Are You Ready For “Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day”, May 25? (Video)

This Friday, May 25th has been designated, Everybody Blog About Brett Kimberlin Day.

The always excellent Lee Stranahan came up with the idea:

Brett Kimberlin is a convicted bomber, perjurer and left-wing attack dog. He’s attacked — in no particular order — conservative bloggers like Andrew Breibart, Patterico, Liberty Chick, Aaron Worthing, Stacy McCain and others.

He created a short, easy to follow video  crib notes version of Kimberlin’s history:

That chilling music is very apropos –  Kimberlin is an evil menace to society, and must be stopped before he hurts someone again. Just as chilling is the fact that there are powerful and deep pocketed entities on the left that are willing to fund his nefarious operations. That anyone in their right minds would want to have their name associated with such a miscreant should be shocking, but we’re talking about institutional left, here. There is apparently no limit to the depths of  depravity Marxists will sink to in order to destroy their enemies..

As you’ve probably heard, the Brett Kimberlin saga recently took a bizarre Turn, forcing RS McCain to leave Maryland:

FROM AN UNDISCLOSED LOCATION
Convicted terrorist Brett Kimberlin on Monday continued his effort to silence those who write about his criminal past by contacting my wife’s employer, claiming that I was “harassing” him. The resulting security concern required immediate relocation if I was to be able to continue writing about the case of Kimberlin, a violent felon, perjurer and admitted tax cheat who is employed as the director of a 501(c)3 non-profit that has collected $1.8 million in contributions since 2005.

Kimberlin was convicted of multiple federal felonies in 1981 and sentenced to 50 years in prison after he terrorized a small Indiana town in a brutal crime weeklong bombing spree. Law enforcement officials told the Indianapolis Star they believed the bombings were committed in an attempt to distract authorities investigating the 1978 murder of a 65-year-old grandmother, a crime in which Kimberlin was a suspect.

In recent months, Kimberlin has used a strategy of legal intimidation and workplace harassment in an apparent attempt to silence his critics, including blogger Seth Allen, Virginia attorney Aaron Walker and Los Angeles deputy district attorney Patrick Frey.

Walker says he and his wife were fired from their jobs because of Kimberlin’s harassment. Walker did legal work for Allen, who was sued after writing about Kimberlin’s criminal career. On Thursday, Walker published a 28,000-word account of how he says Kimberlin tried to “frame” him on a bogus assault charge.

Kimberlin is a known associate of Neal Rauhauser, a Democrat campaign consultant who has described himself as a computer “hacker.” Kimberlin, director of the tax-exempt Justice Through Music Project, is also involved in another tax-exempt group, Velvet Revolution, which has gained national attention by demanding criminal prosecution of high-profile figures including Republican strategist Karl Rove, U.S. Chamber of Commerce president Tom Donohue, and the late Internet news entrepreneur Andrew Breitbart. Kimberlin’s name also surfaced last year in connection with the so-called “Anonymous” international hacker conspiracy. Kimberlin has pursued numerous strategies to harass journalists and bloggers who have attempted to call attention to his criminal past and his notorious dishonesty — a “top-flight con man,” as Publisher’s Weekly called him in a review of award-winning journalist Mark Singer’s 1996 book, Citizen K: The Deeply Weird American Journey of Brett Kimberlin.

This Friday, let’s all be Stacy McCain – let’s all be all Aaron Worthing…

Stranahan explains what you can do to take part in EBABKD, this Friday:

  1. Research Brett Kimberlin on your own. Don’t trust secondary sources; look for the orginal articles articles published about him, too.
  2. On Friday, May 25th — write an honest, factually accurate post about what you learned and what your OPINION is. Brett may try and sue you, so be accurate, factual and separate fact from opinion.
  3. The post doesn’t have to be long — ANYTHING helps.
  4. After you post, Tweet, share, whatever — get the post out there.

In other words flood the zone…

Read Aaron Worthing’s blog, Allergic to Bull for all the latest happenings in the Kimberlin saga.

UPDATE:

The Ewok enters the fray.

UPDATE II:

Just got off the phone with Stacy.

I had contacted him because I wanted to know if the rumors were true that Kimberlin had  threatened his life like I’ve been seeing on some blogs. He told me that he doesn’t scare easily, but “when someone as dangerously sociopathic as Brett Kimberlin, with his terrorist background,  takes a personal interest in you –  *finds out where you live, you tend to feel threatened.”

UPDATE IV:

Bob Owens asks: Why are Maryland Democrats letting the “Speedway Bomber” get away with terrorism?

Why do radical leftist terrorists keep turning up around Barack Obama?

Damn good question.

