Why did “tea party Republican” Angela Corey involve herself with the Zimmerman show trial to begin with? Why does she continue to call him a murderer after he’s been found to be innocent of all charges? Why did she withhold damaging evidence she was required by law to disclose?
Something is rotten in the state of Florida, that’s all I know…
A former employee of Florida State Attorney Angela Corey’s office plans to file a whistleblower lawsuit against George Zimmerman’s prosecutors, his attorney told Reuters on Tuesday….
Ben Kruidbos, Corey’s former director of information technology, was fired after testifying at a pre-trial hearing on June 6 that prosecutors failed to turn over potentially embarrassing evidence extracted from Martin’s cell phone to the defense, as required by evidence-sharing laws.
“We will be filing a whistleblower action in (Florida’s Fourth Judicial District) Circuit Court,” said Kruidbos’ attorney Wesley White, himself a former prosecutor who was hired by Corey but resigned in December because he disagreed with her prosecutorial priorities. He said the suit will be filed within the next 30 days.
Trial law requires prosecutors to share evidence with defense attorneys, especially if it helps exonerate defendants. The requirement is known as the Brady disclosure.
Kruidbos testified last month in a pre-trial hearing that he found photos on Martin’s phone that included pictures of a pile of jewelry on a bed, underage nude females, marijuana plants and a hand holding a semi-automatic pistol.
Badger Pundit added these highlights:
1. The DOJ official called Dream Defenders a “student group” and referenced the “students” talking at the meeting. (5:45 to 6:10) Yet none of the three members of Dream Defenders who were at the event is a student. Gabriel M. Pendas graduated from FSU in 2005. Vanessa Jennifer Baden graduated from FSU in 2007. Nelini Stamp never attended college. (10:20 to 11:00)
2. Far from being a “student group,” the organization headed up by Pendas and two other non-students (including Stamp) is “Dream Defenders, Inc.,” a Florida corporation. (6:50 to 7:00; incorporation details here).
3. Given the background of the three people who appeared on its behalf, there is reason to believe that Dream Defenders is an “astroturf” front group funded by the lawyers for Travon Martin’s family and/or ultra-left-wing big money sources. All three have long worked as paid political agitators.
A law student working as an intern in the firm representing George Zimmerman, she had the challenge of being part of the Zimmerman defense team – and also being African American. It appears she had the option not to work the case, but she took it anyway.
Why? I assume because she is trying to learn her profession and is committed to the sacrosanct American principle that everyone accused of a crime deserves a defense.
Before joining the team, she wanted to know one thing: Was Zimmerman a racist? Not because she didn’t think he deserved a defense if he was – she’s met plenty of racists before, and knows they’re an unfortunate part of society too – but because she felt she could not adequately defend him if she knew he hated black people. Satisfied he was not a racist, she joined the defense, knowing full well the repercussions she could face.
From whom? Well, from people like President Obama, who don’t understand that their role in society – and its obligations to other people – is more important than their own self-indulgent thinking.
Obama is president of all of us, not just black people and liberals. What’s more, he runs the supposedly independent federal system of Justice.
You’re going to love this guy. Holder wants a frank discussion about race?
Well, here we go:

Oh yeah? Well – what if the roles were reversed? What if it was a black guy shooting a “white Hispanic” guy out of self defense? Like the Roderick Scott case….You know what would happen – they would railroad him so bad…they’d —
Not guilty: The verdict in the manslaughter trial of Roderick Scott. After more than 19 hours of deliberations over two days, a jury acquitted the Greece man in the shooting death of Christopher Cervini, 17, last April.
“I just want to say thank you to the people who believed in me, who stood by me,” Scott said following the verdict. “I still have my regrets for the Cervini family; it’s still an unfortunate situation for them. I am happy that at least this chapter is over.”
As deliberations dragged on over two days and the jury asked for testimony to be read back, Scott admits he didn’t know how it would all turn out.
