DCCC Issues Public Apology To Sheldon Adelson For ‘Chinese prostitution’ Slander – Dems Getting Close to Jumping the Shark

More crow was on the menu for Democrats today, as their unhinged attempts to smear Republicans continued to miss the mark. The DCCC is in CYA mode after Sheldon threatened to sue them for saying  Adelson “personally approved of prostitution and knew of other improper activity at his company’s properties.”

Last month, DCCC spokesman Jesse Ferguson  blasted House Republicans from accepting donations from Adelson:

“It’s past time for House Republicans to reject the support of these groups funded by foreign money from a Chinese prostitution strategy,” Ferguson said.

A “Chinese prostitution strategy”? This, ladies and gentleman comes very close to jumping the shark –but it’s only July and I’m hesitant to confirm they’ve  fully cleared the shark, just yet.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee issued an apology to casino mogul and prominent Republican donor Sheldon Adelson on Thursday, after the billionaire threatened to sue the organization over comments insinuating he profited from prostitution at his Chinese resorts.

“In press statements issued on June 29 and July 2, 2012, the DCCC made unsubstantiated allegations that attacked Sheldon Adelson, a supporter of the opposing party,” the DCCC said in an e-mail released Thursday. “This was wrong.  The statements were untrue and unfair and we retract them.  The DCCC extends its sincere apology to Mr. Adelson and his family for any injury we have caused.”

Republicans, of course will pass on making  political hay out of  Obama, out on the campaign trail, last week,  thanking a gay porn king for organizing his fundraiser…,

“I want to thank someone who put so much work into this event, Terry Bean,” President Obama said as the crowd began to cheer. “Give Terry a big round of applause.”

Terry Bean is, according to the New York Post, a “gay-porn kingpin.”

“ONE of the ‘bundlers’ who has raised $50,000 to $100,000 for the Barack Obama presidential campaign is Terrence Bean, who once controlled the biggest producer of gay porn in America,” the Post reported in 2008, during the president’s first run the office. “Bean, the first gay on Sen. Obama’s National Finance Committee, is the sole trustee of the Charles M. Holmes Foundation, which owned Falcon Studios, Jock Studios and Mustang Studios, the producers of about $10 million worth of all-male pornography a year.”

“It’s past time for Obama to reject the support of  groups funded by porn money from gay porn kingpins”, said no one in particular.

Charles Krauthammer was able to secure a public apology from White House Communications Director Dan Pfeiffer earlier this week. After lashing out at Krauthammer on the White House blog for telling the truth about Obama’s return of the Winston Churchill bust in 2009, he was forced to eat some crow.  Turns out Krauthammer was right and Pffeiffer was factually incorrect.  Did I mention that Pfeiffer is the WH Communications Director?

Pew Research Center tried its hand at jumping the shark with a D+19 sample, Finding Obama ahead 51-41.

Do they think we don’t notice?

And now we have Dingy Harry Reid — Dingy, Dingy, Dingy…. surfing perilously close to a shark jump…telling the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the burden of proof is on Romney to disprove his spurious charges.

Sen. Harry Reid caused a stir this week when he told an interviewer that Mitt Romney hasn’t released more of his tax returns because “he didn’t pay taxes for 10 years.” On Wednesday, Reid doubled down on the charge. …

“I am not basing this on some figment of my imagination,” Reid said in a telephone call with Nevada reporters. “I have had a number of people tell me that.”

Asked to elaborate on his sources, Reid declined. “No, that’s the best you’re going to get from me.”

“I don’t think the burden should be on me,” Reid said. “The burden should be on him. He’s the one I’ve alleged has not paid any taxes. Why didn’t he release his tax returns?”

And here comes the shark…

For good measure, Reid also suggested Romney’s own deceased father would be disappointed in his son.

When a Democrat manages to turn Romney’s tax returns into a good story for Romney...and loses Jon Stewart ,… New York Magazine, inspires a profoundly unfortunate internet meme about himself, and Stacy McCain to write one of his best columns in weeks……….

Is an apology in Dingy’s near future?

Mitt Romney: It’s time for Harry Reid to put up or shut up…

“I’m looking forward to Harry Reid revealing his sources, and it will probably turn out to be the White House,” Romney said….

“People can smell this for what it is, and it’s not a pretty smell.”
