Seconding Ace: It’s Time to Boycott NBC

Ace of AoSHQ is P/Od, as we all should be: NBC Attacks Romney As Racist, In Prime Time:

At Newsbusters.

Boycotts never work but I really, really want to get a national boycott of NBC going. Just take them out. They’re barely hanging in as a network anyway. They are ready to fall, ready to become some kind of half-network like the CW.

I’ve been saying it all year; the Dem media complex is going full gangbusters with the race card this election season and NBC/MSNBC have been the worst offenders . I  tracked their race card deployments, last winter until the task became too overwhelming. The regime thinks it won in 2008 partially due to “white guilt”, so they paint the GOP as the party of racists and try to convince people to vote for the (half) black guy so they can feel good about themselves. It’s a psychological gambit one wouldn’t think would work a second time around – but look how much time and  effort they’re putting into it.

J.T. Hatter of The American Thinker had this to say about the Democrats’ racial demagoguery, this year:

The most poisonous aspect of this race is the Democratic Party political tactic of racial slander.  The Democrats can’t campaign on Obama’s stellar accomplishments as president, and they can’t attack Romney’s qualifications.  Most Americans agree with Romney’s policies.  So the progressives are playing the race card.
To the Democrats and the mainstream media, this is war.  They now have the political power to advance their leftist ideology and they will stop at nothing to keep it.  The progressives aren’t merely playing the race card.  They are deploying the entire deck in a scorched-earth policy.  If you oppose the Democrats, then you are a racist.

The current mainstream media propaganda sound bite lineup is as follows:

  • Voter ID and poll-watching equal suppression of minority votes.  Shades of Jim Crow.
  • Racist code words uttered by Republicans will be regularly discovered and interpreted by the media.
  • Racist remarks and actions by Democrats do not exist.  And those that do will be ignored.
  • Attacking President Obama is racist by definition.
  • Supporting or voting for Romney is racist by definition.

According to the Daily Caller, Matthew “Mudcat” Arnold, national campaign manager for the liberal super-PAC CREDO, toldsupporters in Aurora, CO that calling Republicans racist was a more effective tactic than criticizing their policies.Americans will pay the price for the racial hatred being incited by the Democrats and their media shills.  The price will be steep and paid in blood.  In playing the race card, the Democrats show that they have no moral scruples whatsoever.  To the progressive, the end always justifies the means.  It is a dishonor and a sin to bear false witness against your neighbor.  But this is the political party that booed God out of the DNC party platform three times before the chair ignored the majority and allowed the Almighty to return.  And this was done cynically to avert political fallout and a possible loss of votes in November.  Even God is a political calculation for Democrats.

There are no moral or ethical constraints on the Democrats or their progressive ilk in the media.  Race-baiting is a strategy they believe will work for them.  We can expect a hellish campaign in the run up to November 6.  If you plan to vote for Romney, be prepared.  The Democrats will call you a racist.  And they won’t think twice about doing it.

Anyway Ace really wants to see NBC/MSNBC, the media’s worst culprits of this shameful race baiting, severely punished:

They are so close to bankruptcy. And they’re so obnoxious. It’s not that the rest of these channels aren’t biased. It’s just at some point we need to make an example of one of them — I think the old expression goes pour encourager les autres (You have to hang an admiral once in a while to encourage the others).

And I don’t mean boycott their news. I mean boycott everything here. The whole thing. All of it. Put it under. Bankrupt it.

I started “boycotting” virtually all commercial TV (other than the news) over 20 years ago, so it’s no skin off my back. Got sick of what Breitbart’s John Nolte likes to call the “sucker punch” — that little jab the conservative viewer so often gets from what is expected to be unbiased programming. That sucker punch sneaks up on you when you think you’re in for a night of politics-free, ideology-free, escapist entertainment, but instead you get smacked in the face with an unsubtle denunciation of your deeply held conservative values. The bad guy is the pro lifer, or the priest, or the tea partier, for example.  Certainly, not everything Hollyweird puts out is blatantly hostile to conservatism, but I’m not interested in being insulted even on an occasional basis, so why subject myself to it? It’s not so much a “boycott” as an “F*** you, I don’t need this, ” and like I said, I’ve been doing it for over 20 years.

I may be a little more “pop culturally illiterate” than the average person, but I don’t see that as a negative – because our pop culture is trash.

Video: Issa Comments on the Fast and Furious IG Report and Obama’s Enemies List

With political and GWOT stories dominating the news cycle,  this week, the newly released IG report on Fast and Furious, and ensuing political fallout has been somewhat neglected.

In case you missed it, Oversight and Reform Chairman Darrell Issa went on Fox and Friends, Thursday morning, to discuss the  IG report and the continued need to hold Lanny Breuer and Eric Holder accountable for the cover-up at the Justice Dept.

Issa was also asked about the recent Daily Caller report about collusion between MMFA and the DOJ.

