Hack-tastic: Jay Carney Ties Republicans to Diplomatic Security Budget Cuts (Video)

If this disgusting slander wasn’t so evil and malevolent, I’d call it pathetic.

First he passed the buck on the question of security lapses in Libya – placing all the responsibility on the State Dept.

Via Weasel Zippers, Carney told Fox News’ Ed Henry:

“What I am saying, when it comes to the number of personnel, who are in place at consulates and embassies and other diplomatic facilities around the world, those decisions are appropriately made at the State Department by security personnel,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said.

Then he blamed “principally Republicans” for phantom budget cuts that didn’t happen:

“When it comes to funding, this president makes sure that diplomatic security is adequately funded, make sure that that funding is restored when efforts on Capitol Hill are made, principally by House Republicans, including Congressman Ryan to slash it in order to cut taxes for the wealthiest 2 percent in this country,” Carney added.

It is what it is – a pathetic, ass covering and already debunked lie.

State Dept. Bureaucrat, Charlene Lamb told Congressman Dana Rohrabacher that Budget Had Nothing To Do With Security Decisions At Benghazi:

A couple of days ago, Fox News analyst Ralph Peters said White House Press Secretary Jay Carney reminded him of “Stalin-era spokespeople” when it comes to answering questions about the terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya.

Carney on Wednesday defended the Obama administration’s initial response to the attack in calling it the result of a protest over an anti-Islam film, calling the situation “a moving picture.” The White House subsequently walked back that assessment and acknowledged it was a terrorist attack. The State Department said Tuesday there was no protest beforehand.

“I gotta tell you, listening to Jay Carney throws me in the flashbacks,” said Peters, a retired Army officer. “When I was in the military as an officer my specialty was the former Soviet Union, its military, its government. And listening to Jay Carney reminds me of a younger, sleeker version of old Stalin-era spokespeople.”

He continued, “I mean, this White House just makes it up. They lie and when that lie doesn’t work they tell another lie, and when that lie doesn’t work they tell another lie. I’ve never in the course of some pretty bad Republican and Democratic administrations in my lifetime, I’ve never seen such a wanton disregard for the truth.”

Carney was the Washington Bureau Chief for Time Magazine before this post – sounds about right.

  1. What’s pathetic is the Clintons have been solidly in Obama’s corner, maybe not personally friendly but ideologically from the same mold – but now that these rats have been caught in the middle of this corrupt clusterfark – they’re forced to point fingers of blame on one another. Who’s going under the bus? It’s quite entertaining, actually. Stock up on popcorn.
