David Horowitz: Arrest of Anti-Islam FilmMaker “One of the Most Disgraceful Moments in the History of the American Presidency” (Video)

An appalled David Horowitz, appearing on America Live with Megyn Kelly, passionately defended freedom of speech, Thursday, calling the arrest of the anti Islam movie maker, one of  the “most disgraceful moments in the history of the American Presidency”, adding “if you don’t have the right of expressing your opinion, however hateful it may be, you don’t have any rights! Americans cannot defend all the other rights they have, if they don’t have free speech!”

“If Muslims are rioting against a film – SHAME ON THEM!” he exclaimed.

Horowitz went on to explain what he thinks the Islamic riots are really about, and then ventured into verboten territory when he mentioned Hillary Clinton’s aide, Huma Abedin, who he believes is a Muslim Brotherhood operative.:

Mental Recession: Obama Donor Heads Organization that Freed Terrorist Accused of Plotting Attack in Benghazi:

President Emeritus of the CCR, Michael Ratner, has long advocated for closing Guantanamo Bay’s doors, and for the right of Gitmo detainees within.  In a 2009 article for the Huffington Post, Ratner sings the praises of his organization’s efforts, calling the release of two thirds of Gitmo detainees an “amazing success”.

While feeling that terrorists caught on the battlefield were privy to the same rights as ordinary Americans, Ratner also repeatedly advocated for the prosecution of senior-level Bush administration officials, calling the detention of those terrorists, like bin Qumu, unlawful.  His op-ed for CNN made a case for prosecuting former President George W. Bush for torture under the War Crimes Act.

In other words, terrorists captured on the battlefield were being held illegally, but the Bush administration officials who were gathering intelligence from those terrorists should be tried for war crimes.

Tammy Bruce: Wow. Obama Calls The Attacks On Us Around the World And In Libya “Natural”:

This guy simply refuses to admit that we were attacked again on September 11th by al-Qaida. Even with all we know he insisted in his Univision interview that the attacks on us around the world were “natural” responses to the YouTube video and others are just taking advantage of the situation. Blaming these co-ordinated terrorist attacks on this nation on a YouTube has been roundly rejected, and the facts point elsewhere. No one believes the attacks in any nation were a “natural” reaction which just happened to hit in Egypt and Libya and elsewhere all on September 11th! What a freakish coincidence!

US News Washington Whispers: New Ad Implies Obama Is Cozy With Muslim Brotherhood:

The conservative advocacy group Let Freedom Ring released an ad Thursday to run in key swing states depicting President Barack Obama as a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer.

Guy Benson, Townhall: Whoa: Devastating CBS News Benghazi Report Slams Obama Administration:

(1)“The FBI still hasn’t made it to the crime scene in Benghazi.”  More on this later, but the fact that the administration is treating our sacked consulate as a “crime” scene is telling.  This was a terrorist attack.  An act of war.  (Andy McCarthy, call your office). We’ve dispatched criminal investigators to look into it, but they still haven’t even made it to ground zero yet?  Nine days after the fact?  Why?

(2)“Witnesses tell CBS News that there was never an anti-American protest outside of the consulate.  Instead, they say it came under planned attack.”  As I wrote this morning, the administration is at last beginning to acknowledge the latter fact, but the former element is crucial, too.  If there really were no protests outside the consulate before the ambush began  — as multiplenews outlets are now reporting — even the premise of the administration’s fictional account is false.  CBS says the facts on the ground are in “direct contradiction” to the White House’s statements.  The administration is still saying that the raid could have spun out from spontaneous protests that didn’t even exist.

(3)“What’s clear…is that the public won’t get a detailed account of what happened until after the presidential election.”  This conclusion strongly reinforces several of my theories about the White House’s foot-dragging and misdirection on the Benghazi raid.  We have a murdered ambassador and sensitive intelligence missing, and the administration is in pure political CYA mode.

Cliff Kincaid, AIM: Why Are They Lying?

On the Letterman show, President Barack Obama once again blamed Middle East violence on a movie, adding that he was concerned about the “shadowy character” behind it. That “shadowy character” was picked up by the police, acting on behalf of the federal government, in order to begin the process of appeasing Islamic censors around the world who want to destroy our First Amendment rights.

Blaming a movie shifts the attention away from the fact that al-Qaeda is behind the violence and that Osama bin-Laden’s death hasn’t affected the global terrorist war against America. Indeed, as we have reported, the murders in Libya demonstrate that the Obama policy, backed by Senator John McCain, has emboldened al-Qaeda in an important Arab/Muslim country. Since the U.S. military intervention in Libya was illegal and unconstitutional, the shocking emergence of al-Qaeda in Libya is one scandal on top of another. It has been argued that the Libya intervention is an impeachable offense.

AoSHQ: A Detailed Account Of Benghazi Attack:

A State Department official said Washington doesn’t control the travels of ambassadors within countries where they are posted. But some current and former U.S. officials say it was a mistake for the administration to put so much faith in the Libyans to provide adequate security so soon after the revolution, and questioned why more robust contingency plans weren’t in place. One senior State Department official described the Benghazi consulate as a “temporary office” that security officers treated as a “subsidiary” of the embassy in Tripoli, where more strenuous procedures and precautions were in place. “So Tripoli had the plan and the idea was that these people would just fall back on Tripoli, which they did in this situation, so it worked,” the official said.

“It worked”? Is Janet “The System Worked” Napolitano moonlighting at State now? In what way can a plan that left a consulate burned and looted and 4 dead Americans, including the Ambassador be said to have worked? What the hell would “the plan failed” have looked like?

How is this acceptable thinking? How can people who think this way be left in charge to devise the next plan? No wonder we were caught flatfooted.

Gateway Pundit: Unreal. Obama Administration Is Running $70,000 Apology Ads in Pakistan (Video)

FOX News reported the apology ads are costing the American public $70,000.
Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton apologize to Pakistanis for an obscure YouTube video that is blocked in Pakistan.

Charles Krauthammer, Collapse of the Cairo Doctrine:

It’s now three years since the Cairo speech. Look around. The Islamic world is convulsed with an explosion of anti-Americanism. From Tunisia to Lebanon, American schools, businesses and diplomatic facilities set ablaze. A U.S. ambassador and three others murdered in Benghazi. The black flag of Salafism, of which al-Qaeda is a prominent element, raised over our embassies in Tunisia, Egypt, Yemen and Sudan.

The administration, staggered and confused, blames it all on a 14-minute trailer for a film no one has seen and may not even exist.

What else can it say? Admit that its doctrinal premises were supremely naive and its policies deeply corrosive to American influence?

Religious provocations are endless. (Ask Salman Rushdie.) Resentment about the five-century decline of the Islamic world is a constant. What’s new — the crucial variable — is the unmistakable sound of a superpower in retreat. Ever since Henry Kissinger flipped Egypt from the Soviet to the American camp in the early 1970s, the United States had dominated the region. No longer.

“It’s time,” declared Obama to wild applause of his convention, “to do some nation-building right here at home.” He’d already announced a strategic pivot from the Middle East to the Pacific. Made possible because “the tide of war is receding.”

Nonsense. From the massacres in Nigeria to the charnel house that is Syria, violence has, if anything, increased. What is receding is Obama’s America.

  2. “Half dozen federal agents”? Really Megan? They were Los Angeles County Sheriff Deputies, as indicated on their shoulder patches, inside their assigned jurisdiction, protecting the media who created a major disturbance for the local residents. The Deputies, who when they arrest someone, handcuff the arrestee with hands behind the back. This guy clearly has his hands in his pockets. Lets not get MSNBCish here, Megan!
