A “justice for Trayvon” rally in Tampa fell flat on Monday, as only 3 New Black Panther protesters showed up to protest the Zimmerman verdict.
Only three demonstrators showed up at a Justice for Trayvon Martin rally organized by the New Black Panther party near a Tampa courthouse Monday.
The representatives with the New Black Panthers told us they scheduled a gathering in front of the George Edgecomb Courthouse on Twiggs Street to bring attention to the broken judicial system and to demand justice for Trayvon Martin.
As the morning wore on, a few people going in and out of the courtroom stopped to listen for a moment or two, and were interviewed by ABC Action News. Note the sympathetic treatment the reporter gave the odious New Black Panthers, whose foot soldiers have found ways to inject antisemitism into the Zimmerman case, vowed “the black man will exact justice on Zimmerman” and declared that the Zimmerman verdict means “war”. Last year they put put a $10,000 bounty on Zimmerman’s head.
“For Ali Mohammed, there is no riding the fence since the verdict came down…..with the Zimmerman not guilty verdict weighing on his heart and boiling in his soul, Ali is calling for change in how ‘Lady Justice’ sees the law,” the reporter intoned.
Thank God for the last woman interviewed who injected some sanity and common decency into the farce, reviving my faith in humanity just a little bit.
Imagine if a tea party rally drew only 3 protesters. Do you think anyone in the media would have been there to cover it?
I’ve been to rallies that have drawn thousands that were ignored by the local media. We live in an upside down world.
