“It’s because I’m black, isn’t it?”

Michelle Malkin: Hey, Eric Holder: Meet My People:

In pandering to skin-deep identity politics and exacerbating race-consciousness, Holder has given the rest of us a golden opportunity to stand up, identify “our people” and show the liberal poseurs what post-racialism really looks like.

Herman Cain is my people. He’s my brother-in-arms. I’ve never met him. But we are family. We are kin because we are unhyphenated Americans who are comfortable in the black, brown and yellow skin we are in. We are growing in numbers — on college campuses, in elected office, on the Internet, on radio airwaves, everywhere. And that drives liberals mouth-frothing crazy.

Keep reading  – Malkin lists several more of “her people”. My people are not tribal, or balkanized. We believe in individual freedom and responsibility and are are united by our love and/or respect of  faith/family/country/tradition, not our grievances, or entitlement mentality. That’s a big tent that includes all colors and creeds. It includes gays, atheists, and yes – even pony-tailed college professors.

Patterico: Judge Vinson Stays His Obamacare Ruling (Update: Analysis Added):

Update: Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey has the best quip: “The White House asked for a clarification.  They got a trip to the woodshed instead.”

I’ll write up an analysis shortly but he has given the Obama administration seven days to file an appeal of his ruling on Obamacare.  You can read it for yourself, here.

Update: And as promised, here is the analysis.

First, as a matter of pure opinion, the entire Order issued today seems to be dripping with irritation toward the Obama administration.  Of course their motion to “clarify” was granted and that only made sense, the judge writing:

While I believe that my order was as clear and unambiguous as it could be, it is possible that the defendants may have perhaps been confused or misunderstood its import. Accordingly, I will attempt to synopsize the 78-page order and clarify its intended effect. To that extent, the defendants’ motion to clarify is GRANTED.

And I believe, reading the whole thing, that the judge was at a loss to understand what they were having trouble understanding, to the point that he doubted the sincerity of the request.  But nonetheless, he did provide a pretty decent “cliff’s notes” version of his earlier decision, although I thought the original was clear enough.

Left-Wing Institute For Civil Discourse: 9 Berkeley Students Hold Protest Atop Wheeler Hall:

2:00 p.m.

After 17 people were arrested for refusing to leave Wheeler Hall after 10 p.m. last night, nine demonstrators have now gathered on the fourth-floor balcony of Wheeler, protesting fee increases and budget cuts to higher education. Six have linked their arms and three others are delivering water.

Ann Coulter: Uncivil Unions

As Obama rakes in historic campaign contributions from Wall Street money, liberals claim Republicans are beholden to “the rich.” However that may be, it is far more true, and far less remarked upon, that the Democratic Party is the party of public sector unions.

And now, the nation watches helplessly as public sector unions and their Democratic allies say to Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker: Nice state you got there, governor. Be a shame if something bad happened to it.

For Democrats, the purpose of government is to generously provide jobs for people who otherwise couldn’t be hired — because their skills, attitude or sense of entitlement are considered undesirable in the private sector. And no, I’m not just talking about Barack Obama.

Ed Driscoll reports on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee hearing on global warming/cooling : Out of the Cool:

As Ed Morrissey writes, “Barrasso, Inhofe tag-team Boxer on 1970s ‘New Ice Age’ exposure of Holdren:”

I’m old enough to remember when scientists issued alarms over a coming Ice Age that would wipe out life on Earth on a massive scale. Senator John Barrasso’s memory holds up pretty well, too, and he reminded everyone of the consensus in the 1970s that the climate had begun to cool so significantly that, er, the world needed massive government interventions in energy production and consumption to survive it. Barrasso quotes from Newsweek and Time articles of the period. Senator Tom Udall attempts to ride to EPW Chair Barbara Boxer’s rescue by introducing an article that claims the global-cooling consensus of the 1970s was a “myth,” and Boxer urges Udall to add it to the record. But that’s just the set-up Jim Inhofe needed to complete this two-man demolition of “consensus” and to expose the main White House adviser on climate change as a chronic crank, as the Daily Caller reports.

