Report: Naughty Bob Menendez Stiffed Hookers after Easter Tricks in Dominican Republic

The sex scandal teased by Drudge turns out to be about Democrat Senator Bob Menendez’s penchant for patronizing hookers in the Dominican Republic and paying them substantially less than the agreed price.

Matthew Boyle of The Daily Caller  has obtained records that provide strong circumstantial evidence that Menendez traveled to the Dominican Republic from his  home in New Jersey on Easter Sunday of this year.

One woman said Menendez wooed her with compliments like “beautiful” before they slept together. The other woman recounted, with apparent bitterness, receiving from an intermediary only $100 of the $500 she had been promised.

“He lies,” she said of Menendez. “He says one thing and does another.”

According to the translator’s summary, Menendez “was nice at first, but then later he did not seem to care about her.”

Menendez, who is 58 and divorced, has represented New Jersey in the U.S. Senate as a Democrat since being appointed to fill a vacancy in 2005. He is up for re-election on Nov. 6.

Asked about the allegations, Menendez spokeswoman Tricia Enright refused to answer any questions on the subject. “We’re not going to respond to a completely false accusation,” she wrote by email.

As RS McCain notes,  Menendez’s Republican challenger is Joe Kyrillos, and he may now be a serious contender  as a result of this (possible*) scandal.

I say *possible* scandal because with just a few days until the election, the Democrats are going to be in full scale circle the wagons mode – proclaiming his innocence, attacking the accusers, etc. They can easily run out the clock using their usual lying and obfuscating (or ignoring) methods.

And if that doesn’t work, they’ll just brazenly stand by him as they’ve stood by so many other bad actors in the party who have been caught in even worse scandals.
