Video: Krauthammer On Obama Being ‘Unaware’ Of Benghazi Whistleblowers: ‘Color Me Skeptical’

Obama’s press conference earlier today provided a wealth of material for the Special Report Panel to chew on, tonight. Obama’s obfuscations on Syria, America’s damaged credibility, and of course Benghazi.

Starting at around 4:20, the discussion on Benghazi began.

“He hadn’t heard about it?” Krauthammer asked incredulously. “Nobody at the White House had heard about it? Nobody at the White House has access to Fox News? This is slightly incredible and it’s a rather weak response from the president. He knew that he would be calling on Ed Henry  as the first question because of his role in the White House Correspondents Association. He knew the Fox or at least his staff knew that Fox had broken the story, put a lot of effort and time on the story last night, and he pretends he’s never heard of it? Color me skeptical.”

Kirsten thought that it was very possible that Obama didn’t know because the White House doesn’t take the story seriously, and “this is a White House that has a pretty storied history of intimidating whistleblowers and prosecuting whistleblowers”, so it’s not something they want the president to be able to talk about. She said she was looking forward to hearing what the whistleblowers had to say.

Steven Hayes focused on the same thing I did at Breitbart, today, and that is Obama’s (oft repeated) vow to bring the perpetrators to justice.

“Where are we on that question?” he asked…..”It’s been nearly eight months!”

“How long is the president going to be able to say, ‘I’m determined to track them down and bring them to justice’,when people actually take that seriously. It’s been eight months – come -on!”

Krauthammer said that as long as the media outside of  Fox News ignores Benghazi, it will not be an “explosive” story.

Pravda during the Stalin era was probably a more reliable and less biased news source than the American MSM, today.

Part II of Fox News Special Report into the Benghazi cover-up premiered tonight and the news keeps getting worse.

BAIER: President Obama promised to get to the bottom of the Benghazi attack. Why are the perpetrators still free? Correspondent Adam Housley has part 2 of our exclusive investigation.

OBAMA: Make no mistake. Justice will be done.

HOUSLEY: Seven months and still no arrest or targeted killings after the brutal attack on two U.S. locations in Benghazi, Libya, killing four Americans — despite promises that those responsible would be hunted down and held accountable.

However, multiple sources tell Fox News that the U.S. has identified the Benghazi attacker who is still running free.

SO: We basically don’t want to upset anybody. And the problem is if Ambassador Stevens’ family knew that we were sitting on information about the people who killed their son, their brother, and we could look them as a government in the face, then we are messing up.

We’re messing up.

Gateway Pundit: BREAKING: Rep. Trey Gowdy Says Eyewitnesses Will Testify Next Week at Benghazi Hearing (Video)

Hear Come the Whistle-Blowers–
Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) spilled the beans tonight on the Benghazi hearings scheduled for May 8th. Gowdy said “first hand witnesses” will be testifying on the massacre and coverup. He told Greta – she won’t want to miss it.

“Well I am not liberty to disclose the identity of the witnesses but I will just say what I have said previously which is it is going to be a very informational and instructive hearing. I would encourage you to follow it. Benghazi is warming up. It is not going away despite the efforts of this administration… You know that hearsay evidence is not so interesting. First hand accounts by eye-witnesses much more compelling. So I would again repeat for your audience and those who may be watching. Let me just say next week will be a good opportunity for us to hear non-hearsay accounts of what happened in Benghazi.

Quin Hillyer, The American Spectator: Obama: All His Gall is Divided Into Three Parts:

This president has some gall. I just caught the last half of his press conference. This is a man who couldn’t play it straight even if you gave him a pencil and a ruler.

Obama has three typical gambits. First, he denies responsibility for anything bad. Second, he blames his adversaries for his own failures or inaction. Third, he claims to be above the fray.

All three poses are flagrantly dishonest.

Consider, as per 1) White House tour cuts? Air traffic delays? Oh, his hands are tied. He warned us against that mean old sequester, dontcha know. (Never mind that in both cases, as the Wall Street Journal has showed, his administration already enjoyed discretion/flexibility. And never mind that he OPPOSED bills to give him more flexibility.)

The Daily Caller; Obama Blames Everybody – President finds fault in the Senate, budget cuts and, especially, those dastardly Republicans:

President Barack Obama spent most of his surprise April 30 press conference on the defensive, blaming the Senate, budget cuts, Republicans, Syria’s dictator and much else for the shaky start to his second term.

He had nothing major or new to announce, and no theme or message to steer media coverage.

About a third of the way through the press conference, Obama responded to a question about his political clout by saying sardonically that “as Mark Twain said, rumors of my demise may be a little exaggerated at this point.”

“In the Senate, this habit of requiring 60 votes for even the most modest piece of legislation has gummed up the works there,” he complained.

“On Syria, I think it’s important to understand that for several years now what we’ve been seeing is a slowly unfolding disaster for the Syrian people … this is not a situation in which we’ve been simply bystanders to what’s been happening,” he argued.

