Obama: “We Tried Our Plan and it Worked” Rush: “He Just Admitted His Plan Was To Destroy The Economy”

Rush Limbaugh  has long maintained that Obama is in the process of destroying the economy on purpose. He went out on that limb early in 2009, before most conservative pundits were willing to go there.

Last Spring, after over three years of Obamanomics, Limbaugh said:

Eight hundred billion that they want you to think that’s coming from someplace but it’s gonna end up in the private sector, but where did they get the $800 billion?  They got it from the exact place they’re putting it.  There was no stimulus, by definition, in mathematics, whatever.  The $800 billion that Obama supposedly injected in the private sector had to be taken from the private sector first.  It was a wash, a net zero.  There was no new money.  All there was was redistribution of money.  One of the biggest scams ever run.  Everybody that’s not aware of this, “Wow, man, this is good,” but notice that it didn’t work.  All these economic forecasts for economic growth, wrong by half, wrong by factors of two, it didn’t work.  It couldn’t work.  It never had a chance to work because it’s impossible.  It was word games.  And so we end up with the economy growing in 2011 at 1.7%, after forecasting 4.5%.  Look at the ChiCom economy.  The Mexican economy is growing at about 4%, folks.

And the economic picture looks bleaker for this country, every day.

In spite of this, Monday night in Oakland, Obama told his audience, “Just like we’ve tried their plan, we’ve tried our plan and it worked!”

It worked?

Rush wants to know if Obama really believes that, because if he does,  hes admitting that  his plan was to destroy the economy. The only other possibility Rush could come up with was that  he must believe his crowd is so stupid that they will believe anything – something I’ve addressed here, before. Clearly, Obama has no respect for his audiences, or he wouldn’t constantly lie to their their faces.

Video: American Crossroads “Replays” Obama’s “Gaffe”

Karl Rove’s evil superPAC, American Crossroads has an effective new ad that doesn’t “slam” or “bash” Obama. It laughs at him.

And it made me laugh, too. It’s *spit out diet coke all over the keyboard* good:

OMG, Karl Rove, you magnificent bastard.

Ed Morriseey at Hot Air:

BuzzFeed reports that Team Obama plans to “go nuclear” on Romney over this attack, but the threats involve pretty much the same kind of attack on Romney’s record as governor the Obama campaign ran in May and June:

In conjunction with OFA, we’re going to turn the page tomorrow on Mitt Romney’s trumped up, out of context fact-checked-to-death BS about the President and small business and set the record straight on how Mitt Romney has a horrible record on small business, a failed record on jobs and who is advocating for policies that are great for millionaires, billionaires, big oil and corporate America – but that would devastate small businesses and stifle job growth and small business expansion. We’ll being done this with on the ground events in states which are coming together as we speak and with a national press conference call which will include small business owners and others – including at least one person from MA – who will speak about Romney’s failed record and failed policies as well as President Obama’s record as a consistent advocate for small businesses.

Sounds like the same ol’ same ol’ b.s. that hasn’t been moving the dial for lo these many months they’ve been trying it.

They’re getting desperate. Get ready for a major offensive attacking the Romneys’ Mormon religion in the coming weeks.

AoSHQ: New Ad: “Obama Isn’t Working”:

This is from HQ pal @anthropocon, who created the ad after it was suggested by @RBPundit over at The Right Sphere.

The Obama people can’t even produce rapid response ads. Obama’s super-PAC ads are so bad they are getting mocked on MSNBC.

By contrast, the Romney people are putting out killer ads left and right..

Go watch. We’ve got smart and talented people on the right. But most of all we’ve got the truth.

Via Breitbart TV:

Obama’s “I am not a Communist” ad verses what he said:

Hump Day Link-Around: “These Aren’t the Marxist Attacks on Job Creators You’re Looking For”

It’s been kinda fun to watch the Obama camp in full damage control mode over Obama’s Marxist attack on business.

“Obama was taken out of context” has been their main defense,as Obama Says He Has “No Patience” For Attacks On His “You Didn’t Build That” Comment…

SEATTLE – President Barack Obama said Tuesday that he’s losing his patience over the Republican attacks aimed at his “you didn’t build that” comment.

