It’s just not normal or right that there is so much government activity going on, this close to Christmas. But as it happens, the Dem Socialists need the cover of Christmas to get their dirty deeds done. So here I am, blogging, instead of finishing up my Christmas shopping….

Seton Motley has another post up about the FCC usurpation of the internet, scheduled for tomorrow, the 21st:

Big Government: Right Before It Tries To Take Over The Internet, The FCC’s Websites Are “Unavailable” Due To “Scheduled Maintenance”

As we have much discussed, the FCC has decided to power grab Internet authority on December 21st.  The Commission must seize said authority because it does not have it unless and until Congress writes a law saying so – which The Chairman himself admits Congress has not done.

The Chairman will do so via a three unelected bureaucrat Democrat Party-line vote (that’s counting him).  He intends to do so under cover of Christmas – slamming it through less than 96 hours before the Big Day.

The Chairman will do so by writing (and rewriting, and rewriting some more, and rewriting again) an 80-plus page “order” – which sounds an awful lot like he’s appropriating Congress’ job and writing law.  (Because, again, Congress has never written a law that allows him to do this.)  He is in perpetual revision mode to continue to capitulate to the demands – and induce the vote – of the FCC’s most Leftist member – Commissioner Michael Copps – driving this Web takeover to the outer limits of illegal usurpation.

More FCC news from Motley at The American spectator: Al Sharpton Helping FCC Design Rush Limbaugh ‘Free Speech’ Show Trials

…apparently the FCC is looking into warping beyond all recognition its definition of “public hearing” — with the Reverend Al Sharpton lending a hand.

Public hearings would instead be used to drag unfavorables like Rush Limbaugh before the Commission to “explain how they justify” their availing themselves of their First Amendment rights. And to threaten their stations’ broadcast licenses should they fail the FCC’s definition of “justification.”

Meanwhile, The Washington Times reports that START has lost GOP support, but Senate Democrats say they still have votes to ratify treaty.

Key Senate Republicans on Sunday announced that they do not support ratification of a U.S.-Russia arms control treaty, upsetting White House plans to win passage of the pact during the lame-duck session of the Senate.

Despite these statements, Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Senate Democratic leaders said they have the 67 votes needed to ratify the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START). Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid set the key test, ending debate and proceeding to a vote, for Tuesday.

At Big Journalism, we  find that HHS is  steering Google searches of “ObamaCare” to its propaganda site by buying a Google advertisement that directs people to its page.

“We are using a bunch of search term[s] to help point people to HealthCare.gov. Part of our online efforts to help get accurate information to people about the new law (i.e. also use Facebook, Twitter, blogs and webcasts),” an HHS official confirmed by e-mail.

Your tax dollars at work.

Speaking of propaganda, The BlogProf reports on some sickening agitprop by way of  the Governor of MI: Granholm releases propoganda video even the establishment MSM can’t stomach

Some genuinely good news for President “Miss Me Yet”: US News: Merry Christmas, Mr. Bush: ‘Decision Points’ is a big seller.

Are you kidding me, lady?: Newsbusters: Nina Totenberg: ‘I Was At – Forgive the Expression – a Christmas Party…’

You know what? If the word, “Christmas” is that distasteful to you, maybe you shouldn’t be going to Christmas parties?
Ace has this to say about Totenberg’s faux pas:

Does anyone think that Nina Totenberg, or anyone in the media or government or academy, would ever say, “I was — forgive the expression — at a gay wedding”? No, of course not; they would never give that such a slight, classifying it as an actual vulgarity.

But Christmas? To Nina Totenberg and the alien creatures who have, V-like, infiltrated and captured our key institutions, the word “Christmas” is now on par with a lower-grade racial slur.

Pigford Lawyer: Claimants “Got Away With Murder”

The President recently signed a $1.25 billion settlement to black farmers in Pigford II, which was on top of the $1 billion 1999 Settlement, (Pigford I), amid  accusations of large-scale fraud among the thousands of cases.

As Lee Stranahan of  Big Government notes, there has been a marked lack of journalistic curiosity into this matter.

The press has blindly repeated the Obama Administration’s claim that there are only a handful of fraud cases among the twenty thousand or so paid Pigford claims.  Worse, the media has helped promote the narrative that those raising concerns about fraud in Pigford are racist.

You’re about to watch a video clip where Othello Cross, an attorney for Pigford claimants with about fifteen years of experience on the case, admits that he is personally aware of hundreds of cases of fraud in the state of Arkansas alone. Furthermore, he explains how easy it was to commit that fraud and receive a $50,000 check from the government; it’s appropriate to deduce from Cross’s revealing statement that the actual number of fraudulent claims is likely much higher than the hundreds he knows about.

The good news is, the USDA  increased their estimate of Pigford fraud cases by 300%.

The bad news is that’s only an increase from their previous estimate of 3 cases to a whopping 10.

Hello? Are there any investigative journalists left in the MSM?

Report: Saudi Plan Afoot To Move Ground Zero Mosque To Another Site

A Saudi-linked Manhattan lawyer is claiming that King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia wants to move the controversial  mosque to New York’s West Village.

The Daily Telegraph reports:

Attorney Dudley Gaffin said the Saudi king might want to buy shuttered St Vincent’s Medical Centre and transfer the mosque to a new Islamic cultural center he would build on a plot at that site, sources who heard Mr Gaffin’s pitch said, according to the New York Post.

The King would also save the hospital, reopening most of the units that closed when St Vincent’s filed for bankruptcy on April 14, the sources said.

According to an unidentified source, quoted in the NY Post, the king wants to do this as a PR move:

-to save the hospital and move the mosque away from the World Trade Center site,” the source added. “He wants to show that Muslims can do good works.”

“[Gaffin is] talking about the Saudis,” said another source, a politically connected lawyer. “I don’t know if any conversations have taken place [with them].”

The cost would be at least $300 million — the combined amount that the Sisters of Charity, which owns the hospital, owes the biggest secured creditors, GE Capital and TD bank.

“He wanted to know what it would cost,” said the community leader.

Gaffin said the mosque and cultural center would likely be built in a space now occupied by a shuttered nursing facility on 12th Street, just east of Seventh Avenue.

Sources said Gaffin claimed to have broached the topic with Mayor Bloomberg and City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, but reps for both denied it.

“No one here has heard of this,” said Bloomberg spokesman Marc LaVorgna.

Keep your fingers crossed. This would be a good PR move on the part of the Saudis.

Most of all, it would a good move for 9/11 families who don’t want a mosque built on their loved ones’ grave site.
Thanks to American Power who also posted the trailer for the new short documentary, Sacrificed Survivors:

The film will include undercover footage at the mosque—Yes, the controversial mosque is already constructed and holds services every Friday. The proposal in question is to expand this facility into a 13-story, $100 million Islamic center within eye’s view of the former site of the World Trade Center.

“This film is not your ordinary story-telling documentary. It is not a film that shows people protesting and fancy speeches on the topic,” said Jason Campbell, CAN’s Projects Director.

“It is a 45-minute film that is fueled by the testimony of the survivors and the families of the victims of the attacks of September 11, 2001. It is about how they feel about the mosque being built on the site where their loved ones lost their lives,” he said.

In “Sacrificed Survivors,” CAN’s staff go undercover into the mosque so the viewer can see the prayer room that is already being used and feel like they are a part of the drama that is unfolding in New York City.
