Awesome: Trumka Decries Tea Party Extremism, Then Urges The Left to “Take Control Over Private Corporations “

Nothing “extreme” about this guy.

Say what???

Michelle Malkin has the heads-up:

From the AFL-CIO blog, violence-promoting labor chief Richard Trumka urged his fellow leftists to seize back power from the Tea Party movement and take back “control of the national conversation.”

More than 400 people attended the event at the Great Hall at Cooper Union. Trumka said it is vital to channel working-class anger away from Fox News and Tea Party extremists who are delivering a cynical, deeply dishonest and incoherent message—that big government is somehow to blame for the current crisis that the budget deficit will eat our children, and that illegal immigrants took all the good jobs.

However, he added, “The good news is they haven’t bought into right-wing ideology. They are just confused about who to blame.” But:

We have to offer working people something other than the dead-end choice between the failed agenda of greed and the voices of hate and division and violence

…In the short term, said Trumka, the labor movement has to “recapture the moment and take control of the national conversation.” Building for the future,

we need to fundamentally restructure our economy and re-establish popular control over the private corporations which have distorted our economy and hijacked our government. That’s a long-term job, but one we should start now.

He’s just advocating for more of that  “fundamental transformation” that’s been going over so well with the public.

Obama’s Declaration of Independence Omission Was No Accident

Some people had theorized that Obama’s omission of the word, ‘creator’ when he was citing the Declaration of Independence in a speech to the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute, Sept 15, was the result of a teleprompter snafu. That Obama wouldn’t miss a chance to pander in front of the mostly Catholic Hispanic group.

But it’s happened, again.

Terrance Jeffrey at CNS News reports:

This time the president was speaking at a Sept. 22 fundraiser for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City, and his reference to “inalienable rights” was not as close a paraphrasing of the Declaration as it had been the week before.

“And what was sustaining us was that sense that, that North Star, that sense that, you know what, if we stay true to our values, if we believe that all people are created equal and everybody is endowed with certain inalienable rights and we’re going to make those words live, and we’re going to give everybody opportunity, everybody a ladder into the middle class, every child able to go as far as their dreams will take them–if we stay true to that, then we’re going to be able to maintain the energy and the focus, the fight, the gumption to get stuff done,” Obama said at the DCCC/DSCC event, according to the transcript posted by the White House.

The Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute dinner wasn’t even the first time  Obama has omitted mention of the Creator when speaking of the “inalienable rights” cited in the Declaration of Independence. Jeffrey goes on to note other instances when Obama took that approach.

Why can’t the President bring himself to say that the rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are God-given? To his mind is it the government only that endows us with those rights?

Grass Roots Citizens Group Uncovers Rampant Voter Fraud in Houston

Not surprisingly, the SEIU was involved.

Fox News reports:

When Catherine Engelbrecht and her friends sat down and started talking politics several years ago, they soon agreed that talking wasn’t enough. They wanted to do more. So when the 2008 election came around, “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places.

“What we saw shocked us,” she said. “There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.”

Their shared experience, she says, created “True the Vote,” a citizen-based grassroots organization that began collecting publicly available voting data to prove that what they saw in their day at the polls was, indeed, happening — and that it was happening everywhere.

“It was a true Tea Party moment,” she remembers.

Like most voter watchdog groups, she said, her group started small. They decided to investigate voting fraud in general, not just at the polling places, and at first they weren’t even sure what to look for — and where to look for it.

When they came across a district that had 24,000 houses with six or more voters in it, (when the norm is 1,800 for R districts, and 2,400 for D districts), they decided to start there.

It was Houston’s poorest and predominantly black district, which has led some to accuse the group of targeting poor black areas. But Engelbrecht rejects that, saying, “It had nothing to do with politics. It was just the numbers.”

The task was overwhelming. With 1.9 million voters and 886 voting precincts, Houston’s Harris County is the second largest county in the country — and the key to Texas elections.

The group called for help and quickly got 30 donated computers and “tens of thousands of hours” of volunteer work. And then the questions started to arise.

“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters.”

Their work paid off. Two weeks ago the Harris County voter registrar took their work and the findings of his own investigation and handed them over to both the Texas secretary of state’s office and the Harris County district attorney.

Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Sean Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid.

The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

Caddle told local newspapers that there “had been mistakes made,” and he said he had fired 30 workers for filing defective voter registration applications. He could not be reached for this article.

Rest here.

The same exact M/O used by ACORN.

That’s just one district in one (red) state. I shudder to think of how widespread this problem is, especially considering how uninterested the Holder Justice Dept is, in remedying the situation.

Obama’s OFA To Join ‘One Nation’ Moonbat Convergence in DC

Excellent.

Attempting to overcome the popularity of Glenn Beck’s 8/28 rally, a group of around 300 liberal and progressive organizations have planned a rally on the National Mall this weekend. According to two new reports, Saturday’s 10/2 march — “One Nation, Working Together” — has also garnered the support of President Obama’s political organizing group as well as multiple churches.

As The Hill reports, the Democratic National Committee’s Organizing for America (OFA), which works to support and build off of Obama’s policies, sent out an e-mail blast supporting the upcoming rally. The message bills the event as “the biggest progressive demonstration in decades.”

Paging DC Republicans.….Oct 2 – lights, cameras, action! It’s Time To Start Linking Democrats To their Extremists

UPDATE:

Now we hear that NAACP and unions are giving thousands free bus rides to the moonbat rally...See Big Government for all the astroturfed goodness.
