It’s all happening about 10 minutes away from my house. Yeah, of course, I’m going, are you kidding me?

Gateway Pundit also reports something about a buycott being promoted at the conference?:

Patriots Launch a National Campaign in Solidarity with Arizona Calling for a BUYcott of the Grand Canyon State

UPDATE: Buycott organizers will have an update Saturday, at the “Winning America Back” conference in Kansas City, MO – Featured speakers include Sarah Palin and Fred Thompson.

Dateline: Phoenix, AZ: While protestors have launched a sit in calling on the Governor to veto the bill launching the Country’s first major state enforcement efforts on illegal immigration, protesters like Al Sharpton are asking for a Boycott of the State.
In response, Patriot groups around the country want to support the rights of the people of Arizona and are calling for a BUYcott of the State.

I lived in Arizona for about a year…loved their pistachios.

Unconscionable

For almost a week, now, Obama has been blasting the new immigration law in Arizona that was signed by Governor Jan Brewer, calling it “poorly conceived”. On Wednesday, he repeated the popular misconception that Hispanics will be stopped and carded based on race:

“What I think is a mistake is when we start having local law enforcement officials given the power to stop people on the suspicions that they may be undocumented workers,” Obama told reporters. “That carries a great amount of risk.”

Obama has sharply criticized the law, asking the Justice Department to look into whether it violates civil rights. On Wednesday, he said he understands the frustrations of people in Arizona who are faced with thousands of immigrants coming into their state illegally, but he said the state’s new immigration law would only end up polarizing the debate over reform.

He should know better. Kris Kobach, who helped craft the bill, corrected that falsehood, among many others in his NYT oped, today:

Actually, Section 2 provides that a law enforcement official “may not solely consider race, color or national origin” in making any stops or determining immigration status. In addition, all normal Fourth Amendment protections against profiling will continue to apply. In fact, the Arizona law actually reduces the likelihood of race-based harassment by compelling police officers to contact the federal government as soon as is practicable when they suspect a person is an illegal alien, as opposed to letting them make arrests on their own assessment.

Newsbusters cited reactions from Byron York, and Andrew McCarthy , as well.

At the Corner, Andy McCarthy’s concluded:

The people who are complaining about this law almost certainly either have not read it or are demagogues who would make the same absurd claims no matter what the law said.

He’s demagoguing the issue, while Hispanic protesters riot in the streets:
and threaten to murder Americans with pick axes and shovels:

Behind Closed Doors: New Republican DEMOCRAT Ad?!

You’ve got to be kidding me.

After months of behind closed doors meetings with lobbyists to write the unwanted health care bill; it takes a certain amount of chutzpa for the Democrats to accuse the minority party of doing the same thing.

Weasel Zippers calls it “assploding hypocrisy”:

Yeah, I’d like to know who those “mysterious Wall Street executives” talking to Republicans are, myself.

I would think  that after financing the Democratic majority in 2006, and 2008,  Wall Street execs would be  sticking with the guys who actually have the power to do their bidding.  It’s not like the Dems aren’t doing their best to placate their masters.

I understand that the Alinsky method compels Dems to accuse their opponents of what they themselves do…  This ad goes above and beyond the call of duty.

Video: Obama *Really* Doesn’t Understand How Free Market Capitalism Works

Some of the most revealing glimpses into Obama’s true ideology comes when he goes off  ‘prompter. Perhaps the most striking example of this was his October/08 quip to Joe the Plumber about “spreading the wealth”. That is, until now.

Obama thinks there’s a limit to how much a person should be able to earn in this country? What does he think the cap should be? I  assuming that the government would take all monies earned that exceed what is allowed… Is he perhaps signaling  a future financial reform? Putting up a trial balloon?

Ed Morissey notes a fundamental misunderstanding Obama has of the entrepreneurial spirit, which fuels capitalism:

… the responsibility of an entrepreneur isn’t to “grow our economy,” core or otherwise. It’s to grow his own economy. In a properly regulated capitalist system, the natural tension of self-interests create economic growth through innovation and efficient use of capital and resources.

Put simply, a free people work for themselves, not for the government. Barack Obama seems to have a problem understanding that.

I really don’t care how much a person makes, as long as he’s playing by the rules. The sky should be the limit.
