Radical-in-Chief Lambasts “Radical” Republican Budget

This left-wing projection is getting so old, so tedious…

PALO ALTO, Calif. — President Barack Obama said Wednesday that congressional Republicans are pushing a radical plan to trim Medicare and Medicaid, ramping up the rhetoric as he and Congress approach crucial decisions on spending and the nation’s debt.

“I think it’s fair to say that their vision is radical,” Obama told a town hall gathering at the headquarters of Facebook, the huge social network company.

“I don’t think it’s particularly courageous,” he said of the GOP plan to convert Medicare to a voucher program and make big cuts to the federal-state Medicaid program for the poor.

We’re not supposed to notice that Democrats have been using the word, “radical”like crazy in their messaging, lately. We’re not supposed to notice that it supplanted “extreme” after Chuckie Schumer rendered that word inoperable. We’re not supposed to notice the irony of THE MOST RADICAL PRESIDENT IN AMERICAN HISTORY calling the mild mannered Republicans’ vision, “radical”.

And let’s not neglect this petty little swipe, “I don’t think it’s particularly courageous”.

It must have really chapped Obama’s ass to hear the chorus of pundits pronouncing the younger and smarter Ryan’s plan as“bold,  brave” and courageous.

Sure, his dutiful minions flooded the internet with posts mocking the word “courageous” to describe Ryan’s plan, but it took the radical in Chief, himself to stick the final shiv in Ryan’s hard work in front of the useful idiots at Facebook. Now anyone who googles Ryan’s budget plan with “Obama” and the word courageous, will get this.

Scotty Starnes: Obama calls GOP Budget “Radical” while wanting to share medical information on Facebook

Obama has the balls to call the Republican’s budget radical for making cuts that reduce the deficit while his budget almost doubles the national debt ($20.8 trillion) by 2021. Each year Obama is in office, $1 trillion plus is added to the national debt.

Obama’s spending is so radical that S&P downgraded U.S. credit outlook. We all know who the Saul Alinsky radical is.

Dr. Richard L. Rubenstein, Yale fellow, “Distinguished Professor of the Year”, and Harvard Phd, called “Obama the Most Radical US President ever”, and  stated that president Obama’s intention is to “correct the historical mistake of the creation of the state of Israel.”

He is a menace.

But the Republicans are the radical ones for trying to save the country from certain fiscal doom if we don’t do something to rein in spending.

Obama Skips Visiting Tornado Ravaged South – Goes On 3-Day Fund-Raising Tour Instead

What did Paul Ryan call Obama last Wednesday? Oh yeah, The campaigner in Chief. It’s about time someone said it. He’s been on a non-stop self promotion tour since he was elected. It never stops. This week, in the wake of these devastating tornadoes, Obama is choosing to  embark on a three day tour out West where he hopes to raise millions for himself and fellow Democrats.

Keith Koffler of White House Dossier writes:

The tornadoes, part of a storm that rampaged though six states Saturday, resulted in one of the worst disasters of any kind in the United States since the Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Scores were left injured or homeless while 45 people were killed – about four times as many as died in the Gulf oil rig explosion and the subsequent oil spill last year. In North Carolina alone, there were nearly two-dozen storm-related deaths Saturday, with 130 homes destroyed and an estimated 700 more damaged.

Not only is Obama staying away from the region, he has said almost nothing publicly about the tragedy beyond an interview with a North Carolina TV station and a very brief mention at a White House prayer breakfast. The president has failed to make the kind of national, attention-getting public statement presidents offer during crises to comfort victims by expressing the condolences of the nation and to seek charitable aid.

Sunday, he went golfing. On Monday, he did sign a disaster declaration for North Carolina, which will free up federal assistance to the state.

Vice President Biden has also failed to show up. He’s cooling his heels today at home in Wilmington, Delaware. The disaster did not even merit a visit from Secretary of Interior Ken Salazar who – without any apparent irony – was in Boston Tuesday announcing a new wind energy project.

Meanwhile, the South is bracing for more, as forecasters say severe storms and tornadoes could hit the region again today.

Not sure how wise Obama’s actions are, considering  Charlotte, North Carolina was chosen as the site for the 2012 Democrat Convention.

Krauthammer: Left-Wing’s Hateful attacks On Tea Party based On Envy

O’Reilly is perplexed by the  repellent  vitriol and outrageous behavior we witnessed in last weekend’s counter-protests to the tax day tea parties. What is the left’s strategy, he wonders.  Sir Charles has obviously thought this out:

By Jove, I think he’s got it.

