A beautiful Celtic hymn performed by (who else!) Celtic Woman:
MORE:
Here’s Josh Groban singing his song at the 2004 Superbowl, in remembrance of the of the Space Shuttle Columbia crew. Celtic Woman’s version was beautiful, but this one makes you cry.
Thanks to No Sheeples Here for recommending it.
Lyrics:
When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
There is no life – no life without its hunger;
Each restless heart beats so imperfectly;
But when you come and I am filled with wonder,
Sometimes, I think I glimpse eternity.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up: To more than I can be.
You had mme at “Celtic Women.”

Josh Groban first introduced “You Raise Me Up” to America when he sang it at Super Bowl XXXVII to pay tribute to the crew of the Columbia Space Shuttle explosion.

Man (or is it woman), if I could sing like that, I’d be singing all the time…
I think I have a crush on all the Celtic Women. Don’t tell my wife.