Matthew Boyle of the Daily Caller has that transcript:

“Not since Richard Nixon have we seen a president who puts together an enemies list and has a whole team pursuing it,” House oversight committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa said Thursday morning on the Fox News Channel’s “Fox and Friends.” “That’s what’s happened in this administration. It’s sad. It’s not the America I want to see going forward. I sincerely hope that after the election, regardless, the American people will have made a statement that they won’t tolerate this.”

Issa said he expects Congress will look into whether or not political advocacy organizations like Media Matters should enjoy tax-exempt statuses normally reserved for apolitical charities, too.

“Congress should address that tax loophole for entities that are really not charities,” Issa said, adding that Media Matters “is certainly one of them.”

Issa also said he’d like to see DOJ Office of Public Affairs Director Tracy Schmaler terminated for working with Media Matters.

Yes, please – time to look into tax exempt MMFA – what are you waiting for Congress?

Bret Baier on Fox’s Special Report also interviewed Issa, yesterday.
Issa stated, “Just because you’re not convicted doesn’t mean you’re vindicated,” adding “Eric Holder didn’t do his job, didn’t care enough to even call the family. And today, today finally, one of the people who should have been gone a year and a half ago, resigned, but only after the IG pointed specifically to him, but he also pointed to others and areas in which there’s still more work to be done, including the unsealing of 14 wiretaps – things that the Atty General has fought us on, the documents from post Feb 4th were the reason that the Atty Gen was held in contempt, and the IG said these need to made public.”

Via Jonathan Strong of Roll Call:

It’s been a key subject of dispute throughout the “Fast and Furious” saga but one shrouded in mystery: whether wiretap applications reviewed and approved by senior Justice Department officials should have tipped them off about the dangerous tactics being used in the operation.

House Oversight and Government Reform Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who obtained the wiretap applications surreptitiously from a whistleblower, said yes.

Attorney General Eric Holder and Congressional Democrats who reviewed them adamantly said no.

But because the documents were under court seal, the public was only afforded a glimpse of what was in them when Issa inserted a letter that characterized and quoted from them in the Congressional Record.

Now Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department’s inspector general, is broadly siding with Issa, saying in testimony before the Oversight panel today that the wiretap applications should have raised red flags to senior officials who approved them.

Asked by several Republican lawmakers at the hearing whether reading the wiretap applications would have indicated that guns were being “walked,” the tactic employed in Fast and Furious, Horowitz said “yes.”

Committee Hearing on IG Report: The DOJ Office of Inspector General Examines the Failures of Operation Fast & Furious:

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform held a hearing entitled, “IG Report: The Department of Justice’s Office of Inspector General Examines the Failures of Operation Fast and Furious” on Thursday, September 20, 2012.

Rep Gowdy (at 1:01:20) made note at the beginning of his questioning that the DOJ was not vindicated despite what some of the headlines were saying.

David Horowitz: Arrest of Anti-Islam FilmMaker “One of the Most Disgraceful Moments in the History of the American Presidency” (Video)

An appalled David Horowitz, appearing on America Live with Megyn Kelly, passionately defended freedom of speech, Thursday, calling the arrest of the anti Islam movie maker, one of  the “most disgraceful moments in the history of the American Presidency”, adding “if you don’t have the right of expressing your opinion, however hateful it may be, you don’t have any rights! Americans cannot defend all the other rights they have, if they don’t have free speech!”

“If Muslims are rioting against a film – SHAME ON THEM!” he exclaimed.

Horowitz went on to explain what he thinks the Islamic riots are really about, and then ventured into verboten territory when he mentioned Hillary Clinton’s aide, Huma Abedin, who he believes is a Muslim Brotherhood operative.:

Mental Recession: Obama Donor Heads Organization that Freed Terrorist Accused of Plotting Attack in Benghazi:

President Emeritus of the CCR, Michael Ratner, has long advocated for closing Guantanamo Bay’s doors, and for the right of Gitmo detainees within.  In a 2009 article for the Huffington Post, Ratner sings the praises of his organization’s efforts, calling the release of two thirds of Gitmo detainees an “amazing success”.

While feeling that terrorists caught on the battlefield were privy to the same rights as ordinary Americans, Ratner also repeatedly advocated for the prosecution of senior-level Bush administration officials, calling the detention of those terrorists, like bin Qumu, unlawful.  His op-ed for CNN made a case for prosecuting former President George W. Bush for torture under the War Crimes Act.

In other words, terrorists captured on the battlefield were being held illegally, but the Bush administration officials who were gathering intelligence from those terrorists should be tried for war crimes.

Tammy Bruce: Wow. Obama Calls The Attacks On Us Around the World And In Libya “Natural”:

This guy simply refuses to admit that we were attacked again on September 11th by al-Qaida. Even with all we know he insisted in his Univision interview that the attacks on us around the world were “natural” responses to the YouTube video and others are just taking advantage of the situation. Blaming these co-ordinated terrorist attacks on this nation on a YouTube has been roundly rejected, and the facts point elsewhere. No one believes the attacks in any nation were a “natural” reaction which just happened to hit in Egypt and Libya and elsewhere all on September 11th! What a freakish coincidence!