Doug Ross: They Lost In The Supreme Court, They Lost In Congress,  They Lost At The FEC, So Now The President Is Just Going To Do It By Edict

An “impeccable source” alerts former Department of Justice Attorney Hans von Spakovsky to an imminent presidential executive order that would implement portions of the “DISCLOSE Act”.

You may recall the controversial bill that Democrats tried to ram through Congress last year. Its intent was to make it more difficult for private individuals to fund campaign commercials while simultaneously shielding unions from disclosure requirements. In other words, Democrats — true to form — intend to limit free speech unless it politically benefits them. Former FEC Chairman Brad Smith characterized the DISCLOSE Act as “Democrat Incumbents Seeking to Contain Losses by Outlawing Speech in Elections Now”.

Having failed to limit private speech in the Supreme Court (the Citizens United decision), having failed to pass the DISCLOSE Act itself, and having failed to railroad the Federal Election Commission, the president and his sycophants are using other means to achieve their extra-constitutional ends.

Michelle Malkin: Project Gunrunner update: ATF ignored warnings, DOJ ignores document requests

Tick, tick, tick. Another Project Gunrunner disclosure deadline approaches for the Obama Department of Justice. And GOP watchdogs are hammering away at yet another stonewall erected by corruptocrat Attorney General Eric Holder.

Late last week, Sen. Charles Grassley roasted the DOJ for failing to produce documents he requested in February — and released his own set of damning e-mails between a gun shop owner who had protested the ATF’s dangerous straw purchase scheme repeatedly. Via CBS News’s Sheryl Atkinson:

Damning, newly-obtained emails show that a key gun shop owner made explicit concerns in writing last year in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms’ “gunwalking” scandal.

Starting in late 2009, ATF allegedly directed an undetermined number of Phoenix-area gun shop owners to go ahead with sales of thousands of assault rifles and other weapons to suspicious buyers. Insiders claim ATF knew the buyers were connected to Mexico’s drug cartels, but let the guns “walk” onto the street anyway in a misguided attempt to obtain intelligence. ATF and the Justice Department have denied that.

Investigators from Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa) obtained the emails this week.

Big Government: Former SEIU Official Appointed By Obama To Investigate Union Corruption, Cuts Number Of Investigators

Big Labor Payback Job One for Obama

Even though Obama campaigned on transparency and a focus on ethics, cronies at DOL focused on eliminating basic financial union disclosure and union officials’ conflict-of-interest disclosures requirements.

At DOL, John Lund cut the number of labor union investigators, rescinded disclosure of union officer benefits, eliminated financial reporting for unions like the Wisconsin Education Association Council, and eliminated conflict-of-interest reporting for thousands of union officials.  Each of these actions benefits Big Labor Bosses, but undercuts those forced to pay union dues and fees as a condition of employment.

John Lund Conflicts-of-Interest

The Obama Ethics Executive Order requires appointees to pledge that they will refrain from involvement in matters involving their former employer or clients.  The AFL-CIO and other unions are former clients of John Lund , and these unions remain clients of his former and current employer, the University of Wisconsin School for Workers (Lund is currently on unpaid leave while at DOL).  The Wisconsin School for Workers’ primary mission is to train union officials; the very officials that Lund now purportedly investigates for corruption.

The following highlights are but a few that The National Right To Work Committee has unearthed to illustrate Lund’s conflicts-of-interest:

Joseph Klein, NewsReal Blog: Obama Justice Department Shields Islamist Allies From Prosecution

The Obama administration invited the president of one of the unindicted co-conspirators  in the Hamas terror finance case, United States v. Holy Land Foundation – the Islamic Society of North America (“ISNA”)– to the White House for a Ramadan dinner banquet two years in a row. Now it is running interference for ISNA and other Islamist allies in a politically sensitive case that career prosecutors at the Department of Justice were thinking of bringing against them.

The mainstream news media, including cable news stations, have dropped the ball on an explosive story – the Obama administration’s despicable decision for political reasons not to prosecute the 246 individuals and Islamist organizations, named as unindicted co-conspirators in the Holy Land Foundation case. The Obama administration is trying to keep its political interference as secret as possible, refusing requests for disclosure of an internal Department of Justice memorandum discussing the matter.

