Oscar Peterson’s Hymn to Freedom nicely sung by an unnamed children’s choir:
Lyrics:
When every heart joins every heart and together yearns for liberty,
That’s when we’ll be free.
When every hand joins every hand and together moulds our destiny,
That’s when we’ll be free.
Any hour any day, the time soon will come when men will live in dignity,
That’s when we’ll be free.
When every man joins in our song and together singing harmony,
That’s when we’ll be free.
Father Andrew Kemberling, Pastor at St. Thomas More Catholic Parish offered this powerful invocation at the 2012 Colorado Republican State Assembly and Convention in Denver on Saturday, April 14, 2012. This video has been making the rounds for good reason:

Dang, that priest was awesome. I wish he was a Lutheran.

I wish there were more Catholic priests like him.

Simple, stirring and desperately necessary words, which we need to hear from far more politicians. Someday we may even have a presidential candidate who can speak this clearly about the threat to liberty from the Left. We can dream, anyway.

I like him.
I think he’d make my pet liberal descend into a sputtering paroxysms of unrighteous indignation.
