I didn’t see an intelligence briefing, there, did you?

The RNC hit Obama on hypocritical effort to cozy up to the wealthy even as he attempts to raise taxes on them.

Via SFGate:

The National Republican Congressional Committee has also noted there will be a lot of socializing with the rich in the next 48 hours here.

On Wednesday night, Obama will attend two San Francisco fundraisers for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee — a $5,000 a head reception at the home of billionaire environmental advocate Tom Steyer and his wife Kat Taylor, and then a $32,500 per person dinner at the home of Ann and Gordon Getty. It’s one of 14 fundraisers for House Dems that the president has committed to this year, sources say.

On Thursday, he goes to tony Atherton, where he will star at two fundraisers for the Democratic National Committee. One, with tickets at $32,400 per person is at the home of investment guru Mark Heising and Liz Simons, and another is at the home of Levi-Strauss heir John Goldman and his wife Marcia, where tickets are $1,000 and up.

The GOP is gleefully noting that his trip to San Francisco tonight will be “near” the same neighborhood in which he made his famed remark about some “bitter” voters who cling to guns or religion.”

“On the campaign trail, Obama’s favorite applause line was attacking the very people he’s now begging for campaign cash. Hypocrisy at its finest. Barack Obama has his priorities completely backward — prioritizing billionaires over the taxpayers who demand and deserve a budget and cancelling White House tours while he spends $180,000 an hour flying Air Force One to fundraise on Billionaires Row.” – RNC Chairman Reince Priebus

Mark Levin hit Obama even harder for being the most irresponsible man ever to occupy the Oval Office.

Mark Levin points out that a nation has just declared nuclear war on America, and despite whether or not they can carry it out, the point is that Obama is gallivanting around from one fund raiser to another as if nothing is happening. Levin says he’s never seen such an irresponsible man in the Oval Office in his life.

CNS News: 41% in Bankrupt Stockton Don’t Speak English at Home; 21% Can’t Speak It Very Well:

In Stockton, Calif., which has just entered into Chapter 9 bankruptcy, 41 percent of the people do not speak English at home and 21 percent cannot speak it very well, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.

Data that the Census Bureau developed on what it calls the “social characteristics” of Stockton during the five-year period from 2007 to 2011, indicate that this city, located eighty miles east of San Francisco in California’s San Joaquin Valley, had a population of 289,926.

Of those 289,926 people, 76,869 (or about 27 percent) were foreign born, according to the Census Bureau. Of these foreign-born, 43,084 (or about 15 percent of this city’s total population) were not U.S. citizens.

The logical result of the left-wing policies Obama is pushing nationwide, and which the limousine libs he’s visiting this weekend, are helping to fund.

North Korea Threatens Nuclear War On USA “Today or Tomorrow” (Video)

Secretary of State John Kerry said the United States would defend itself and its allies amid what he called “provocative, dangerous and reckless” threats by North Korean leader Kim Jung Un.

SEOUL: North Korea dramatically escalated its warlike rhetoric Thursday, warning that it had authorized plans for nuclear strikes on targets in the United States.

“The moment of explosion is approaching fast,” the North Korean military said, warning that war could break out “today or tomorrow.”

Pyongyang’s latest pronouncement came as Washington scrambled to reinforce its Pacific missile defenses, preparing to send ground-based interceptors to Guam and dispatching two Aegis class destroyers to the region.

Tension was also high on the North’s heavily fortified border with South Korea, after it barred South Koreans from entering a joint industrial park on its side of the frontier.

In a statement published by the state KCNA news agency, the Korean People’s Army warned Washington that U.S. threats would be “smashed by … cutting-edge smaller, lighter and diversified nuclear strike means.”

“The merciless operation of our revolutionary armed forces in this regard has been finally examined and ratified,” the statement said.

The Pentagon said that it would deploy a missile defense system to the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam.

