German Paper: “Ist Obama ein Kommunist?”

Stanley Kurtz provided an invaluable service during the ’08 election cycle by researching Obama’s background, his ties to ACORN, work with Bill Ayers on The Annenberg Project, and Woods Fund,  and his ties to the Socialist “New Party”. He’s making headlines again by proving in NRO once and for all that Obama was in fact, a member of the Socialist New Party in the 1990s: Obama’s Third-Party History:

In late October 2008, when I wrote here at National Review Online that Obama had been a member of the New Party, his campaign sharply denied it, calling my claim a “crackpot smear.” Fight the Smears, an official Obama-campaign website, staunchly maintained that “Barack has been a member of only one political party, the Democratic Party.” I rebutted this, but the debate was never taken up by the mainstream press.

Recently obtained evidence from the updated records of Illinois ACORN at the Wisconsin Historical Society now definitively establishes that Obama was a member of the New Party. He also signed a “contract” promising to publicly support and associate himself with the New Party while in office.

Hit the link to view Kurtz’s ample evidence. The MSM, who ran cover for Obama on this issue (among others) in 2008 are certain to be expressing mea culpas in the coming days. (Just kidding.)

This news has not only made the rounds in the conservative media here in the United States, but is making news overseas in a German paper; Kopp Online: Ist Obama ein Kommunist?

Here is a rough translation of what is being reported about Dear Leader overseas:

But the fact (is ) that Obama has many connections to people who are involved in the international communist movement. The question that we do not dare to ask is, of course, why Obama concealing his ideological beliefs. Many will reply that it was surely only a coincidence that he has just started on the birthday of Karl Marx his campaign. Many will reply that ignorance is the reason that Obama has a Marxist activists (Van Jones) has been appointed as his Special Representative for the Green Jobs Initiative. And many claim to be, it did not matter that Obama’s former mentor Frank Marshall Davis, a member of the Communist Party.

As the journalist Stanley Kurtz Obama looked past as a “community organizer” he began by the question: “What in the world makes such a> community organizer, ‘” The answer to this question gives us Kurtz, in his book Radical-In -Chief: Barack Obama: The Untold Story of American Socialism. According to Kurtz were “Barack Obama’s colleagues and mentors to the most sophisticated and influential crypto-communist> Community organizer ‘of the country. Their strategies for political transformation and the social changes shape the Obama administration to date. ”

Kurtz was initially not Obama a communist, but now he revised this misjudgment. “During the election campaign of 2008 I did not hesitate to call Obama a radical,” Kurtz said in an interview. “But not even I would have thought at that time that he literally is a Communist. . When I examined his past, I discovered a clear communist activities, I discovered a phase in his life where he was literally a classic Marxist-Leninist “When asked why the press Obama’s Marxist background have not been revealed, said Kurtz,” There have been no real efforts to verify Obama during the presidential campaign. Such material, which came to light at that time was completely ignored by the mainstream press, and indeed deliberately and systematically. ”

When Obama was in 1983, a Marxist-Leninist, why he became a member of the Democratic Party and liberalized so that his views? That was just a matter of tactics, said Kurtz. In the ’80s saw Obama and his communist comrades, that it would not succeed to trigger a communist revolution in the United States, so they changed their tactics. Kurtz explained this change as follows: “Their idea was to get a sort of de facto control over the economy from the bottom up – not by a nationalization decreed from above, but by working at the local level through ‘community organizing'” .

What Kurtz is saying is true, exactly. In 1983 I was invited to attend a meeting organized by the Communists in the academic lecture hall on the campus of the University of California at Irvine. On the tables in the lobby of the Communist Party literature was available and there was a rousing speech. Oddly enough, the talk dealt more of strategy than of anything else. The speaker, a visiting professor, said that the Americans were blinded by the “American dream”, they would not vote for socialism – not yet, at least for now.