It seems that Kimberlin unwisely chose lawyers as his targets, and they have compiled enough compelling evidence to warrant a criminal investigation of Kimberlin’s actions, but authorities do not seem at all interested in pursuing the case.

Why?

Another damn good question.

The charges would apparently need to be brought in Maryland. Heavily Democratic Maryland. The same Democrats for which Kimberlin’s group advocates.

UPDATE V:

Mesablue says Brett Kimberlin — sue me, please.

Mr. Kimberlin (and noxious friends), I call you out to try to find me and do to me what you have done in recent months to others that I would call friends. I hate to make this about me, but I would truly enjoy personally embarrassing you in this venue. Or, in court.

***

* Originally reported as “tells you he knows where you live…” but I’m not actually clear on that point. Stacy did tell me later that he knew after Kimberlin called his wife’s employment that he also knew where they lived, so until he tells me otherwise I’ll just leave it at that.
UPDATE VI:

  1. Hello, nice Deb. Perhaps you might also like to re-check Lee’s thread as I posted a comment there you might like to read. I got permission to quote, in toto, Patterico’s and Aaron’s Kimberlin articles. You will find a link to those permissions on my front page on my site. You will find an explanation why I am seeking out those permissions on Lee’s site that you just linked here and on American Power Blog and on a recent Patterico article.

Knowing Kimberlin and his love for frivolous lawsuits, you might well consider giving me those same permissions, after you check out my reasoning and my own “permissions declaration” linkage on my site. Viral is good. Brush fires is good. Kimberlin is evil.

  4. I may have heard of Kimberlin before, but I had forgotten him. Then I read stuff about him on ‘Patterico’s Pontifications’ and ‘Allergic to Bull’ and maybe a few other places. What I learned includes:
‘Aaron Worthing’ has been posting under a false name for years.
The book ‘Citizen K’ claims that Kimberlin bragged about sabotaging military aircraft. When a poster to ‘Patterico’s…’ pointed out that if he had done so, he would have been caught (he wasn’t) and no bodily harm would have resulted the response was basically facts don’t matter, and it would still be a crime to be represented in a book as claiming to have committed a crime (like ‘If I Did It?’), which I guess is what prosecutor-types would say.
I decided yo do some research, starting at the Wikipedia page on KImberlin someone claimed only to not find any such page.
I wish some of you people weren’t such toads.

  5. Aaron Worthing has been posting under a false name for years.

You mean a pseudonym? Like many bloggers use?

Why don’t you try reading some of the old newspaper articles? There’s a ton of information out there on the guy – none of it flattering.

Only those of us who don’t really care to have unbalanced jackwagons like this knucklehead showing up on our front porch, menacing our families, and trying to get us fired.

But then, that would also be something I’d expect from other members of my tribe, too.

    Hence, the pseudonym.

  10. “I decided yo do some research, starting at the Wikipedia page on KImberlin ”

There wasn’t one until very recently. Well, to be more accurate, there was a factually correct page on Brett years ago, and then it was wiped away despite being well sourced. You have no way of vetting that the latest author is unbiased.

Relying on wikipedia in this case is not such a great idea. Brett was willing to file many legal actions to squelch the truth. I imagine he’s not going to leave the wikipedia page alone. After all, it was deleted for awhile. Who do you think wanted that to happen?

“‘Aaron Worthing’ has been posting under a false name for years.”

True. You have never used a pseudonym, Alvin?

“When a poster to ‘Patterico’s…’ pointed out that if he had done so, he would have been caught (he wasn’t) and no bodily harm would have resulted the response was basically facts don’t matter”

    That’s not accurate.

    http://patterico.com/2012/05/19/todays-quote-from-citizen-k-the-book-about-convicted-bomber-and-perjurer-brett-kimberlin-2/

Never did anyone say “the facts don’t matter”. The only actual fact we have in that case is that Brett claimed he cut wires destined for our military, as reported in Citizen K, a credible source.

The reaction to this fact was intelligent adults disagreeing over whether Brett really did as he claimed. Your summary that Brett would have been caught is not very reliable. Someone like Brett could easily cover their tracks merely by screwing with QC records or labels.

“I wish some of you people weren’t such toads.”

    Sigh.

Watch the video at Aaron’s blog. Read the claims Brett made about the incident. Google “Julia Scyphers” or “Carl Delong”.

And on May 25, blog your thoughts after you’ve done your homework.

  14. Nice Deb,

I would like to emphasize that if people do this, realize they are doing this in Seth Allen’s name too. Seth is a pretty hard core liberal. I don’t think we agree on a lot but the things we agree on are the most important–free speech and the right of a person to counsel being two of them. He is indeed allegedly a communist. I don’t know because I never cared enough to ask him. I have no doubt he will be voting for Obama and I will be voting for Not Obama. And it is irrelevant.