As Jose Guardia wrote last month, “The news archives are bitches, especially for the ecochondriacs.”

Click over to Ed or the Daily Caller for the video from earlier today. As for Holdren’s more recent wacky Dr. Strangelove-esque scheme to fight global warming, from shortly after the Obama administration took office and were really feeling their oats, just click here.

Fellow PJ Express blogger Zombie, who dug Holdren’s global cooling obsessions from the early 1970s out of the Memory Hole in 2009, had that post read aloud in the Senate today. “How often do blog posts make it into the Senate record? Zombie writes at the Tatler, “I’m not sure, but we now know at least one has made it that far.”

Legal Insurrection: Koch Derangement Syndrome Jumped The Shark Rather Quickly:

Apparently a Koch-related conflict of interest and appearance of impropriety has been identified by the left!

I’m referring to the BREAKING NEWS that a former Koch executive who now has his own business supplies styrofoam cups to the House of Representatives, as dramatically reported by HuffPo (emphasis mine):

Former Koch Industries executive George Wurtz owns WinCup, which supplies the styrofoam cups now littering the building following the House GOP’s decision to phase out biodegradable cups from a Capitol lunchroom.

House Republicans announced in January that they would end a program to place compostable cups, containers and utensils in the House-side mini-cafeteria, a direct shot at former Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s “Green the Capitol” initiative, which did away with styrofoam cups in 2007. Suspending the program resulted in business for Wurtz, a former executive of Koch Industries subsidiary Georgia-Pacific LLC.

GOP leaders did not handpick Wurtz’s company, however — that decision rested with Restaurant Associates, which manages the cafeteria.

“Decisions over what suppliers to use were done solely at the discretion of Restaurant Associates,” Salley Wood, spokeswoman for the House Administration Committee.

Nope, sorry guys – ain’t workin’. Try as you might, I don’t think you’re going to succeed in turning WinCup into the next Halliburton.

A Must-read from Charles Krauthammer at NRO:From Baghdad to Benghazi:

Voices around the world, from Europe to America to Libya, are calling for U.S. intervention to help bring down Moammar Qaddafi. Yet for bringing down Saddam Hussein, the U.S. has been denounced variously for aggression, deception, arrogance, and imperialism.

A strange moral inversion, considering that Saddam’s evil was an order of magnitude beyond Qaddafi’s. Qaddafi is a capricious killer; Saddam was systematic. Qaddafi was too unstable and crazy to begin to match the Baathist apparatus: a comprehensive national system of terror, torture, and mass murder, gassing entire villages to create what author Kanan Makiya called a Republic of Fear.

Moreover, that systemized brutality made Saddam immovable in a way that Qaddafi is not. Barely armed Libyans have already seized half the country on their own. Yet in Iraq, there was no chance of putting an end to the regime without the terrible swift sword (it took all of three weeks) of the United States. No matter the hypocritical double standard. Now that revolutions are sweeping the Middle East and everyone is a convert to George W. Bush’s freedom agenda, it’s not just Iraq that has slid into the memory hole. Also forgotten is the once proudly proclaimed “realism” of years one and two of President Obama’s foreign policy — the “smart power” antidote to Bush’s alleged misty-eyed idealism.

Big Government: House Republican Wants Investigation Of Common Cause:

Republican Rep. Louie Gohmert wants Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate whether the liberal group Common Cause should lose its nonprofit status, after a conservative website published footage of protesters calling for the lynching of conservative Supreme Court justices.

The footage shows enraged protesters making inflammatory and threatening comments about Justices Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas, as well as Thomas’s wife, Ginni Thomas.

Gohmert said that the inflammatory remarks are more troubling given the attack on Arizona Democratic Rep. Gabby Giffords earlier this year.

“We shouldn’t have any organization, especially one that says it’s nonpartisan, out there stirring up hatred and animosity to the point that people would say, “Let’s string up a justice of the Supreme Court as well as his wife,” Gohmert said.

