Audio:Retired WI Officer Pleads With Madison Police – “Do Your Duty!”

Earlier today, Professor Jacobson reported on an alleged police insurrection in Madison,  which  might explain why the police were nowhere to be found in Senator Glenn Grothman’s moment of need, yesterday.

This audio of the call to Talk Radio 1130 WISN host, Vicki McKenna, also posted by Jacobson, seems to confirm our suspicions that politics has been playing a role in how the Madison police have been conducting themselves:

Watch the video of Grothman getting cornered by the mob one more time. Why in God’s name, were these -frankly unhinged -protesters allowed to get so  menacingly close to a State Senator?

Remember the riot police who came out in full riot gear to intimidate tea partiers in Quincy, Il, when Obama visited the town, last year? How laughably absurd the optics were?:

The Quincy Tea Party was a threat to no one.

But these leftists in Madison are getting downright scary.

The Sheila Jackson Lee Chronicles: Tales Of Uncivil And Vitriolic Discourse

Sheila Jackson Lee, representing the 18th District of Texas, downtown Houston and a member of the Progressive Caucus, is known for being one of the most left-wing members of Congress. In fact, the latest Gov-Track political spectrum diagram has her to the left of Dem Socialist, Jan Schakowsky, (and that’s saying something).

According to the AFL-CIO, Lee has a 100 percent pro-union voting record. In 2003 she spoke at a rally in support of organized labor’s Immigrant Worker’s Freedom Ride, an effort to liken the unionizing of illegal aliens to the African-American civil rights struggle of the 1950s and 1960s.

Lee also has a 100 percent pro-choice voting record, according to the abortion-rights group NARAL Pro-Choice America. In 2003 she voted against banning the procedure commonly known as partial-birth abortion, and in 2004 she voted against a bill imposing additional criminal penalties for harming a fetus during the commission of a crime against a pregnant woman.

Among Lee’s largest campaign contributors are the American Association for Justice and the Service Employees International Union.

Lee has called for improved relations between the U.S. and Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela, which she characterizes as a friendly nation. Toward that end, she has urged the U.S. to lift its ban on selling F-16 fighter jets and spare parts to Chavez.

She’s also known for being a bit dotty –

One of Lee’s crusades as a Representative of subtropical Gulf Coast Houston has been to end what she calls the government policy of giving hurricanes “lily white” names. “All racial groups should be represented,” she told The Hill Magazine, adding that she hoped the weather establishment in future “would try to be inclusive of African American names” such as “Keisha, Jamal and Deshawn.”

***During a 2005 visit to the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in California, Lee asked whether the Mars Pathfinder had taken an image of the flag planted on Mars by Neil Armstrong in 1969. (Armstrong’s 1969 mission, of course, was to the Moon, not Mars.)

And now thanks to Jonathan Strong of The Daily Caller, we’re finding out that Lee is also known among her staffers to be an insuffrable tyrant:

The Houston Democrat addressed one of her employees as “you stupid motherf*cker.” And not just once, but “constantly,” recalls the staffer, “like, all the time.”

Another Jackson Lee aide recounts the time her parents came to Washington to visit: “They were really excited to come to the congressional office. They’re small town people, so for them it was a huge deal. They were actually sitting in the main lobby waiting area….[Jackson Lee] came out screaming at me over a scheduling change. Called me a ’stupid idiot. Don’t be a moron, you foolish girl’ and actually did this in front of my parents, of all things.”

Yet another staffer remembers requesting a meeting early on in her tenure to ask how best to serve the congresswoman. Jackson Lee’s response: “What? What did you say to me? Who are you, the Congresswoman? You haven’t been elected. You don’t set up meetings with me! I tell you! You know what? You are the most unprofessional person I have ever met in my life.” With that, Jackson Lee hung up the phone.

Capitol Hill is famous for its demanding, insensitive bosses. Yet even by the harsh standards of Congress, Sheila Jackson Lee stands out. She may be the worst boss in Washington. “It’s like being an Iraq War veteran,” says someone who worked for her. Strangers may say, “‘oh I know what you’ve been through.’ No, you really don’t. Because until you’ve experienced it…. People don’t tell the worst of the stories, because they’re really unbelievable.”

For some, a job in Jackson Lee’s office proved not just emotionally but physically perilous. One staffer recalls a frank conversation with his doctor, who told him he needed to quit. “It’s your life or your job,” the doctor told him, warning that the stress and long hours were wreaking havoc on his body.

Thank goodness we now have the “non-partisan”, National Institute For Civil Discourse to study cases just like her’s.