So keep Seth in your hearts, too. He discovered a monster in the midst of the left and he had the principles to cry foul. And as best as i can tell, that is why Kimberlin went after him full bore.

  20. The left’s newest creepiest habit is to threaten people by going to their home. I found this despicable when unions picketed the homes of bank executives and very scary when a convicted terrorist/bomber does something similar… Freedom of speech is great, I am just not sure that someone’s freedom should allow them to intimidate others in their own home or place of employment. Do we have a legal defense fund established?

  25. Hi. This is me again. I figured since I got so worked up and got others so worked up I should try to respond to some posts. Basically I’m sorry I started this, but I got mad and felt I shouldn’t just back down again.

“I decided yo do some research, starting at the Wikipedia page on KImberlin ”
There wasn’t one until very recently. Well, to be more accurate, there was a factually correct page on Brett years ago, and then it was wiped away despite being well sourced
That’s what got it started. I was starting to care what was being said so I decided to try going to this Wikipedia page somebody mentioned (that part was cut out) and it wasn’t even there! I was aware of the posssibilty it could have existed once and been removed (although I thought Wikipedia would tell me), and thought I hedged enough in my post, but thought I had been told whopper.

True. You have never used a pseudonym, Alvin?
Actually no, although maybe different forms of my name (I thought people who knew who I was would contact me about my posts and we’d have a conversation. Instead people who may or may not me make cryptic remarks). I know it’s common, but it did seem odd it was another regular name and not something like Nightduck62. Again, I was angry.

Frankly, in my mind, “The facts don’t matter’ seemed to summarize the posts of one particular poster. I will concede I was probably mistaken, partly because I don’t want to wade through it again. And ‘intelligent adults’? This and a later remark make me think I came off as a petulant child, but if so, certainly not the only petulant child.

Watch the video at Aaron’s blog. Read the claims Brett made about the incident. Google “Julia Scyphers” or “Carl Delong”.
And on May 25, blog your thoughts after you’ve done your homework.
Actually, when I first read this, I had already seen a video at Breitbart Unmasked which included the actuality in Walker’s video, so I guess what Walker claimed Kimberlin claimed is not what Kimberlin claims now. There could be other explanations, but having seen the Breitbart Unmasked video first made me scream ‘Liar!” at the Walker video.
And yes, I was aware of the two deaths attributed to Kimberlin. I just concede his guilt, wash my hands my hands of you all, and metaphorically walk away.

You obviously didn’t read Aaron’s post. He proves what Brett swore to. Yes, he changed his claims after he learned of the existence of the video. After his lies under oath were now obviously untrue.

    Thank you for highlighting this.

“I was aware of the posssibilty it could have existed once and been removed ”

Yeah, it was scrubbed three times, I believe. Two times for certain, but I think three. The reasons for the scrubbing were BS, as the article was well sourced when I saw it some time ago.

“I just concede his guilt, wash my hands my hands of you all”

That comes across as equivocation. Which is disgusting.

  33. After requesting and receiving permission from Patterico to quote in toto any and all articles Patterico has written and will write about Brett Kimberlin (until such time as Patterico specifically revokes said permission), I have just today finished republishing all those articles, one of which is linked here (and thusly, at Lee Stranahan’s place, American Thinker, and multiple other places). And Lee Stranahan’s article very clearly gave blanket permission to quote in toto, so I did. I have also requested and been granted permission by Aaron Worthing to quote in toto his Kimberlin articles, but I have not yet begun to do so.

Since the articles I published on Truth Before Dishonor, consisting of “quote in toto” articles written by others, by permission, those articles on Truth Before Dishonor are now the property of Truth Before Dishonor. And I have granted blanket permission to quote in toto those articles. See my “permissions declarations” link in any of those articles.

I suggest, for the viral nature of this, and for a defense against Kimberlin’s lawfare, that others do the same: Quote in toto Kimberlin articles others have posted and granted permission to quote in toto (with appropriate links to your source and the original source), and give blanket permission for others to quote in toto your Kimberlin articles (with appropriate links to you and the original source).

In this way, Kimberlin’s lawfare and intimidation schemes will be overwhelmed by people standing up to him and speaking the truth about him.

Word picture time (and I love word pictures).

Kimberlin has a Smith and Wesson 500 magnum, a 5-shooter revolver of major firepower. There are 500 people ready to take him down. Which 5 people does he take down before the other 495 blogospherically destroy him?

    My TBD byline:
I would rather be right than popular.

    My TBD raison d’etre:
All it take for evil to win is for good men to do nothing.
    If not you, then who?