“I have to tell you, I generally have patience with what the other side says about me, that’s a requirement of this job,” Obama said during a $5,000-per-plate fundraiser here, according to the pool report.

“And if you don’t like folks talking about you, you probably shouldn’t run for president. The one thing I do have no patience for is this argument that somehow what I’m criticizing is success… I want to promote success,” Obama said.

Obama Claims He Didn’t Say “You Didn’t Build That,” So Why Is It Still on WH Website?

A nice point made by Conn Carroll this morning. As Obama flails wildly trying to claim he didn’t say what the entire planet knows he said, he’s apparently unaware his own press office website still has the remarks in their entirety.

Meanwhile, in a Jedi tour de force Axelrod, said Obama’s “You Didn’t Build That” remark Helps Their Campaign…

Obama personally appeared in a response ad released Tuesday pushing back against the attacks, an unusual move, and the DNC is planning a large-scale coordinated response.

“I was concerned when I saw the initial ad that it might be impactful,” Axelrod said on “Morning Joe.” “I’ve concluded that it’s not all that impactful. But the ad that we did in response got a very good response in the testing that we did. Because it pushes our message forward.”

“Everything seems to be in order…”

The message being pushed would appear to be more of the  “we do everything in America, together” collectivist claptrap as repeated by Obama AGAIN on the campaign trail, Monday:

“We built this country together. That’s how we sent a man to the moon. That’s how we built medical breakthroughs that saved millions of lives. If Mr. Romney does not understand that, then he doesn’t understand what it takes to build an economy where everybody has a shot to succeed.”

You did nothing to build this country, fool. Free loaders and agitators (aka “community organizers”) do nothing to “build this country”. People of your ilk have been grinding America down for a half a century.

As Romney so eloquently stated:

This is an ideology which says hey, we’re all the same here, we ought to take from all and give to one another and that achievement, individual initiative and risk-taking and success are not to be rewarded as they have in the past. It’s a very strange and in some respects foreign to the American experience type of philosophy. We have always been a nation that has celebrated success of various kinds. The kid that gets the honor roll, the individual worker that gets a promotion, the person that gets a better job. And in fact, the person that builds a business. And by the way, if you have a business and you started it, you did build it. And you deserve credit for that. It was not built for you by government. And by the way, we pay for government. Government doesn’t come free. The people who begin enterprises, the people who work in enterprises, they’re the ones paying for government. So his whole philosophy is an upside-down philosophy that does not comport with the American experience. And if we want to get people working again–and that’s my priority–if we want to get people working again, we have to celebrate success and achievement and not demonize it and denigrate the people who have worked hard, who are smart, who have made the kinds of investments to build a brighter future.”

But oh dear dearie me…I believe there may have been a racist dog whistle in there. I’m sure you saw it, too: NBC’s Mitchell Rants: Romney Using ‘Dog Whistle’ Language Against Obama:

On her 1 p.m. et hour show on MSNBC on Tuesday, host and NBC chief foreign affairs correspondent Andrea Mitchell decried Mitt Romney labeling President Obama’s big-government philosophy “foreign” to American capitalism: “…he is still using the term ‘foreign’ and I’m telling you, this is happening every day, it is a dog whistle.”

Whenever you say something that’s devastatingly true about Obama – it’s a dog whistle. The truth is a dog whistle to the gatekeepers.

The Mental Recession: Obama Continually Using His Daughters to Promote Abortion:

The President continues to view childbirth as a punishment, using his daughters and possible future grandchildren as supporting arguments in the pro-abortion fight, and in reasoning for government funding of Planned Parenthood clinics.

Politico reports:

President Barack Obama got personal with his stump speech Tuesday.

“Mr. Romney wants to get rid of funding for Planned Parenthood. I think that’s a bad idea,” Obama said to about 950 donors at the Oregon Convention Center as he highlighted differences with Mitt Romney. “I’ve got two daughters. I want them to control their own health care choices.”

Politico is acting as if this is a new tactic, but the President has been using his own daughters in the War on Children consistently, citing children as economic hindrances to a better life (h/t LifeNews).

