One definition of insanity is making the same mistake over and over again, but expecting different results.
cer·ti·fi·a·ble: Officially recognized as needing treatment for a mental disorder.
Yep, that’s our President, all right.
I know I don’t have to tell you that the last stimulus was not exactly a smashing success.
In fact, according to the Weekly standard, not only is SCOAMF avoiding mentioning that Stimulus in formal speeches, “it has now been five months since the administration last put out a report card on the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA—aka the “stimulus”), which the act itself requires the administration to do.”
In fact, the administration is now three economic quarters behind schedule in chronicling the effects of Obama’s second-most prominent piece of legislation—again, in defiance of the very law it’s supposed to be reviewing. (Those who live to impose regulations on others aren’t always as eager to obey regulations themselves.)
Why hesitate to release these reports? The answer, as you may have guessed, is that there’s not much to brag about.
Via Weasel Zippers:
(Washington Times) — Putting pressure on Congress to approve parts of his latest economic stimulus plan, President Obama urged Americans Saturday to push lawmakers to approve his multibillion-dollar “to-do list” for creating jobs.
“Each of the ideas on this list will help create jobs and build a stronger economy right now,” Mr. Obama said in his weekly address. “Let’s push Congress to do the right thing. Let’s keep moving this country forward together.”
The president’s list includes an expanded program to help homeowners refinance their mortgages, a proposal to give small businesses tax breaks for hiring more workers, a program that would help veterans find jobs, and an extension of tax credits for clean-energy companies.
Is Obama really certifiably insane, or is he crazy like a fox? I think most of you know the answer…
I’ve been muttering under my breath for three years, now that this man and his enablers are trying to destroy the US economy. There’s no other explanation for what is going on – – –
Yesterday, I linked Joel Gerhke’s Examiner story in a post titled “Great: Corporate America Now Paying Democrats to Call Americans Racist,” which mentioned that the 2010 annual report for Maya Wiley’s Center for Social Inclusion (PDF, see Page 13)“lists many of the usual suspects, including George Soros’s Open Society Institute and the Soros-funded Tides Foundation.”
Operating in “file-and-forget” mode, I moved on to other stories until last night, when I was having fun on Twitter with the #ObamaBedtimeStories meme, and one of my jokes got re-Tweeted by my friend, investigative reporter Matthew Vadum. Because Matthew is perhaps the nation’s leading expert on the ACORN/SEIU/Soros connection, it occurred to me he might be able to get some data on the Soros connection to what Gehrke had reported. So I sent him a couple of Tweets about it. By the time I got up about 7 a.m. today, Vadum had sent me a spreadsheet listing foundation contributions to Wiley’s outfit. Quickly adding up the numbers and doing additional research online, within two-and-a-half hours I’d filed this brief report for The American Spectator:
A non-profit organization that provided training last week to House Democrats, portraying Republican opponents as racially motivated, has received significant funding from foundations linked to controversial left-wing multibillionaire George Soros.
Soros’s Open Society Institute has given $75,000 to the Center for Social Inclusion, which has also received more than $850,000 from the Soros-connectedTides Foundation/Tides Center since 2005, according to documents obtained by The American Spectator.
In a training session for House Democrats and their congressional staffers last week, Center for Social Inclusion founder and president Maya Wiley described “conservative messages” as being “racially coded,” and suggested that Democrats “raise racial disparities” in public policy discussions, Joel Gerhke of the Washington Examiner reported. . . .
The Soros-Wiley connection was noted by Matthew Vadum of the Capital Research Center. Vadum, an investigative reporter and American Spectatorcontributor, is author of the widely-praised recent book Subversion, Inc., an exhaustive exposé of ACORN. Wiley’s background also drew attention from Michelle Horstman of PJ Media, who noted that Maya Wiley is the daughter of 1960s radical George Wiley, founder of the National Welfare Rights Organization.
Please read the whole thing. Connecting the dots to the National Welfare Rights Organization links the Center for Social Inclusion to the “Cloward-Piven Strategy,” a 1960s left-wing effort to foment economic crisis and social revolution.
And notice how Obama beckons “Americans” (read occupiers, MoveOn, etc ) to ‘push lawmakers to approve his multibillion-dollar “to-do list” for creating jobs.’
That would be his moonbat signal to every left-wing group out there to mobilize and ramp up their class warfare efforts against Republicans. A supporting cast of Bolsheviks include Michael Moore, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn, and Frances Fox Piven herself, offering advice and inspiration to their neocom charges from the sidelines.
On the race war front it would seem that Obama’s minions are dead -set on using the already maxed out race card as a political strategy to get him elected, again.
While Maya Wiley’s examples of white racism were ludicrous, William Bigelow of Big Government noted that there was a tactical reason for her talk:
Then, in typically Obama-like cynical fashion, she explained how to lure white voters to her side even while crying racism: “Don’t make the mistake of telling them they’re in the problem. It’s emotional connection, not rational connection that we need … Explain how each racial group is affected (recognize the unique pain of each group), but start with people who are White … then raise racial disparities.” The line she offered to bait whites into joining her own inherently racist cause? “Homeownership is the American Dream. It hurts the same to lose your home if you’re White, Asian, Latino or Black.”
The idea, of course is to guilt gullible white voters into voting for Obama, again.
Earlier this year, I was tracking the Democrats’ obvious and brazen applications of the race card. You see, I had naively thought that they would keep it at a manageable pace, but good God, no – when the Trayvon Martin story hit, their foul racial politics really hit the fan and I threw up my hands and gave up – I would have been spending all day tracking their racialist idiocy.
But you get the idea, right? Their disgraceful divide and conquer racialist strategy is both desperate, and dangerous. But if it leads to race riots later on this year, so much the better – progs thrive on chaos.
They never let a crisis go to waste, doncha know.
