Friday Night Quick Links – Mitt Now Has More Campaign Cash on Hand than Obama!

Mitt lagged way behind Obama in campaign donations, early last Spring, but since he secured the nomination in April, he’s been out-fundraising him, while the Campaigner in Chief has been spending his campaign cash like a drunken sailor. Now the unpopular incumbent  lags behind his rival.

Via The Washington Post:

Mitt Romney and the Republican National Committee have grown a more than $25 million cash advantage over President Obama, according to just-filed Federal Election Commission reports.

Romney; who trailed Obama by $90 million at the end of March, now leads the incumbent president $170 million to $144 million in cash on hand, thanks to a surge in GOP fundraising and heavy spending by the Democrats early in the 2012 campaign.

President Obama’s campaign spent $38 million on ads and $58 million overall in June, while Romney’s campaign spent less than half that and continue to build up its reserves for the fall campaign.

Obama’s campaign raised $46 million in June, including a $17 million transfer from a joint fundraising committee with the Democratic National Committee, but it spent $58 million and saw its cash on hand fall to $97.5 million.

Jay Cost, Weekly Standard: Morning Jay: Are the Polls Skewed Toward Obama?:

A topic that inevitably receives a lot of focus during election season is the partisan spread of the major media polls. Conservatives regularly complain that the polls are tilted against their side, and thus favor the Democrats.

They have a point.

Moonbattery: US Government Conspires With Mexico to Increase Food Stamp Rolls:

Our rulers will go to any length to get as many potential voters as possible hooked on the addictive and pernicious drug known as other people’s money:

USDA has an agreement with Mexico to promote American food assistance programs, including food stamps, among Mexican Americans, Mexican nationals and migrant communities in America.

“USDA and the government of Mexico have entered into a partnership to help educate eligible Mexican nationals living in the United States about available nutrition assistance,” the USDA explains in a brief paragraph on their “Reaching Low-Income Hispanics With Nutrition Assistance” web page. “Mexico will help disseminate this information through its embassy and network of approximately 50 consular offices.”

This goes nicely with our government’s aggressive Spanish language ad campaign to sign up ever more moochers for food stamps.

No worries, purr USDA bureaurats:

“USDA does not perform outreach to immigrants that are undocumented, and therefore not eligible for SNAP [i.e., food stamps].”

Everybody is posting this video of TX Rep Louis Gohmert grilling our dangerously corrupt and incompetent DHS Chief,  Janet Napolitano at a House Judiciary hearing. Gohmert was concerned that Mohamed Elibiary, a member of the Homeland Security Advisory Council, accessed a sensitive database of state and local intelligence reports on a fishing expedition for examples of  “Islamophobia” in the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS). Napolitano responded by basically accusing him of Islamophobia:

Congressman Michelle Bachmann-along with several other members of the House of Representatives are calling for an investingation into Foreign influences in the White House from Islamic extremists. The link to the below 16 page report outlines an alarming set of facts that would be shocking to most Americans:

Meanwhile, a bill that included language to keep Obama from betraying defense secrets passed the House, this week:

The Hill: House votes to prevent Obama sharing defense data with Russia:

The House approved language on Thursday that would prevent the Obama administration from sharing classified information about U.S. missile defense technology with Russia.

The language was proposed by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) as an amendment to the 2013 Department of Defense spending bill and quickly approved by voice vote. Brooks said he proposed it as a reaction to the hot-mic conversation between President Obama and then-Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, in which he said he would have more flexibility on the issue of U.S. involvement in European missile defense after the November election.

Has The United States Congress ever had to pass legislation to protect the country from being sold out by a President before? Is this not unprecedented?

Is it any wonder that a Super PAC of Navy Seals has formed to defeat this traitor?

SOFA, Special Operations For America:

Whitefish, Montana – State Senator and Former Commander at SEAL TEAM SIX; Ryan Zinke,
has announced the formation of Special Operations for America (SOFA). SOFA will advocate for
the election of Mitt Romney and like-minded candidates who want to bring true leadership
back to Washington and who believe in permanent and enduring American Exceptionalism.
Leadership that does not apologize and bow to the world for America’s greatness or politicize
military operations for political gain. SOFA stands against the core threats to National Security
created and unchecked by the Obama administration. SOFA will strike to ensure that veterans
and our families receive the care and benefits their sacrifice has earned.

If Obama thought he was going to win votes with his epic “I killed Bin Laden” bona fides,  he can think again.

“Navy SEAL’s, Special Operations Personnel and Veteran’s across America have been outraged since Barack Obama conveniently took credit for killing Osama Bin Laden for political gain,” a statement announcing the loss of SOFA said. “The active duty military has no voice as they are forbidden to publicly engage in the political campaign process and it is career suicide for senior military leaders to speak out against the President.”

Mr. Zinke, who has frequently slammed the president’s handling of the raid that killed Osama bin Laden, reiterated his criticisms of the operation.

“The President has failed and he is jeopardizing the safety of our troops, their families and our National security for political gain. Obama has exposed the identity of special operations units, leaked classified information, and limited the rules of engagement of forces on the ground,” said Mr. Zinke. “For those who have taken an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, it is a call of duty to take back America from a Commander-in-Chief that is incapable of understanding the sacrifices that have been made for the values that have made America great.”