Psssst, Rep Gohmert:  The Civility Police are only for conservatives. Don’t expect this to go anywhere.

Patterico: Obama Administration Deliberately Allows Guns Into Mexico; How Many Have Died As a Result?

You know what seems like a good idea? Flooding Mexico with guns!

Federal agent John Dodson says what he was asked to do was beyond belief.

He was intentionally letting guns go to Mexico?

“Yes ma’am,” Dodson told CBS News. “The agency was.”

The idea was some cockamamie scheme to trace guns:

ATF managers allegedly made a controversial decision: allow most of the weapons on the streets. The idea, they said, was to gather intelligence and see where the guns ended up. Insiders say it’s a dangerous tactic called letting the guns, “walk.”

One agent called the strategy “insane.” Another said: “We were fully aware the guns would probably be moved across the border to drug cartels where they could be used to kill.”

EVERYTHING this administration does seems designed to contribute to the destruction of America!

JammieWearingFool weighs in on women on the front lines: Sorry Ladies, Not This Time:

Infantrymen are the pointy end of the sword. I was one for 20+ years so it is something I can speak on with a fairly certain amount of expertise. We refer to ourselves as bomb dodgers and bullet stoppers. In the words of one senior NCO I had somewhere during my career, he stated that fully 95% of all weapons and tactics designed by man were developed with one intent. That is to maim or kill the Infantryman. The other 5% that were not specifically designed for that purpose could be quickly modified to do so.

Being an Infantryman comes along with a certain amount of unique characteristics. These are not only physical, but mental and sociological. Yes, the Infantry is the largest collection of good ol’ boys you will ever find, but that is exactly what molds them into the most effective force. When you throw females into the equation that delicate balance is upset, and anything which upsets that balance leads to greater chance of injury and death for all. Surviving as an Infantryman, even when nobody is shooting at you, requires a great deal of effort.

A lot people will go on and on about the physical issue, which is very real, and regardless of what a bunch of eggheads want to theorize about, it is immutable and undeniable. But beyond that there is a thing called trust. Trust is the one intangible that receives very little attention, but without it, no front line fighting force can function effectively.

More outrage from the Other McCain: The Global Orgasmatron for Kids:

Here’s a story that prompted Duane Lester to allude to Huxley’s Brave New World.

“Oral sex, masturbation, and orgasms need to be taught in education,” Diane Schneider told the audience at a [United Nations conference] panel on combating homophobia and transphobia.***

The relevant question is, how was GLSEN activist Schneider chosen to present the National Education Association’s official position on “inclusive” sex education to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women?

Think about it: Of all the problems affecting the world, America’s leading organization of teachers is urging the United Nations “to combat heterosexism and gender conformity” by teaching “oral sex, masturbation, and orgasms”? Because that’s exactly what’s needed by impoverished villagers in Bolivia, Botswana, Belize and Burkina Faso.

Meanwhile, you will be pleased to learn, in her official statement to the U.N. conference, Melanne Verveer, U.S. Ambassador-at-Large for Global Women’s Issues (and “one of Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton ’s closest associates“), devoted separate sections to “Women and Green Jobs” and “Gender and Climate Change.”

So that’s the “women’s agenda” the United States is now promoting worldwide: Orgasms for kids, green jobs and fighting climate change.

OMG, make it stop.

Big Journalism: Media Matters Attempts “Transparency”:

What is the point in Media Matters’ war of the billionaires? To go with the billionaire that pays them the most? To go with the billionaire that provides a way for them to wax poetic about failed political theories? How can one complain about the activities of free businessmen when they are the hacks for one?

Of course the point of their hackery is to deflect attention away from their own nastiness.

  1. Good God, where do you start? Okay, I’ll just say what comes to mind…Democrats, Liberals, Socialists, Progressives..etc. have a complete loss of any common sense. This “CULT” is hell bent on committing national suicide. It’s simply astounding what is happening in the Democrat party. To imagine tens of millions of American adults supporting this insanity is frightening.