What must come, he said, would be another Great Depression. It would need to awaken the spirit of socialism in America. In preparation for the inevitable economic crisis to undermine the Communists, the Democratic Party would be on their left wing. Your ultimate goal here is to choose a crypto-communist president.

Of course it sounded in 1983 simply crazy. But now it sounds like something that could have been done. As for the Democratic Party, this was actually infiltrated by communists. At a town meeting earlier this year, Congressman Allen West was asked how high “percentage of genuine Marxists was” among the members of Congress? West said this was a valid question, and figured among the Democrats, there would be about 78-81 Communists. “They call this the Congressional Progressive Caucus,” he said.

Deputy Allen West has lost his mind? No, sadly, his view is very realistic. The New Zealand politician Trevor Loudon held in March, a lecture on the history of communist infiltration. According to Loudon the central secret of the success of communism is to enforce the ability of a small Marxist-Leninist Party, its politics as “the law”. In America, this means that to gain control of the Democratic Party. “They like the” hold for far-fetched, Loudon said, but that’s not it. And he listed a number of examples of successful Communist activities within the political system. How about naming the campaign, a national holiday after Cesar Chavez socialist trade unionists, which was supported by President Obama. This campaign was led by Evelina Alarcon, who is, according to Loudon, the chairman of the Communist Party of the United States in the district of Southern California.

The author, Jeff Nyquist is a conservative American journalist who writes for Financial Sense.

His bio as provided by Kopp Online:

Jeff Nyquist is a renowned expert on the Soviet long-term strategy and commented on for many years, the world’s political events in light of the continuing Communist threat. He runs the website that educates about the strategic interaction between the world powers and shows that Russia and China to work in a way against the West, which is not understood by the Western elites.

The reason I know about this is he linked to my post, Video: Trevor Loudon Explains Communist Infiltration In The United States in his piece.

The Best Videos From Today’s Judiciary Hearing: Issa, Gohmert, Gowdy, and Chaffetz Grill Holder on Fast and Furious

I had to leave in the middle of today’s House Judiciary hearing, so I missed the best parts. I’m getting caught up now,  and am embedding some of the highlights for your enjoyment. Yes, I do think something is going to come of this. Holder is so clearly lying and obstructing, it can  no longer be in dispute.

Your first clue will be Holder’s repeated attempts to blame Fast and Furious on a much different gunwalking operation during the Bush administration known as Wide Receiver. If you had taken a shot  every time Holder referred to Wide Receiver in this hearing, you would have been unconscious  by the end of it.

In his  attempt to explain away some damning gunwalking emails, Holder maintained that they were referring to Wide Receiver, after an incredulous Chaffetz had read them aloud, clearly referring to Fast and Furious.

Issa is clearly losing patience with the lies and obstruction  – the first attempt Holder made to obfuscate his answer, was met with, “no, Mr. Attorney General, you’re not a good witness, a good witness answers the questions asked. His second attempt to obfuscate, was met with, “Look, I don’t want to hear about …”

I knew there would be fireworks…

House Dems proceeded to circle the wagons.

Rep Chaffetz’s (UT) lethal line of questioning caught Holder in today’s biggest whopper when he read a letter from Jason Weinstein to James Trusty concerning Fast and Furious gun-walking , and Holder tried to pin it on the Bush era “Wide Receiver” program:

“I think we went through this exercise before, that referred to Wide Receiver, not Fast and Furious”, Holder maintained.

“No it doesn’t it says, Fast and Furious….it’s specific to Fast and Furious, that is not true, Mr. Attorney General, ” Chaffetz countered.

Rep Louie Gohmert (TX) has been trying unsuccessfully for over a year to obtain documents regarding the Holy Land Foundation prosecution. The DoJ has disclosed documents to the convicted terrorists in the Holy Land Foundation prosecution, but has not yet disclosed them to Congress.

