The latest delay will extend enforcement of Obamacare’s caps on out-of-pocket costs like deductibles and co-pays for another year until after the 2014 midterm elections. Analysts say the Obamacare limits on consumer costs will boost the costs of healthcare.
The government’s most recent waiver is just the latest in a string of delays that have Democrats in tight congressional races worried about what Democratic Sen. Max Baucus (D-MT) warned will be a “huge train wreck coming down.”
With less than seven weeks to go before Obamacare’s grand opening, the healthcare laws $6,350 limit on out-of-pocket costs for individuals and $12,700 cap for families has been pushed back another year until after the 2014 midterm elections.
This is so damn exciting.
No really – the Regime is charting new, unexplored territory every day! This is Obama’s “Fascistic Voyage’ and he’s taking us to new, exciting places we’ve never been to before. Did you ever wonder what it would be like to live in a post- constitutional, authoritarian country? Well, by golly, we’re finding out!
Charles Krauthammer dryly quips that the Obamacare law is written in an “arcane”, inscrutable way precisely so it can be interpreted any way the Regime wants to interpret it.
“The reason people are upset, he blandly notes, “is it allows the administration to manipulate it in a way that is completely lawless.”
That’s all – “lawless” which is s.o.p. for this Regime. Thanks watchdog media. Thanks loyal opposition party. Thanks Obama voters. We’re living under a lawless Regime and all of you guys allowed it to happen.
You know what Republicans should do? We should talk about it some more. We should have more bland discussions on Fox News panels about the arcaneness of the unpopular law that is killing jobs and is on the verge of destroying our health care system, but by God, we shouldn’t make a move to defund it because that might get the Regime and their friends in the media mad. So we’ll just vent about it on TV and let the Dems “own it.”
Here’s the Dr. K’s plan for Repubs:
For the GOP, Krauthammer recommended a two-pronged attack of stressing the inherent unfairness of the law (such as the subsidy for granted to congressmen and their staff for purchasing health insurance) and simply allowing the law to fall apart due to its flaws.
“As for the train wreck of implementation,” he said, “you don’t have to talk about it. Let it happen, let it unfold and then you comment on it.”
Later on in the segment, the good doctor advised against threatening to take the more drastic measure of attempting to defund Obamacare.
“If you’re going to make a threat, if you’re going to do something, make sure it’s something you are prepared to do,” he warned, and said the GOP ought to shoot for goals that are “less impossible.”
Like holding another vote to repeal ObamaCare in the House. Awesome.