US News Washington Whispers: New Ad Implies Obama Is Cozy With Muslim Brotherhood:

The conservative advocacy group Let Freedom Ring released an ad Thursday to run in key swing states depicting President Barack Obama as a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer.

Guy Benson, Townhall: Whoa: Devastating CBS News Benghazi Report Slams Obama Administration:

(1)“The FBI still hasn’t made it to the crime scene in Benghazi.”  More on this later, but the fact that the administration is treating our sacked consulate as a “crime” scene is telling.  This was a terrorist attack.  An act of war.  (Andy McCarthy, call your office). We’ve dispatched criminal investigators to look into it, but they still haven’t even made it to ground zero yet?  Nine days after the fact?  Why?

(2)“Witnesses tell CBS News that there was never an anti-American protest outside of the consulate.  Instead, they say it came under planned attack.”  As I wrote this morning, the administration is at last beginning to acknowledge the latter fact, but the former element is crucial, too.  If there really were no protests outside the consulate before the ambush began  — as multiplenews outlets are now reporting — even the premise of the administration’s fictional account is false.  CBS says the facts on the ground are in “direct contradiction” to the White House’s statements.  The administration is still saying that the raid could have spun out from spontaneous protests that didn’t even exist.

(3)“What’s clear…is that the public won’t get a detailed account of what happened until after the presidential election.”  This conclusion strongly reinforces several of my theories about the White House’s foot-dragging and misdirection on the Benghazi raid.  We have a murdered ambassador and sensitive intelligence missing, and the administration is in pure political CYA mode.

Cliff Kincaid, AIM: Why Are They Lying?

On the Letterman show, President Barack Obama once again blamed Middle East violence on a movie, adding that he was concerned about the “shadowy character” behind it. That “shadowy character” was picked up by the police, acting on behalf of the federal government, in order to begin the process of appeasing Islamic censors around the world who want to destroy our First Amendment rights.

Blaming a movie shifts the attention away from the fact that al-Qaeda is behind the violence and that Osama bin-Laden’s death hasn’t affected the global terrorist war against America. Indeed, as we have reported, the murders in Libya demonstrate that the Obama policy, backed by Senator John McCain, has emboldened al-Qaeda in an important Arab/Muslim country. Since the U.S. military intervention in Libya was illegal and unconstitutional, the shocking emergence of al-Qaeda in Libya is one scandal on top of another. It has been argued that the Libya intervention is an impeachable offense.

AoSHQ: A Detailed Account Of Benghazi Attack:

A State Department official said Washington doesn’t control the travels of ambassadors within countries where they are posted. But some current and former U.S. officials say it was a mistake for the administration to put so much faith in the Libyans to provide adequate security so soon after the revolution, and questioned why more robust contingency plans weren’t in place. One senior State Department official described the Benghazi consulate as a “temporary office” that security officers treated as a “subsidiary” of the embassy in Tripoli, where more strenuous procedures and precautions were in place. “So Tripoli had the plan and the idea was that these people would just fall back on Tripoli, which they did in this situation, so it worked,” the official said.

“It worked”? Is Janet “The System Worked” Napolitano moonlighting at State now? In what way can a plan that left a consulate burned and looted and 4 dead Americans, including the Ambassador be said to have worked? What the hell would “the plan failed” have looked like?

How is this acceptable thinking? How can people who think this way be left in charge to devise the next plan? No wonder we were caught flatfooted.

Gateway Pundit: Unreal. Obama Administration Is Running $70,000 Apology Ads in Pakistan (Video)

FOX News reported the apology ads are costing the American public $70,000.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton apologize to Pakistanis for an obscure YouTube video that is blocked in Pakistan.
The ad is also posted on the US Embassy in Islamabad Facebook page:

Charles Krauthammer, Collapse of the Cairo Doctrine:

It’s now three years since the Cairo speech. Look around. The Islamic world is convulsed with an explosion of anti-Americanism. From Tunisia to Lebanon, American schools, businesses and diplomatic facilities set ablaze. A U.S. ambassador and three others murdered in Benghazi. The black flag of Salafism, of which al-Qaeda is a prominent element, raised over our embassies in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Sudan.

The administration, staggered and confused, blames it all on a 14-minute trailer for a film no one has seen and may not even exist.

What else can it say? Admit that its doctrinal premises were supremely naive and its policies deeply corrosive to American influence?

Religious provocations are endless. (Ask Salman Rushdie.) Resentment about the five-century decline of the Islamic world is a constant. What’s new — the crucial variable — is the unmistakable sound of a superpower in retreat. Ever since Henry Kissinger flipped Egypt from the Soviet to the American camp in the early 1970s, the United States had dominated the region. No longer.

“It’s time,” declared Obama to wild applause of his convention, “to do some nation-building right here at home.” He’d already announced a strategic pivot from the Middle East to the Pacific. Made possible because “the tide of war is receding.”

Nonsense. From the massacres in Nigeria to the charnel house that is Syria, violence has, if anything, increased. What is receding is Obama’s America.
