Obama About to Plunge Us into Another War w/o Congressional Approval, UN Approval, or Consent of the American People

Obama is considering a face-saving strike on Syria without the authorization of Congress, UN approval, or the consent of the American people.

Via Red State:

The plans being floated by President Obama and Secretary of State Kerry for a wildly unpopular military intervention in Syria are incoherent on any number of levels. Rather than identify an enemy and seek the enemy’s defeat, the essential requirement for using military force, the Administration is unwilling to declare the toppling of the Assad regime as a goal – despite Obama’s own proclamation two years ago this month that “[f]or the sake of the Syrian people, the time has come for President Assad to step aside.” Instead, according to one unnamed “U.S. official” quoted by the LA Times, the Administration wants a military strike “just muscular enough not to get mocked.” Churchillian, this is not.

116 Members of Congress signed a letter to Obama warning him about striking Syria without their consent.

House lawmakers from both sides of the aisle sent a letter to President Barack Obama Wednesday asserting that striking Syria without prior Congressional authorization would be unconstitutional.

As we reported Tuesday, the letter penned by Rep. Scott Rigell, R-Va., pushes the president to “receive authorization from Congress before ordering the use of U.S. military force in Syria.”

While the letter lacks signatures from top leaders — Speaker John A. Boehner, R-Ohio, wrote his own letter to Obama Wednesday afternoon — it now has 98 Republican and 18 Democratic supporters.

The letter was sent to the president after 5 p.m. on Wednesday. Among the Republicans on the letter are Homeland Security Chairman Michael McCaul of Texas, House Republican Policy Committee Chairman James Lankford of Oklahoma and some close Boehner allies, including Tom Latham of Iowa, Mike Simpson of Idaho, Tom Cole of Oklahoma, and Tom Price of Georgia.

Democrats include Rep. Peter A. DeFazio of Oregon, the ranking member of the House Natural Resources Committee, and Rep. Collin Peterson of Minnesota, the ranking member of the House Agriculture Committee.

A GOP Congressman is telling Boehner: Call House Back Now to Deal With Syria

Rep. Scott Rigell (R.-Va.)–who served six years in the Marine Corps Reserves, sits on the House Armed Services Committee, and represents the congressional district with the largest concentration of military personnel of any in the nation–said today he is calling on House Speaker John Boehner to call the House back into session to prevent President Barack Obama from usurping Congress’s constitutional authority to authorize—or not authorize—the use of military force in Syria.

“He should be calling the House back right now,” Rigell said of Boehner. “I will be clear on this.”

“I do have a call scheduled with one of our senior leaders this afternoon and I will be making that case,” said Rigell. “I think we’re at this point, and I regret that we’re at this point. But that is where we are.”

He would be acting without the UN’s approval:

The State Department made clear Wednesday that the Obama administration plans to bypass the United Nations Security Council as it prepares for a possible strike on Syria, after having failed to win support from Russia.

In blunt terms, department spokeswoman Marie Harf said last-ditch efforts to win support for an anti-Assad resolution at the U.N. were unsuccessful, and the U.S. would proceed anyway.

“We see no avenue forward given continued Russian opposition to any meaningful council action on Syria,” she said. “Therefore, the United States will continue its consultations and will take appropriate actions to respond in the days ahead.”

And without the consent of the American people:

Americans strongly oppose U.S. intervention in Syria’s civil war and believe Washington should stay out of the conflict even if reports that Syria’s government used deadly chemicals to attack civilians are confirmed, a Reuters/Ipsos poll says.

About 60 percent of Americans surveyed said the United States should not intervene in Syria’s civil war, while just 9 percent thought President Barack Obama should act.

Obviously aware of how unpopular the move is with the American people, President “Daddy Issues”, is avoiding talking to us about it.

With military action against Syria set to begin within hours, according to reports, President Barack Obama and his administration are determining what legal route to take in order to justify the attack. According to NBC News White House reporter Chuck Todd, the administration is leery of seeking Congressional support for a mission in Syria because Congress many decline to bless such an operation. Now, according to reports from POLITICO’s Glenn Thrush, Obama may seek to avoid the American people as well.

Thrush reported on Wednesday that, based on his conversations with aides to the president, Obama will not address the American people about the mission in Syria before hostilities commence. Thrush reports that Obama’s advisors believe addressing Americans from the gravity of the Oval Office or the East Room is “passé.” Furthermore, most Americans who care about the mission in Syria will learn the logic behind it from cable news.

All so he can save face over his stupid “red line” ultimatum which he gave in the heat of a presidential campaign to make himself look strong on foreign policy. We are about to align ourselves with al friggin’ Qaeda so Obama doesn’t look weak and ridiculous.  But he is weak and ridiculous, and the country already embarrassed itself when we reelected him – so who cares if the world laughs at us one more time at Obama’s expense?