Ace points out the obvious:  North Korea Wants Money.
Not a penny. Don’t these weirdos know about the sequester?
Former CIA Director Michael Hayden told LIGNET this week that the possibility of North Korea launching a nuclear attack is “somewhere between extremely remote and zero,” but that he believes the current situation with the North is extremely dangerous and is becoming more so by the year. The cycle of threats by North Korea followed by promises of aid must be broken, he said.
In this exclusive interview, General Hayden talks about the strategy behind North Korea’s belligerent rhetoric and provides his assessment of whether the Kim Jong Un regime is really intent on conducting an attack.
“I think unfortunately, because we’ve acted with tremendous restraint over the past quarter century, we’ve simply taught the North Koreans that they can do these kinds of things with impunity. And now I think we are very much on the edge,” said Hayden in a sit-down interview with LIGNET director Fred Fleitz.
Michael Hayden was the 2oth director of the Central Intelligence Agency, serving from May of 2006 to February of 2009. He was head of the National Security Agency from 1999-2005 and served for almost 39 years in the U.S. Air Force, including two tours in Korea, retiring with the rank of four-star general in 2008. He now works as a consultant with the Chertoff Group and serves on LIGNET’s advisory board.

Cruz: UN Small Arms Treaty Represents Threats to 2nd Amendment Rights and US Sovereignty (Audio)

“The UN Small Arms Treaty must be defeated”, TX Senator Ted Cruz declared in a radio interview, today with Ben Ferguson of WBAP. He said the treaty combines two things that are very dangerous –  a direct threat to our right to keep and bear arms, and an ongoing threat to our sovereignty which is part of a pattern that he said the Obama administration has accelerated.

When asked if there was any chance the Democrats will be able to pass a sweeping gun control law,  Cruz replied, “if the Democrats had their way, they would readily pass laws that would restrict our constitutional right to keep and bear arms.”

Schumer: Our Bill Has Legalization First, ‘Then We’ll Make Sure Border Is Secure’ (Video)

What a trainwreck.

This is NY Senator Chuckie Schumer on Meet The Press last weekend, saying  that the Gang of Eight had come to a “basic agreement”

“We’ve come to a basic agreement, which is that first, people will be legalized. In other words, not citizens, but they’ll be allowed to work, come out of the shadows, travel. Then, we will make sure the border is secure. And we have specific metrics that are in the bill. I’m not going to get into what they are…”

Senator Jeff Sessions supplied the video:

But just as the immigration deal was being considered a  fait accompli by Democrats,Marco Rubio slammed on breaks:

“[A]rriving at a final product will require it to be properly submitted for the American people’s consideration, through the other 92 senators from 43 states that weren’t part of this initial drafting process,” Rubio said . “In order to succeed,” Rubio added, “this process cannot be rushed or done in secret.
“A reasonable approach”, but now Liberals are angry with Marco Rubio for refusing to rush immigration reform Matt Lewis reports at The Daily Caller.

The only trouble was, Rubio had stepped on the meme. It turns out that some advocates of immigration reform think the best way to pass something is to rush it through Congress — to never let a crisis go to waste.

In fact, that’s probably the best way to guarantee a). a bad bill, and b). legislation that won’t pass the House.

Drew at AoSHQ: Report: House “Gang Of 8” Immigration Plan Has 3 Paths To Citizenship/Legalization:

Note that the prize here isn’t simply “a path to citizenship”, it’s automatic legalization. GOP amnesty leaders like Marco Rubio, say “border security must come first” but that means before citizenship. Legalization comes right away. I’m sure some, maybe most, illegals care about citizenship but that’s just a cherry on top of being able to live and work here legally.

Speaking of Marco Rubio he said he’d walk away from any deal that didn’t include the faux “trigger”. Well, the Obama administration said no to them. Rubio also wanted extensive hearings on any legislation, Senate Democrats said no to that too.

Anyone think there’s anything Democrats could do to make Rubio walk away?

His final political calculation will be fascinating. Mickey Kaus has a theory…Rubio will walk for show but support in the end.