“I was nervous of course,” he said. “You never know what direction this whole thing is going to turn, so I have no idea. But it worked out and I feel that justice (was) served today.”
Cervini’s family members say justice wasn’t served. They say Christopher was murdered in cold blood, that he’d never been in trouble and Scott acted as judge, jury and executioner.
“The message is that we can all go out and get guns and feel anybody that we feel is threatening us and lie about the fact,” said Jim Cervini, Christopher’s father. “My son never threatened anybody. He was a gentle child, his nature was gentle, he was a good person and he was never, ever arrested for anything, and has never been in trouble. He was 16 years and four months old, and he was slaughtered.”
Scott says he acted in self defense when he confronted Cervini and two others saying they were stealing from neighbors cars. He told them he had a gun and ordered them to freeze and wait for police.
Scott says he shot Cervini twice when the victim charged toward him yelling he was going to get Scott.
HOUSTON – Hundreds of people marched in protest to the George Zimmerman verdict on Monday.
“No justice, no peace,” they yelled as they walked from the Byrd Funeral Home in the 2500 block of Wheeler to the Southmore Street overpass bridge near Highway 288.
Just after 7p.m. Monday, the demonstrators spilled out onto the road and blocked traffic for about 15 minutes.
“I looked up and I see all the protesters, they’re everywhere,” said Georgia, who asked that her last name not be used. “So, we got into the traffic and they’re stopping us and not letting us go.”
Georgia was on her way to Texas Children’s Hospital in the Medical Center because her 7-year-old granddaughter was having an allergic reaction to some medication.
Georgia’s daughter was driving and tried to go around the demonstrators by driving on the grassy shoulder.
“One of them was hitting the windshield and I was just screaming, ‘We’ve got to get to the hospital,’ and they were screaming and chanting,” she said. “All I could think of was, I got to get my granddaughter to the hospital.”
“My mom rolled down the window,” said Georgia’s daughter. “She said, ‘We’re trying to get my granddaughter to the hospital,’ and a guy just started hitting her.”

Meanwhile…is this still America? HOLDER OPENS ZIMMERMAN SNITCH LINE – Solicits Email Tips in Persecution of Trayvon Shooter
The Obama Administration has opened a snitch line and is soliciting tips in its ongoing persecution of the Zimmmerman family.
That email address, which is now in operation, is Sanford.email@example.com.
The Orlando Sentinel reported:
The U.S. Department of Justice on Monday afternoon appealed to civil rights groups and community leaders, nationally and in Sanford, for help investigating whether a federal criminal case might be brought against George Zimmerman for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, one advocate said.
The DOJ has also set up a public email address to take in tips on its civil rights investigation.
This fascist Regime isn’t happy unless they’re dividing Americans and setting up snitch networks. PJ Media’s Roger Simon says it reminds him of East Germany’s Stasi.
Our Department of Justice, in its “wisdom,” has just decided to establish an email address through which George Zimmerman’s fellow citizens can report on putative examples of his racism, although a full investigation of the same had been conducted over a year ago by the FBI, yielding a result of no racism. What DOJ is doing now constitutes a witch hunt employing the methodology of a police state, citizen spying on citizen, with Attorney General Eric Holder and his henchman Tom Perez assuming the role of Markus Wolf. If you don’t remember who he was, you can click on the link. Or perhaps have a look at this film. The U.S. Department of Justice channels the Stasi. Did you ever think it could happen here?
A high school intern with the conservative Daily Caller Web site got into a testy exchange with White House Press Secretary Jay Carney Wednesday after asking if the White House would intervene to protect George Zimmerman from death threats in the wake of his acquittal on murder and manslaughter charges.
“Because of the death threats being received by George Zimmerman and his parents, is the president going to take any action for their security or are they on their own?” Gabe Finger asked.
Carney responded that he wasn’t aware of the threats and that Florida authorities would be responsible for handling them, but that Obama opposes “any violence of any kind” in response to the verdict in the Trayvon Martin case.