One Of The Fleebaggers Returns To Wisconsin (Updated)

Bringing the number of AWOL WI State Senators down to 13.

Politisite is reporting:

Breaking tonight…one of the Fleebagger AWOL Senate Democrats has returned to Wisconsin. Via Liberty Chick on Twitter:

“Democratic Senator Timothy Cullen has just returned to #WI tonite. WI-14 is now WI-13.”

Reportedly, Cullen is claiming that a deal is in the works.

Walker’s history

Supporters of Scott Walker took the opportunity this week to compare the Democrats to the governor’s record as Milwaukee County executive. Except for Sen. Tim Cullen (D-Janesville), who has reportedly said he will donate at least some of his pay for the absent days to charity, no other Democrats are on record about whether they will turn down the paychecks.

Walker’s supporters noted that Walker returned part of his salary as Milwaukee County executive in each of the eight years he served – all the while on the job.

Walker, elected in 2002, pledged to return $60,000 of his $132,724 salary each year. In his 2008 re-election effort, he pledged to return $10,000 a year.

During his eight-year tenure, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported, Walker returned more than $370,000 of his salary to Milwaukee County.

As governor, Walker says he is prepared to make the same sacrifices he is asking other state employees to make, applying both the required 5.8 percent pension contribution and the 12.6 percent health premium contribution to both himself and his cabinet officers.

“This bill requires that state employees, again including myself and my cabinet officers, pay at least 12 percent of monthly premiums, which is still less than half of what the private sector pays,” Walker said Feb. 11.

Hot Air: Has a fleebagger broken ranks?

It appears that Cullen is back in Il with the fleebaggers.

It appears that Senator Cullen is back with the other AWOL Senators in Illinois. So was the story wrong? I don’t think so. Liberty Chick tells me she stands by the claim that he went to Wisconsin last night, and I think she’s right. I also believe the proof may be revealed soon.

Wisconsin GOP Senator Chased, Surrounded, Trapped By Protesting Mob

If you’re like me as you watch this video taken by Madisonian, Phil Ejercito, you will angrily be wondering  where the dang police are.

Allahpundit reports:

The savior here, in the orange union t-shirt and sportsjacket, is Democratic Rep. Brett Hulsey; behind him, with white hair and glasses, is Republican Sen. Glenn Grothman. Watch and try to imagine what might have happened had Hulsey not been there.

Attention MSM: ^^^^^That is what an angry, hateful, threatening mob looks like. F-Bombs and other assorted vitriolic rhetoric, threatening, crowding behavior, invasion of personal space…

The tea party protesters in the video below were also protesting a bill they didn’t  like. But that’s where the similarities end. The Congressional Black Caucus chose to walk through that crowd, rather than use the underground tunnel, to go on some sort of vanity walk to the Capital, perhaps  hoping to provoke an incident. Unlike Senator Grothman, who was simply trying to get into the building,  the CBC chose  to walk straight through the tea partiers,  who reacted by lustily booing, (like they had booed the white Dem congressmen), and continuing to chant, “kill the bill”. That’s the message they had traveled to Washington to convey, after all. You don’t hear any f-bombs, or racial slurs. And they didn’t crowd them like the stalking Madison protesters mobbed Grothman:

That is not what a hateful, threatening mob looks like.

UPDATE: A little thought experiment from Da TechGuy:

For those who want to defend this as “democracy in action” lets play a game: Pretend that Sen. Grothman was an abortion doctor and the crowd around him were opponents of abortion. How many times would this video be replayed? Would even Charlie Sheen being found in bed with Gaddafi and Snooki be able to keep this from being the media story of the week?

More from Brent Bozell: Opinion: Whitewashing Wisconsin’s Protests:

For example, a Media Research Center study of 53 Wisconsin stories on ABC, CBS and NBC found that only eight stories visually featured signs comparing Gov. Walker to Hitler, or Mussolini, or Stalin, or Mubarak, or Satan. More incredibly, not a single network anchor or reporter addressed whether that kind of signage was civil or appropriate. And only Fox covered Capuano’s “get a little bloody” remark.

Now, compare this to how tea party protests have been covered, and you can see a glaring double standard at work.

These same media outlets spent two years obsessing over every over-the-top tea party sign and mere accusation of uncivil behavior.

Do you remember the claims that tea party activists intentionally spit on Rep. Emmanuel Cleaver (a charge he backed away from) and that tea partyers yelled the N-word at black congressmen (which no one could produce on video)? The mere accusation, the mere suggestion was enough for blanket network coverage.

Jim Hoft interviewed the Senator after the incident. Grothman holds no hard feelings against the protesters whom he calls “nice, jolly college students”.