According to a high-ranking source within the Department of Justice, who spoke exclusively to Patrick Poole writing for Pajamas Media – part of the new media that is making mainstream media obsolete – the decision not to seek indictments of the Council on American Islamic Relations (“CAIR”) and its co-founder Omar Ahmad (also the former head of the Palestine Committee of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States), ISNA, and the North American Islamic Trust (“NAIT”), was a politically motivated decision from the top down.

Oh Boy:

Wed Apr 20 2011 10:35:52 ET

This year’s high stakes publishing project quietly went to press this week, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.

After years of research and digging by the nation’s top private investigators, here it comes:

“WHERE’S THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE? The Case that Barack Obama is not Eligible to be President.”

The street date is a LONG month away, and author Jerome Corsi, the man who torpedoed John Kerry’s presidential dreams with SWIFT BOAT, has gone underground and is holding his new findings thisclose.

“It’s utterly devastating,” reveals a source close to the publisher. “Obama may learn things he didn’t even know about himself!”

Stanley Kurtz, The Corner: IPAB, Obama, and Socialism:

A month ago here at NRO, my EPPC colleague James Capretta described the real plan by which the president and his allies aim to close the fiscal gap. Their goal, says Capretta, is to work by stealth, so voters never fully realize that the government has adopted their strategy. The first part of the plan involves taxing “the rich” for Medicare and health insurance, but without Reagan-style indexing of taxes to inflation. That way, inflation-driven “bracket creep” will raise health-care taxes on the middle class without congressional Democrats ever having to vote for new taxes. (See Ross Douthat on this today.)

The second part of the plan involves IPAB-imposed price controls and the large-scale rationing of health care that implies. But to work, IPAB’s authority has got to extend beyond Medicare. The idea, says Capretta, is to wait until the massive financial strains brought on by Obamacare bring calls for cost control. That’s when the Democrats will push for IPAB’s authority to be extended beyond Medicare to all of Obamacare, at which point we’ll be very close to a single-payer health-care system with Canadian-style rationing.

The president’s speech last week tracks well with Capretta’s predictions. Obama promised tax hikes for “the rich,” and vaguely alluded to plans to expand IPAB’s powers as deficits mount. Of course, even as he laid the groundwork for strengthening IPAB, Obama gave no real hint of the massive health-care rationing that would imply. And at the moment, the Congressional Budget Office predicts little or no savings from IPAB’s price-setting, so Obama’s speech came off as an unserious reply to Ryan. But as Mark Hemingway points out, Obama’s IPAB plan makes sense if we see it as “a Trojan horse” for a regime of “command-and-control rationing” quietly installed over the long term.

Rationing, death panels, socialism, and deception. It’s all there.

Left-Wing Institute For Civil Discourse: Video: Lefty Activists In DC Comically Over-React To Kerry Picket Asking A Question

Kerry Picket of the Washington Times was confronted by a pair of left-wing activists who rather dramatically over-reacted to a question she  asked at a news conference about the DC voucher program that Congress has voted to reinstate.

Unidentified activist: You are obviously hostile and filled with contempt. I have no interest in cooperating with you. You know that you are dishonest because you are willing to have a point of view that’s filled with bias and prior conclusions. This is not honest , and the people of DC have *voted -have voted against vouchers. That hardly matters to you and is dispositive because we have a representative democracy where you are utterly driven by ideology which is clearly the case.

Kerry Picket: And your name?

Unidentified activist: Drop dead!

Watch the video to find out what her “obviously hostile, dishonest, biased, and filled with contempt” question was.

Dana Loesch, Big Government: Wonkette Makes Fun of Trig Palin, Calls Him “Retarded”:

They consider this satirical? This entire thing sounds like it was written by some guy, in this case, Jack Stuef who got tired of being bullied on the playground and, seeing his once chance to sound cool and impress people, decides to bully a child. You picked on a kid, dude. Yay for you.

What’s he dreaming about? Nothing. He’s retarded.

Is there no depths of depravity to which these people won’t stoop?

Ace: Marist Poll: Obama’s Got Re-Election Problems

All told: If you’re in a liberal-leaning group and are comfortable enough economically to only care about more abstract things like social issues (abortion forever), racial solidarity (gotta give our brother a second chance), racial condescension (wouldn’t be fair to boot out a black guy just because he’s unqualified and a failure), and also don’t care about taxes, you’re pro-Obama. Plus, anyone getting handouts from the government, or whose jobs depend directly on a large government.

