Democrat Media Complex is Just Showing its Mob-like Tendencies

Ann Coulter called it a couple of weeks ago. She told Megyn Kelly in a rare appearance on America Live, that The Democratic Party gets especially mob-like during an election”.

You will notice how they are always using images and not talking about facts like how Medicare will be bankrupt for anyone 45 years old or younger. It’s always ‘the Republicans want to put y’all in chains’ or ‘Bush drove the car into the ditch’ … Could we have actual facts?”

Host Megyn Kelly played a soundbite of MSNBC’s Chris Matthews saying that Republicans are “divisive” because of “nastiness” within the party, like “racists” criticizing food stamps and welfare, or “birthers” questioning the president’s birthplace.

“Any criticism of a Democratic policy is considered a personal attack,” Coulter shot back. “Welfare and food stamps are policies Obama has. He altered the 1996 welfare reform which was the requirement of work. … They have jettisoned the work requirement. That’s what Democrats call a below-the-belt ad while Biden is saying Republicans want to put black people back in chains? That’s supposed to be comparable?”

“Republicans are terrified people won’t understand what they are saying,” she added. “Democrats are terrified people will understand what they are saying. That’s why they talk in images and myths and slogans. And that works on a crowd.”

What we are watching in real time at the Republican convention is the Democratic media complex doing  its best to peddle myths and slogans to the ignorant mob.

Robert Stacy McCain summed it up quite nicely in his article for the American Spectator: The Exact Opposite of Truth

If you’ve been following major media coverage of the Republican National Convention, you know that the party’s presidential candidate is Todd Akin, who will campaign this fall on a platform of undiluted hatred and evil, with the able assistance of his running mate, Martin Bormann Jr. The Akin-Bormann ticket was personally selected by RNC Chairman Rush Limbaugh and endorsed by Karl Rove after consultation with a secretive cabal of right-wing Mormon billionaires. The Republican delegates who are assembling this week in Tampa are mere dupes hired by the Koch brothers to provide the superficial appearance of a “political convention” debating a platform and nominating candidates.

He left out the left’s absolute favoritest theme this election season: Republican raaaaacism.

Doug Ross picks up where he left off with  “A Conclave of Lily-White Racists”.

I refer, of course, to vintage media — the biggest collection of lily-white racists I’ve ever encountered. Consider the following incidents (all “coincidental”, mind you):

NBC and MSNBC inexcusably censored every… single… African-American and Latino who spoke at yesterday’s Republican convention — including two of the best speeches of the night, those of Mia Love and Artur Davis — in a move reminiscent of a modern-day Invisible Man

Chris Matthews openly expressed his inexcusable belief that only blacks are on foodstamps

ABC News broadcast Yahoo’s Washington bureau chief asserting that the Romneys “are happy to have a party [i.e., the convention] when black people drown”, presumably as a severe storm threatens the Gulf Coast

• And blatant coordination between the Democrat National Committee and old media — including The Los Angeles Times, Politico, and other outlets — appears intended to de-legitimize and dehumanize any minority who dares stand up to the Statist agenda

So what exactly is going on here?

Chairman Ann in her excellent tome, Demonic (essential reading), again has the answer:

Unable to win elections by appealing to the racist mob, the anti-civil rights wing of the Democratic Party disappeared virtually overnight. In the blink of an eye, the Democrats went from being the Party of Bull Connor to being the Party of Al Sharpton. The Democrats simply traded one mob constituency for a new one.

At the RNC in 2012 they are alternating between appealing to the the racialist mob and the feminist mob. That’s all. The same ol’ same ol’ but  on steroids this time around because they know their guy is LOSING.

Repulsive: Newly Released Emails Reveal how Obama Backed bin Laden Film to ‘Bask in the Glory’ and Win Reelection

Via Dan Riehl, The Daily Mail offers up another example of how the British media is willing to go where the US media, in their efforts to protect their precious one, won’t. The Obama administration’s collusion with makers of Zero Dark Thirty’ is galling to members of  the Special Op community who are already appalled at the amount of credit Obama has taken for himself for the killing of bin Laden.

The Obama administration gave its full backing to the official film version of the raid to kill Osama bin Laden in apparent attempt to give the President a pre-election boost.

Newly released documents and emails show that as far back as June last year the CIA thought ‘Zero Dark Thirty’ would be a ‘winning horse’ and gave classified briefings to director Kathryn Bigelow.

The film’s screenwriter Mark Boal also was allowed to make ‘deep dives’ into sensitive information to shape the script as intelligence officials developed a back-slapping and chummy relationship with him.

***

The revelation is likely to further anger the Navy SEALs who carried out the raid, some of whom are already furious with Obama for trying to claim too much credit for the assassination of the al-Qaeda leader.

In one email a senior CIA official boasted: ‘I can’t tell you how excited we all are about the project’ — and apparently vows to keep quiet about free tickets to the premiere.

The White House got in on the act as well, making it explicit it wanted to ‘have visibility’ so it could bask in the glory.

