very much on edge, these days as they watch what they see as a far left extremist administration systematically destroy the country. It’s hard to be civil about it. It’s not “ignorance”, it’s emotion.

  8. Grok, sorry if I questioned you yesterday. You seem sincere. I would be upset too. There are all sorts of extremists amongst us and town hall meetings are open to everyone. As soon as we all admit that there is hatred and fear on both sides, maybe we can work together on the problem. Huh. Maybe in another lifetime…
