Video: Governors FRUSTRATED after meeting with Obama

Via Instapundit, judging from reactions, that  meeting Obama held with the National Governors Association, Monday, was not terribly productive, in fact, Gov. Nikki Haley said she could not be more frustrated.

During President Barack Obama’s meeting with U.S. governors at the White House Monday, the president dismissed members of the press to hold a private, hourlong discussion with the visiting state executives. Whatever was said after the cameras left the room especially incensed South Carolina Republican Gov. Nikki Haley.

Haley went across the street to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce after the meeting, where she joined fellow Republican Govs. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana and Scott Walker of Wisconsin in berating both Congress and the Obama administration for failing to agree to an alternative to the looming across-the-board federal budget cuts set to trigger March 1.

“I could not be more frustrated than I am right now,” Haley told reporters after the meeting. She said that when she asked Obama if he would consider a last-minute plan to shave about 2 percent from the annual federal budget without increasing taxes, the answer was “no.”

“My kids could go and find $83 billion out of a $4 trillion budget,” Haley said. “This is not rocket science.”

It would appear that Obama had the media cleared out of the room after he was done pontificating, so they would be unable to report on the governors’ questions.

The most transparent president in modern times knew things were going to get a tad unpleasant, and didn’t want it recorded for posterity.

  1. Answer to Nikki Haley’s question: dozens more times, over the next 4 years everyone will be picking up the mess. The press was removed from the meeting so that, obozo wouldn’t be embarrassed answering question [on camera] that the mutts in the msm won’t ask themselves. The Governor’s should’ve gotten up and left with the media.

This sequestration cut, we are about to experience, normally wouldn’t be a blip in anyone’s life. However Given the talking heads this administration has walked out to warn us all of the coming catastrophe you can guarantee that “they” [the administration] will “inflict” maximum damage. They can’t afford not too. If there isn’t some pain experience that they can blame the republicans for, they are going to face the same thing down the road.

  2. That’s exactly what I was thinking while reading this. Wish SOMEONE had taken a little initiative.

What’s it going to take to get it through everyone’s head this *#^! HATES America and everything good about her?

  3. At the very least the Republican Governors should have done the following:

    1. INSISTED that the Press stay or the Governors WALK OUT! They would have been DEFENDING THE RIGHT OF THE PRESS and the PRESS WOULD HAVE REPORTED THAT!! FAVORABLY, I might add.

Are the Repubs really so deaf dumb and blind that they can’t preplan for POTUS stunts like this?

    2. Have allowed the press to leave but INSISTED that the Governors themselves be allowed to tape the meeting and there should have been SEVERAL of them equipped to do so.

    3. Taped the meeting without mentioning it.

Why do they let this President act like a dictator??? The more they allow, the more he does. They MUST put an end to the secrecy and lies and bullying and spending!!

  5. When will the Republicans learn????????????? Ever????????????
Obama promised “Transparency”, publicly. Make him live up to it, PUBLICLY!

    4. “Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules. You can kill them with this, for they can no more obey their own rules than the Christian church can live up to Christianity.”

  6. I agree. I can see how public decorum might have been a concern, but how hard would it have been for one or two of the governors to nudge each other and say, “hey, let’s say something,” and politely but firmly insist on transparency. You’re right. The media would have applauded them.

  8. : / —> my first post should have read “one of the following”.

@nicedeb: At this point, how can Republicans still be so disorganized and clueless? Have they no real strategy at all? Mark Levin just ranted about how they never go on offense. They just roll over and let Obama walk all over them, destroying our country..

How dare those governors allow Obama to force the press out! We’ve all known for years that all of Obama’s pressers, interviews, etc. are orchestrated. This meeting would have been somewhat out of his control. So he got rid of the press. And the governors allowed that – and then were surprised afterward that they got nowhere with him??

  9. The party has been pathetic for years now, they are really getting to be a disgrace now. They are the dim party lite any more. They seem content just watching as Rome burns.