LifeNews: Obama Responds to Abortion Death: More Planned Parenthood Funding:

President Barack Obama has responded to the recent death of a young black woman from a botched legal abortion at a Chicago, Illinois Planned Parenthood clinic. Although not directly responding, Obama’s reaction on the campaign trail is for more taxpayer funding for the abortion business.

As LifeNews reported, Tonya Reaves, 24, died late Friday night after having a second-trimester abortion at a Chicago-area Planned Parenthood clinic. She died after a hemorrhage, with a cervical dilation and evacuation, according to the medical examiner’s office following an autopsy after the abortion that claimed her life.

Obama has not officially responded to Reaves’ death, but, yesterday, Obama once again called for more taxpayer funding of the abortion business during a campaign speech in Portland.

So what’s Government Motors, *Obama’s greatest triumph*, been up to lately?

Seton Motley, Big Government: General Motors Likes ‘Being Able to Fire People’:

Recall the gi-normous Leftist kerfuffle kicked up around Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney’s utterly uncontroversial utterance:

“I like being able to fire people who provide services to me.”

Which is a perfectly reasonable perspective.  So of course the Left went apoplectic.

We the Taxpayers handed General Motors (GM) and Chrysler $82 billion in bailout coin – on which we’re poised to lose $30+ billion – ostensibly to save gigs.  But from the outset, they’ve been canning people all over the place.

2009 was not a good year if you were a Republican-donating GM or Chrysler dealer.

(M)ultiple (auto bailout recipient Chrysler and General Motors) dealers who have been closed are found to have contributed millions to Republicans and mere hundreds to Obama….

“It became clear to us that Chrysler does not see the wisdom of terminating 25 percent of its dealers. It really wasn’t Chrysler’s decision. They are under enormous pressure from the President (Obama)’s automotive task force,” said attorney Leonard Bellavia.

And then there is GM Europe.  Which has for years been dismal.  And President Barack Obama-appointee CEO Dan Akerson has been doing his Grim Reaper impersonation.

GM Heads Roll in Europe

GM intends to shed another 500 managers in Europe, adding to the 8,000 factory workers let go over the past three years as part of a massive though only modestly successful push to cut costs.

The House member makes the case that a conservative approach is the best hope for keeping the Internet full of win.

On the national stage, California Republican Darrell Issa has been known for a curiously colorful variety of things. As chairman of the U.S. House of Representative’s lead oversight committee, Issa, has been the thorn in the Obama Administration’s sideover the “Fast and Furious” gun-walking operation that found Attorney General Eric Holder in congressional contempt and how the Department of Energy’s billions in stimulus dollars are being spent. It was six-term, 58-year-old Issa who was the responsible for not letting Georgetown law student Sandra Fluke testify at that contraception hearing. He’s also the entrepreneur who made a fortune in car alarms and other electronics, money he used to fund the 2003 recall of Governor Gray Davis. It is, rather famously, Issa’s voice that says “Protected by Viper…Stand back!” in the ’90s TV commercials.

But in the tech world, the congressman from north of San Diego is known for something quiteparticular. Darrell Issa emerged during this winter’s debate over the Stop Online Piracy Act as a politician willing to question Washington dogma about how you go about protecting copyright online. Issa and a suddenly swelling band of allies asked tough, tech-savvy question about what the legislation would do to the Internet’s workings: the effect of website blackouts on the domain-name system, for example, and the liabilities the bill would place on sites likeYouTube and everyday blogs to patrol for infringement. Darrell Issa sounded the alarm over SOPA. The Internet came running.

Something is missing. If you look at Barack Obama’s calendar for 26th of April, 2011 you will see on his schedule at 10 AM “The President receives the Economic Daily Briefing,” after that nothing. According to the daily schedule released by the White House, Barack Obama hasn’t received his “daily” economic briefing for the past 15 months (The White House, Accessed 7/23/12).
I want to connect a few dots for you. Additional caution: you may want to sit down.1  Headline: Record number in government anti-poverty programs

In the 1970’s, a difficult economic time under Jimmy Carter with his “misery index,” 1 in 50 Americans was on food stamps. Today that number is 1 in 7. Just since 2008 the number of people in food stamp programs has doubled — and the Democrats spin this as one of their great accomplishments.