Everyone else is moving away. Way too slowly for me to feel comfortable about it, but it does look like there’s movement away.

Republicans need to hold the line with white seniors, and win over “educated white women”.  (The stench of academic rot has never been more manifest.)

The Minority Report: So Much for the New Media King; ForAmerica Claims Credit For Crashing Obama Facebook Town Hall

Our good friend Keith Appell from CRC sent this over:

President Obama’s Town Hall Facebook page was down for about 40 minutes earlier this afternoon shortly after the ForAmerica’s Facebook community became engaged.  ForAmerica launched just six weeks before the election and has already grown to almost 1 million fans on Facebook, many of whom became engaged today

Weasel Zippers: Liberals Hit New Low, Keep Digging: Attack Paul Ryan Because His Father Died Young, Resulting in Survivor Benefits…

But the Daily Kos blog is now using his father’s early death against Ryan.   A Daily Kos diary attacks Ryan in a post entitled, “Entitlement-hating Paul Ryan collected Social Security benefits until he was 18.” Never mind that Ryan’s recent budget proposal doesn’t in fact seek to abolish entitlements, much less get rid of Social Security. It merely seeks to cut the rate of growth of exploding Medicare costs by eventually giving its recipients vouchers they can use to shop around for medical care.

Hot Air: Madison protests cost WI taxpayers millions:

When these final costs get tallied, Republicans should send the bill to the fleebagging Democratic Senators.  They drew out the drama for weeks by fleeing the state, trying to help the unions push Republicans into folding.  The extended absence forced the state to keep police and other resources bolstered in order to protect the legislature.  Had the Democrats accepted the results of the last election and participated in the actual process of governing rather than holding it hostage in an attempt to gain minority rule, the state could have saved itself millions of dollars — and no small amount of embarrassment.

Audio: Breitbart on Mark Levin (Plus My Review Of Righteous Indignation)

Andrew Breitbart, on his book tour to promote his new book, Righteous Indignation, has been making stops all over the media, talking about his favorite topic, the Democrat media Complex. Here he is on The Mark Levin Show, last night:

video via Breitbart TV

I received my copy, yesterday, and am already half through because  Breitbart writes like he talks, making his book an eminently entertaining and easy read. I’m finding that his interest in politics very closely parallels my own; we both started paying close attention during the Clarence Thomas hearings, and were appalled by what we saw. I had already discovered Rush Limbaugh by that time – he was soon to. While Breitbart was making the transformation from “default liberal” to conservative, I had always been fairly conservative in my thinking, but was in the process of understanding the arguments for my conservatism, better. I remember how thrilling it felt that somebody was finally willing to go on the air and espouse  what the silent majority believed, but was too intimidated to say out loud on politically incorrect topics such as entitlements and  feminism.

Breitbart grew up in a stable, two parent home, and had been raised to  know the difference between right and wrong – a key factor, I think , in his transformation to conservatism. Even as a liberal Democrat who had marinated in leftist thinking his whole life, he could see that the Thomas hearings were nothing but, (as Thomas himself called them) a high tech lynching, orchestrated to protect the holiest of holies to the left: abortion rights.

His hunger for news, and his ADHD fueled his first forays into the brand new internet, which he taught himself how to use, back when it was a much more complicated endeavor to get online. He’s about a decade ahead of me, there. I spent the nineties as a young wife and mother, dedicated to being the best homemaker I could be for my family. It wasn’t until 2004 that I started using the computer on any kind of regular basis.

But the stories in the news that incensed Andrew were the same ones that incensed me. The 1998 slimefest  directed toward Republicans that ensued as the Democrat Media Complex circled the wagons around their man in the White House, BJ Clinton, still enrages me to this day. I saw shades of 1998 when Wisconsin Dems recently slimed  Supreme Court Justice, David Prosser in Wisconsin because he  represents an end to the powerful and corrupt Dem/union partnership that has been bankrupting the state budget.

As much as I despise Al Gore for his global warming idiocy, nothing can compare the contempt I have for the man for the desperate, pathetic, and graceless manner in which he attempted to steal the close 2000 election, (trying to recount the votes until he could find enough to put him on top). His  refusal to  gracefully cede the election to the winner had disastrous ramifications for Bush, poisoning the political atmosphere for him for his entire term of office.

Breitbart vividly recounts the battles of 1998, 2000, and post 9/11 in his book, which I highly recommend.

(I’ll review part two after I finish reading it).
