Tea Party Crasher, Jason Levin Quits Teaching Job Ahead Of Getting Fired

I’m sure you remember the Oregon moonbat whose mission it was to “dismantle and demolish” the Tea Party movement. His national “Crash The Tea Party” campaign largely failed because nobody was fooled by it, although the efforts bore some fruit when dishonest lefties used video taken of infiltrators to make an anti-tea party video.

Fox News reports that Jason Levin has resigned his teaching job before getting the axe:

“He resigned earlier this week, on Monday,” Maureen Wheeler of the Beaverton School District said. “He resigned in lieu of termination.”

Wheeler said Levin learned the results of the district’s investigation and resigned. She would not comment on those investigative results.

Conestoga Middle School media lab teacher Jason Levin became national news back in April when he announced his intention to bring down the Tea Party on his “Crash the Tea Party” website and in media interviews.

The now-ex Conestoga Middle School media lab teacher said in April that he would seek to embarrass Tea Partiers by attending their rallies dressed as Adolf Hitler, carrying signs bearing racist, sexist and anti-gay epithets and acting as offensively as possible — anything short of throwing punches.

In a post on his now defunct website, Levin once called on his supporters to collect the Social Security numbers—among other personal identifying information—about as many Tea Party supporters as possible at rallies taking place across the country on Tax Day.

“Some other thoughts are to ask people at the rally to sign a petition renouncing socialism. See just how much info you can get from these folks (name address, DOB, Social Security #). The more data we can mine from the Tea Partiers, the more mayhem we can cause with it!!!!” he wrote.

Yeah, you really shouldn’t be advocating highly illegal, and unethical behavior on the internets if you want to remain gainfully employed at a public school…even in liberal Oregon.

I wonder where our failed tea party crasher goes, now? Is Media Matters hiring?

Bush Confidante, Karen Hughes weighs in on GZ Mosque

In what Karl Rove called a “Bush swoon by selected members of the left commentariat”, liberals have been begging the “Greedy, Lying, Human Rights Violating” former President to join them in full-throated support for the ground zero mosque.

While Bush’s former speechwriter Michael Gerson supports Obama’s position on the mosque, writing persuasively that the President hasno choice but the general path he took”, another key member of Bush’s inner circle has now weighed in.

Byron York at the Washington Examiner reports:

Karen Hughes, who for years was one of George W. Bush’s closest advisers, is calling on the organizers of the Ground Zero mosque to “locate their mosque elsewhere.” In an article for Sunday’s Washington Post, Hughes writes:

A mosque at the edge of Ground Zero would be much more than a house of worship; it would be a symbol, interpreted differently by different audiences. For some it would be the ultimate expression of the freedom of religion we enjoy in America; for others, a searing reminder of terrible deaths at the hands of murderers calling themselves Muslims. I suspect that the terrorists themselves might celebrate its presence as a twisted victory over our society’s freedoms. [Imam] Rauf and his congregation are certainly free to locate their mosque near Ground Zero. But I hope and pray that they will show uncommon courtesy and decide not to.

In past weeks, Lefties have been mentioning Hughes by name, as someone whose sympathies would lie in their corner:
If one were to hearken back to the halcyon days of the Bush Administration, one would remember that, when Bush adviser Karen Hughes was appointed Undersecretary of State for Public Diplomacy, the Bush Administration saw improving America’s standing among Muslims abroad as a part of its national security strategy. And, as such, Hughes set up listening tours, attended meetings and worked with interfaith groups that — shocking, by today’s Republican standards — included actual Muslims.

One of those people was Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf.

Contemporary press accounts indicate that Rauf and Hughes were part of the February 2006 U.S.-Islamic World Forum in Doha, Qatar. He was part of a delegation that met with her in March 2006 and held a joint press conference. A letter to then-Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice in November 2007 indicates that contacts with Hughes and Under Secretary for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns had continued apace.

Perhaps Karen Hughes understands that and cultural understanding, sensitivity and outreach is a two way street.

Canadian Muslim Claims Shady GZ Mosque Developer Sharif El Gamal Threatened Her

Remember Sharif El Gamal – the former waiter, now head of Soho Properties, who owns (half) the site where Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf wants to construct the $100 million “community center”/mosque?

He’s kind of a scary guy…at least according to Raheel Raza, a founding member of the Muslim Canadian Congress, who recently argued in an oped and on the O’Reilly Factor that the GZ mosque is “a deliberate provocation”.

Last week, Raza and a Canadian 9/11 widow  attended a meeting about the mosque in New York City.

“They were very arrogant. They didn’t answer questions,” Raza told QMI Agency.

The meeting was hosted by Daisy Khan, the wife of the imam promoting the mosque and Sharif El Gamal, the man whose property firm owns the land the mosque is to be built on.

Raza says she asked questions about who was financing the building, estimated to cost $100 million, and whether any of the money would come from countries other than the U.S.

There has been speculation that the mosque is being funded through Saudi Arabian sources, but at the Manhattan meeting Raza said there were no answers.

On Monday, back in Toronto, Raza says she received a call from a man who identified himself as Sharif El Gamal. “His tone was intimidating,” said Raza. “He accused me of ‘jumping into’ the meeting he called and then said ‘May Allah protect you.’ I was shocked and hung up.”

Raza says El Gamal’s tone was threatening and she took the phone call as a clear threat against her and not as some claim, a casual phrase meaning goodbye.

“Why would I need Allah’s protection?” asked Raza.

El Gamal told the Niagara Falls Review on their second attempt at an interview that “there was no phone call made by anybody” before again hanging up.

Raza insists there was a call, “I saved the number on my cell.” The number on Raza’s cellphone matches that of El Gamal’s Soho Properties offices in New York.