…I would never have thought that any politician could be proud of the fact that now 45 million Americans (and many illegals) are dependent on the government with the monthly SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program).

I was an avid reader of Ben Stein’s diary in the American Spectator for many years back when I subscribed. He’s the kind of guy who tries to find some good in everything.
His latest entry is a little depressing: Beyond Hope:

Europe is falling apart. Mr. Obama is doing nothing, zero, about it. NOTHING. A cratered Europe will have immense effects on the world economy. Europe’s economy, in toto, is larger than ours. Is Mr. Obama thinking of a rescue plan? Is he thinking about it at all? Does he even care if we go into another leg of recession as demand for U.S. exports to Europe corrects? What is he doing? Did he resign? Where is Mr. Geithner on this? Have we ever had a President without an international economic policy before? No. Never mind. Just go to sleep.

For the Love of God, Make it Stop: Obama Administration Opens Public Lands To More Solar Energy Projects

After wasting billions of taxpayer dollars “investing” in green energy failures, Obama administration is doubling down by opening public lands to more solar projects, while expediting solar project approvals(!) and “cutting upfront costs” for Obama cronies developers. This same administration at nearly every turn, has severely limited the development and availability of  other energy resources. It took three years to nix the Keystone Oil Pipeline, and is closing public lands to oil, gas and mineral drilling.

As the journal, National Affairs points out, “the result has been harmful not only to America’s energy sector, but to the nation’s economy more broadly.”

Worse yet, the president has impeded the energy sector not through an explicitly articulated policy pursued in the open for the public to evaluate and judge, but rather through a series of concealed and dishonest maneuvers. By applying pressure on private companies in secret, effectively shutting down projects through endless delay, refusing to consider applications for permits, and otherwise surreptitiously leveraging executive power, the administration has not merely pursued an agenda at odds with the nation’s economic needs. Along the way, Obama and his advisors have also distorted the regulatory process — seriously undermining its legitimacy.

It is in that context that this report should be viewed…

Via The Hill:

The Obama administration will open public lands in six Western states to more solar projects as part of a solar energy road map it publicized Tuesday.

The Interior Department set aside 285,000 acres in Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah for the initiative. Firms can apply for waivers to develop projects on an additional 19 million acres.

Calling the announcement a “proud moment,” Interior Secretary Ken Salazar told reporters in a conference call Tuesday that it reaffirms Obama’s commitment to solar power. He noted public lands hosted no solar projects when Obama took office.

Republicans want Obama to open public lands to more oil, gas and mineral drilling. They also oppose the president’s clean-energy push, saying it has done little to provide jobs when the country sorely needs them.

The areas selected in the plan minimize “resource conflict,” Salazar noted, meaning they avoid regions where solar development would edge out exploration for other natural resources.

The plan released Tuesday would expedite solar project approval while cutting some up-front costs for developers, Steve Black, counsel to the Interior Department, said Tuesday.

Well, that’s just wonderful.

Because their green policies have been such a smashing success, so far, haven’t they?

This Romney ad from last May needs to be updated…

The Washington Examiner reported:

Obama spent $90 billion of his stimulus package on green energy projects, including weatherization of buildings and development of electric vehicles. Yet, by the end of last year, just 16,100 people landed new jobs in the so-called green industry, Labor Department statistics show, far short of the 200,000 jobs the White House projected it would help create each year.

As John Sununu told Sean Hannity, last night:

“This president, his administration, and his campaign, they’re delusional. They’re out there trying to convince, first of all, themselves, that things are okay. And then they’re trying to convince their constituents. Einstein had a saying that insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. That, in my opinion, is a definition of incompetence.”

And the costs of this “insanity”, “incompetence”, or as some would say, “cynical” manipulations of the the marketplace in pursuit of an extreme agenda, have been enormous.

Having come to office with the clear ideological goal of paring back the energy infrastructure that undergirds America’s economy, and with the inchoate goal of a future in which we would “harness the sun and the winds and the soil to fuel our cars and run our factories,” President Obama undermined his own stated commitment to transparency and science. Along the way, his energy agenda has exacted enormous costs for the nation — in jobs, in private prosperity and public funds, and in the lost credibility of the regulatory process itself.
