Defiant Obama Quadruples Down: “No, We Won’t Be Apologizing”

Virtually everyone knows that team Obama is conducting a malicious smear campaign against Romney.  Everyone knows they’re just trying to get the focus off of his abysmal record, and knock Romney off balance.

Democrat operative and former Howard Dean campaign manager, Joe Trippi knows the score. He told Brit Hume on FOX News Sunday today, “I don’t think he’s a felon. I don’t think he did anything that is a felony or perjury. I don’t think anyone in the Obama Administration or the Obama Campaign believe that.” But they’re running with the charges anyway. The truth is all relative in this game.

Karl Rove thinks Obama’s gutter politics may end up hurting him:

“If the president continues to make this charge — this outrageous charge — that his campaign had that Romney is guilty of felonious activity [and] committed a felony, that’s a big mistake,” said Rove on Fox News Sunday.

“Remember who’s up for grabs in this election: independent voters. They were drawn to Obama in 2008 because he was going to change politics and raise and elevate the political discourse. This is gutter politics of the worst Chicago sort.”

But Obama has no intention of backing off his smears.

“No, we won’t be apologizing,” Obama sneered when pressed by a VA television station, today, about whether an apology would be forthcoming. “Mr. Romney claims that he’s Mr. Fix-it for the economy because of his business experience”.

Romney demanded an apology last week after Obama’s campaign suggested he may have broken the law by misrepresenting his position at private-equity firm Bain Capital, part of an assault on the former executive’s business career and personal wealth that may be hurting him in the polls.

“No, we won’t be apologizing,” Obama said in an interview with a Virginia television station WAVY.

“Mr. Romney claims that he’s Mr. Fix-it for the economy because of his business experience. And so I think voters entirely legitimately want to know, well what exactly was that business experience?” Obama said.

Well, I’m a voter, and I don’t need a lying Marxist speaking for me, thank you very much.

See, we already have an explanation on the question of Romney’s position at Bain, and from far more trustworthy and “legitimate” sources than the scurrilous Obama campaign, who by the way,  are now saying, it’s ‘impossible to know’ if Romney’s a criminal re Romney’s use of tax shelters.

A few months ago, The Washington Free Breacon noted that the Obama’s also use tax shelters:

President Obama and his wife, Michele, gave a total of $48,000 in tax-free gifts to their daughters, according to tax records made public on Friday.

The president and his wife separately gave each daughter a $12,000 gift under a section of the federal tax code that exempts such donations from federal taxes.

There is nothing illegal about the president’s taking advantage of this tax shelter, but it does raise eyebrows given that he has lamented the myriad tax exemptions used by the wealthy—“millionaires and billionaires” like himself—to pay less in taxes.

Psssst. Romney campaign: It’s time to go there.

Romney Asks For Apology After Obama’s Dishonest and Over the Top Bain Attacks, New Obama Ad Basically Gives Romney the Finger

We knew this was going to be a hellish election season. But my God. We’ve got Obama campaign officials smearing Romney now as a  possible felon over absolutely bogus and absolutely discredited allegations, and not only does this classless, graceless POTUS not apologize for a campaign smear one of his own surrogates called “a little bit too far”,  his ridiculous  “truth team” puts out this “Up Yours” video as their justification.

That video should be shown far and wide. Everything Mitt said in those attacks was true. Too bad the radical Marxist doesn’t like having the light of truth  shined on his radicalism. We understand the rage of a malignant narcissist squirming under the spotlight. But nothing Mitt said was over the line. Nowhere does Mitt suggest that Obama is a felon, or has even broken the law. Maybe it’s time to really take the gloves off and start talking about Obama’s impeachable offenses.

Obama wants to play hardball, let’s play hardball.

The top comment under for this video is typical Obot stuff so content warning:

Mitt needs an apology. Wahhhhh.

Oversensitive little pussy ass rich boy.