“When I hear an Atty General of the United States come before us and say somewhat cavalierly, there is a political aspect to this office it offends me beyond belief – your job is justice, Mr. Attorney General. It’s justice across the board, and that’s what’s been so troublesome around here.”

“Why in the world would your department be more considerate of the terrorists than the people who are members  in Congress who can vote to defund your department?”

Then Gohmert turned to Fast and Furious, asking if Holder is any closer to finding out  who authorized the operation.

Of course he got nowhere with that line of questioning.

Rep Gowdy told Holder, after reading a statement from him alleging that he is singled out for criticism because of he is a progressive;

“I’m not a critic of yours because you consider yourself to be a progressive. I’m a critic of yours because I don’t think the Attorney General of the country should have any political ideology whatsoever.”

Here, Eric Holder admitted he doesn’t know how many people were killed by weapons from “Operation Fast and Furious” (June 7, 2012).

Yesterday, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform released new documents that showed senior DOJ officials were informed of gunwalking in Fast and Furious.

Information contained in the wiretaps had been subpoenaed by the Oversight Committee, but the Justice Department had refused to turn them over to investigators.  Obtaining them answers some of the questions the Committee and House leadership have warned Attorney General Holder he must fully address to avoid contempt proceedings.

I think it is safe to say that Holder has failed to fully address the questions the committee had for him.

Is a contempt citation next?

Must see video at link:

Key quotes: “Multiple members of our committee both career attorneys and members of Congress and have read the wiretaps that were supplied to us by whistleblowers and reached the conclusion that if you read them you knew they knew they were gunwalking.”

“The Atty Gen said I read these wiretaps I do not believe you would see gunwalking in them.”

“He’s willing to be disingenuous in live sworn testimony before the Congress….”

Greta, “Let me cut to the chase, you said disingenuous, did he lie?”

Issa: “Yes.”

Issa said he is ready to set a date for contempt floor vote. Speaking of Boehner, who has to give the go-ahead, he said, “we have agreed to a process, and the timeline for that process is just about over.”

Later he said, “I believe the Speaker is close to the end of his rope…..I’m comfortable that he’ll make the decision relatively soon.”

He expects a decision to be made before the 4th of July.

We will see.

House Judiciary Committee Hearing, Today: Holder on the Hotseat, Again

This morning at 9:30 a.m., the House Judiciary Committee is holding a hearing to question Attorney General Eric Holder on Operation Fast and Furious.

You can watch it live on CSPAN, here, the House Judiciary video webcast, here.

Issa set the stage for today’s hearing with a clear message to Holder: “Lead, follow or get out of the way.”

“When you’re attorney general, you don’t get to follow,” Issa added during an appearance on the Fox News Channel on Wednesday morning. “So [Holder needs to] lead or resign.”

On Tuesday, Issa announced that his committee had obtained evidence proving that senior Department of Justice officials approved the tactics used in Fast and Furious.

In a letter to Holder, Issa specifically said his committee has “obtained copies of six wiretap applications in support of seven wire intercepts utilized during Fast and Furious.” Those documents, he said, “show that immense detail about questionable investigative tactics was available to the senior officials who reviewed and authorized them.”

Issa explained that the documents prove that Holder and other Justice Department officials in the Obama administration provided false statements to Congress.

It’s sounds to me like these documents are about as close to a smoking gun Issa’s going to get in his investigation.

The DOJ’s #2 man, James Cole also made a false statement to congress – par for the course, apparently, for these folks:

Issa also told Holder in that letter that Deputy Attorney General James Cole — the DOJ’s No. 2 in command — made a false statement to Congress as recently as May 2012. “In a May 15, 2012 letter, the deputy attorney general reiterated the department’s position that the ‘inappropriate tactics used in Fast and Furious … were not initiated of authorized by department leadership in Washington.’”

“We now know that statement is false,” Issa said.

One hopes that eventually Democrats will find it impossible to continue circling the wagons around this manifestly corrupt Attorney General.
I expect to see  fireworks at this hearing.