“It is true that the sequester is in place,” he also observed. “It’s damaging our economy. It’s hurting our people,” he said.

Maybe he should have taken the Republicans’ offer of giving him more flexibility to make smarter, targeted cuts? Jackass.

Washington Free Beacon: Gowdy: ‘Understatement’ to Say We Have No Confidence in ARB’s Benghazi Investigation:

Gowdy said there would be “persuasive” witnesses testifying about Benghazi May 8 and a “wonderful opportunity” to hear non-hearsay accounts about the attacks. President Obama claimed Tuesday that he had no knowledge of reports that these whistleblowers had been threatened or intimidated for divulging sensitive information to Congress about Benghazi.

GOP Rep. Gohmert To Glenn Beck: Holder Has “Spent More Time Defending the Terrorists than Defending the Country” (Video)

Glenn Beck had Republican congressman Louie Gohmert of Texas on the show to talk about Muslim Brotherhood infiltration into the highest reaches of government, and he had some astounding things to say.

On the FBI investigation into Tamerlan  Tsarnaev after being tipped off by the Russians that he was a potential terrorist, he said, “can you imagine what that interview was like?”  Because the FBI lexicon has been stripped of all references to Islamic extremism, he figured that it was “a complete waste of time.”

Beck asked Gohmert about the Judge who read Dzhokhar the Miranda rights. Gohmert noted how the  FBI was shocked but the Justice Dept wasn’t.

Referring to Holder’s days as a partner at the law firm the Washington, DC law firm of Covington & Burling, which *represented terrorists detained at Guantanamo Bay, Gohmert snarked, “When your Atty Gen has spent more time defending the terrorists than defending the country – well we all have certain biases and lean certain ways”.

As for the Muslim infiltration, he noted that “an Egyptian magazine has said that there are six members of the Muslim Brotherhood who are active and are playing a vital role in this administration, and they sent out their names.”

Glenn Beck said he believes the Regime is obviously aware of this, but Obama considers the Muslim Brotherhood, the good guys.

*One of the Guantanamo detainees, from Kuwait had contributed to an anthology of detainee poetry compiled and published by Holder’s C&B colleague, Marc Falkoff.

Falkoff likened the plight of these “gentle, thoughtful” poets, to that of the Jews who had been held in concentration camps during World War II. The aforementioned Kuwaiti was released from Guantanamo in 2005 and promptly resumed his terrorist activities. In March 2008 he blew himself up with a truck bomb in Mosul, Iraq, killing 13 Iraqi army soldiers and wounding 42 others.\

Big Government: OBAMA DEFENDS FBI, HOMELAND SECURITY ON BOSTON BOMBING FAILURES:

Obama held fewer press conferences in his first term than any of his recent predecessors. Calling a surprise press conference absent any breaking news is highly unusual. Given recent developments on several fronts, however, it is indicative of a White House on the defense. Critical missteps by the Administration have been exposed over the past two weeks.

The investigation in the Boston Marathon bombing has revealed that the FBI had been warned about Tamerlan Tsarnaev and alleged ties to terrorists back in 2011. The FBI found no evidence, at the time, to support the allegations, yet his mother was placed on the terrorist watch list that same year.

A few months after the FBI closed its investigation, Tamerlan spent 6 months abroad in an area of Russia known to be used by terror groups. He returned to the US less than a year before this month’s attack, yet the FBI never followed-up their investigation.

Soon after his brother and accomplice Dhokhar was taken into custody, a special team of federal agents began interrogating him about assistance the brothers might have received. The suspect was cooperating. While the interrogation was going on, however, a federal judge, with the apparent blessing of Eric Holder, “mirandized” the suspect, reminding him that he didn’t have to cooperate. He has since stopped answering questions.

But at his press conference, Obama upheld the work of the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, explaining, “Based on what I’ve seen so far, the FBI performed its duties. Department of Homeland Security did what it was supposed to be doing.”

Gowdy: It’s Sad That Whistleblowers ‘Have To Cloak Themselves In Confidentiality For Fear of Reprisal’ (Video)

Congressman Trey Gowdy appeared on Fox News, this afternoon to talk about the new information that’s come out about Benghazi.

Noting that he is primarily concerned about the eye witnesses, he said, “it is sad that someone would have to cloak themselves in confidentiality for fear of reprisal, but that’s where we are…”

Responding to the Pentagon’s assessment that there was no way that military assets had time to get to Benghazi and stop the siege. Gowdy responded, “Here’s my question, Martha – How did they know they couldn’t have made it  there? They had no way to know when it was going to end? They know when the attack started, but how in the world could they have possibly have known when it was going to end while it was going on?”

As for the Accountability Review Board’s findings, he said he could care less about the fact that the State Dept. cleared the State Dept…”It’s Congress’s job to provide the oversight.”

An issue he will be focusing on in the next hearings is whether Susan Rice’s ” intentionally misleading”   videotape narrative effect our ability to investigate the crime scene in Benghazi.

There’s a big difference between being wrong, and being intentionally misleading, he said.