John Nolte, Big Government: Obama Unloads Vicious Attack Ad: Romney ‘The Problem’ with America:

Commenting on another nasty Obama ad, “Firms”:

….this Obama attack is extremely heavy-handed and even uncomfortable to watch. It’s a vicious, demeaning, and mean-spirited ad meant to humiliate its target. This is far from the inspirational, hope-changey Barack Obama voters fell for in 2008 and a very different approach than the Bush campaign’s towards Kerry. Though they mocked Kerry, it was with a much lighter touch. Whether you supported Kerry or not, you almost had to laugh.

Far be it for me to question the wisdom of Obama’s Chicago operation, but if any of this is hurting Romney, it likely isn’t or won’t be the Bain stuff — it’s how the Romney campaign responds. Obama’s trying to get into Romney’s head, keep his people on defense, and make them look incompetent. And this is where Romney could really hurt himself.

In many ways, John McCain lost in ’08 because he looked hapless and erratic instead of like a leader. The mismanagement of his campaign fed this narrative, especially near the end. This, I think, is the arch-narrative the Obama campaign is aiming for with Romney. If Romney’s campaign can be made to look defensive and ineffective, that undercuts Romney’s compelling biography as a competent, effective leader more than any offshore account or SEC filing.

The Romney campaign needs to put above all else — not rebutting charges that have already debunked — but running a competent campaign.

I want to see an ad showing all the ways Obama has “outsourced” and otherwise killed jobs. They need to get on that, STAT.

Weasel Zippers: No Joke: White House Says Obama Wants A “Highbrow” Debate Same Day Campaign Releases Ad Mocking Romney For Singing “America the Beautiful”…

Their arrogance blinds them.

Via The Hill:

The White House said Saturday that President Obama wants to have a “highbrow debate” with Mitt Romney, even as it touted a new ad hitting the GOP candidate’s business record and mocking his singing of “America the Beautiful.”\

Uh huh…Mitt tried “high brow” already: (“Obama’s a nice guy who’s in over his head.”)

I think those days are over.

Collectivist President Devalues Achievement: “If You’ve Got a Business — You Didn’t Build That”

At a campaign stop in Roanoke, Virginia, Obama took the opportunity to devalue achievement and hard work, by literally telling business owners that they didn’t “build that.” Successful Americans didn’t get where they are without “somebody else making it happen.”

Video via Gateway Pundit:

The mask slips a little bit more, every day, doesn’t it?

“If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own,” he said. “You didn’t get there on your own.”

“The point is, is that when we succeed, we succeed because of our individual initiative, but also because we do things together,” he said. “There are some things, just like fighting fires, we don’t do on our own.  I mean, imagine if everybody had their own fire service.  That would be a hard way to organize fighting fires.”

“If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help,” he said. “There was a great teacher somewhere in your life.  Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive.  Somebody invested in roads and bridges.  If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that.  Somebody else made that happen.  The Internet didn’t get invented on its own.  Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”

Deep breath.

Okay, obviously, people work together to make things happen. Obviously, many things are interconnected. And any honest businessman will give credit where credit is due in helping his business get off the ground. But  the Collectivist in Chief  goes overboard. He wants us to believe  that they didn’t get where they are without the government’s help, when more often than not, the government is a hindrance to small business.

For a United States President to go out there and tell business owners, “you didn’t build that” is the height of arrogance.  Could there ever be a clearer signal that he’s sworn off the white middle class male vote?

Earlier this year, it was suggested that part of Obama’s campaign strategy would be to isolate and attack “privileged” straight white males, as personified by Mitt Romney.

In a wide-ranging symposium Monday called “The State of Race in America,” award-winning journalist Jose Antonio Vargas said that “in some ways, the soul of the heterosexual white man is a stake” in the 2012 election.

His comments were part of a larger monologue on political and social power moving to minority groups, which he said will hurt former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney’s campaign.

“For everybody in this country in which America’s always been a fight,” he said, “They’re looking at him [Mitt Romney], in which everything’s been given, and we’re going, ‘OK, do you see yourself? Do you fully and comprehensively see yourself and how you fit in this?’”