“It is just so unbelievably emotional to be with the families, for everybody involved. I mean for us and for them and for everyone,” she said in a telephone interview with The Times on Saturday. “I’m very aware of how emotional it is and how draining it is for the president and for me, too. Both of us. But I think we do support each other, not by saying anything so much, but just by the comfort of each other’s presence, both when we are with the families and then afterward when we are alone.”

Oh, sorry – did that seem out of place?

That’s because I was quoting Laura Bush from an interview with The Washington Times, 12/2008: EXCLUSIVE: Bush, Cheney comforted troops privately:

Mr. Bush, for instance, has sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who have died in the two wars, an enormous personal effort that consumed hours of his time and escaped public notice. The task, along with meeting family members of troops killed in action, has been so wrenching – balancing the anger, grief and pride of families coping with the loss symbolized by a flag-draped coffin – that the president often leaned on his wife, Laura, for emotional support.

“I lean on the Almighty and Laura,” Mr. Bush said in the interview. “She has been very reassuring, very calming.”

Mr. Bush also has met privately with more than 500 families of troops killed in action and with more than 950 wounded veterans, according to White House spokesman Carlton Carroll. Many of those meetings were outside the presence of the news media at the White House or at private sessions during official travel stops, officials said.

The first lady said those private visits, many of which she also attended, took a heavy emotional toll, not just on the president, but on her as well.

Then there’s Obama, who is all about making his “gutsy call”  oh-so very visible’ so he can bask in the glory.
The Judicial Watch report is here.

In addition to Judicial Watch’s pursuit of the bin Laden film records, the organization continues to fight in court for the release of post-mortem images of bin Laden and the alleged burial at sea. The Obama administration continues to withhold these records citing national security concerns.

“These new documents provide more backing to the serious charge that the Obama administration played fast and loose with national security information to help Hollywood filmmakers,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton. “No wonder we’ve had to fight one year of stonewalling from the administration.  These new documents show there is no doubt that Obama White House was intensely interested in this film that was set to portray President Obama as ‘gutsy.’”

Good God: Parents of Fallen SEAL Members got FORM LETTERS From Obama – Not Even Personally Signed By Him

My disgust for this abysmal “Commander in Chief” is so off the charts it can not be measured quantifiably.

On August 6, 2011, in an accident many say should never have happened, 30 US service members were killed in a CH-47 Chinook helicopter crash in the  Wardak province, Afghanistan. It is considered a breach of standard operating procedure to put a huge team of special ops into a National Guard Chinook. The operational procedures are designed to avoid losses like this. The families of these soldiers have not only never received an explanation for this breach. They didn’t even get so much as a handwritten letter of condolence from the President.

Gateway Pundit (link fixed) has the exclusive from Tampa:

It was the deadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the decade-long war in Afghanistan. 17 members of the elite Navy SEALs were killed in the crash.

Yesterday, Karen and Billy Vaughn, parents of Aaron Carson Vaughn, spoke at the Defending the Defenders forum sponsored by the Tea Party Patriots outside the RNC Convention in Tampa. Karen brought a copy of the form letter they were sent following their son’s death.

It was a form letter:

It was signed by an electric pen.

After Karen Vaughn reached out to the parents of the other SEALs killed in that crash, she discovered that their letters were identical.

This excellent 12/2008 Washington Times article about how Bush and  Cheney comforted troops privately bears repeating: EXCLUSIVE: Bush, Cheney comforted troops privately:

For much of the past seven years, President Bush and Vice President Dick Cheney have waged a clandestine operation inside the White House. It has involved thousands of military personnel, private presidential letters and meetings that were kept off their public calendars or sometimes left the news media in the dark.

Their mission: to comfort the families of soldiers who died fighting in Afghanistan and Iraq since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks and to lift the spirits of those wounded in the service of their country.

On Monday, the president is set to make a more common public trip – with reporters in tow – to Walter Reed Army Medical Center, home to many of the wounded and a symbol of controversy earlier in his presidency over the quality of care the veterans were receiving.

But the size and scope of Mr. Bush’s and Mr. Cheney’s private endeavors to meet with wounded soliders and families of the fallen far exceed anything that has been witnessed publicly, according to interviews with more than a dozen officials familiar with the effort.

“People say, ‘Why would you do that?’” the president said in an Oval Office interview with The Washington Times on Friday. “And the answer is: This is my duty. The president is commander in chief, but the president is often comforter in chief, as well. It is my duty to be – to try to comfort as best as I humanly can a loved one who is in anguish.”

Mr. Bush, for instance, has sent personal letters to the families of every one of the more than 4,000 troops who have died in the two wars, an enormous personal effort that consumed hours of his time and escaped public notice.

The task, along with meeting family members of troops killed in action, has been so wrenching – balancing the anger, grief and pride of families coping with the loss symbolized by a flag-draped coffin – that the president often leaned on his wife, Laura, for emotional support

The Obamas on the other hand, very ostentatiously had the White House  Christmas trees decorated with military themes, last year, (their last Christmas in the White House before the election) to show their  support for the troops – so there’s that.