Need I even need to mention how the Democrat media complex would be reacting if a Republican President were doing the same thing?

It’s OK When I Do It

The lesson of both Obama’s and Kerry’s history of criticism of the Iraq War (Kerry, you will recall, voted for the war after voting against the original Persian Gulf War on the theory that the first President Bush hadn’t assembled a large enough coalition) is that it was primarily driven by partisan opposition to George W. Bush, rather than any particular principled view of how to run American foreign policy. In that light, it is perhaps unsurprising that the arguments made against Bush have been discarded and forgotten, just as all but a tiny minority of the anti-war movement has been silent on Obama’s Libyan and Syrian adventures (and the internet chorus that branded Bush and Cheney as “chickenhawks” has been silent on Obama’s and Biden’s lack of military service). But being in charge requires more than just blind partisanship, and five years into his presidency, Obama seems lost in formulating an approach to the use of military force that makes any sort of coherent sense.

By the way, I’m not even convinced that it was the Syrian regime and not the rebels who used the chemical weapons.

Exhibit 1: Panetta, Sept. 28, 2012: WE LOST TRACK OF SYRIAN WMDS:

Today, Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta announced that the US no longer had knowledge of the whereabouts of some Syrian chemical weapons, and admitted that those weapons may have been funneled to rebels or Iranian proxies. “There has been intelligence that there have been some moves that have taken place,” said Panetta. “Where exactly that’s taken place, we don’t know.”

Panetta maintained that the most dangerous weapons were the ones still in possession of the Syrian government. But “with regards to the movement of some of this and whether or not they’ve been able to locate some of it, we just don’t know.”

Exhibit Two: Evidence: Syrian Rebels used Chemical Weapons (not Assad)

…even before Assad’s forces gained the momentum, a UN official reportedly found evidence of rebels using chemical weapons but no evidence Assad’s regime did. This, from a Washington Times article by Shaun Waterman dated May 6, 2013:

Testimony from victims strongly suggests it was the rebels, not the Syrian government, that used Sarin nerve gas during a recent incident in the revolution-wracked nation, a senior U.N. diplomat said Monday.

Carla del Ponte, a member of the U.N. Independent International Commission of Inquiry on Syria, told Swiss TV there were “strong, concrete suspicions but not yet incontrovertible proof,” that rebels seeking to oust Syrian strongman Bashar al-Assad had used the nerve agent.

But she said her panel had not yet seen any evidence of Syrian government forces using chemical weapons, according to the BBC, but she added that more investigation was needed. {emphasis ours}

Today, while the rebels are more desperate than they were at the time of that article, evidence of rebels using chemical weapons is available; evidence Assad’s regime has used them is not.

Waterman wrote…

Rebel Free Syrian Army spokesman Louay Almokdad denied that rebels had use chemical weapons.

That doesn’t square with a video uploaded on August 23, 2013, in which Free Syrian operatives threatened to launch chemical weapons:

Exhibit Three: John Brennan, the CIA, and Chemical weapons Propaganda:

It’s important to consider where this information is coming from – the CIA. This past February, in an article written by Steven Emerson that appeared on the Fox News website, the terrorism expert wrote about why John Brennan was the wrong man for the job of directing the intelligence agency:

Brennan’s White House tenure shows a disturbing tendency to engage with Islamist groups which often are hostile to American anti-terrorism policies at home and abroad. Those meetings confer legitimacy upon the groups as representatives of all Muslim Americans, despite research indicating that the community is far too diverse to have any one group represent its concerns.

A Feb. 13, 2010 speech Brennan gave at the New York University School of Law serves as an example.

It was organized by the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a group founded by Muslim Brotherhood members in the United States, some of whom remain active with the organization. And, although it denied any Brotherhood connection in 2007, exhibits in evidence in a Hamas-support trial show ISNA’s “intimate relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood.” {emphasis ours}

Exhibit Four: (The most solid evidence as far as I’m concerned…) Jay Carney says it’s “preposterous to suggest anyone but Assad Regime used the chemical weapons:

I’m not aware of any doubt,” White House Press Secretary Jay Carney told reporters in response if there was a question if the Assad regime used chemical weapons last week in a heinous attack on Syrian civilians. “Suggestions that there is any doubt about who is responsible about this are as preposterous as suggestions that the attack itself didn’t occur,” Carney said.

That proves it.. The Assad Regime didn’t do the chemical weapons attack because as we know, every day is opposite day with Jay Carney.

Give me one reason why I should believe a single thing that comes out of that man’s mouth.

Obama’s MLK Speech in 2002 Questioned Dr. King’s Philosophy of Nonviolence (Video)

On the 50th Anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech, the president gave a speech that lauded the civil rights leader’s commitment to nonviolence.

“Many had gone to segregated schools and sat at segregated lunch counters, had lived in towns where they couldn’t vote, in cities where their votes didn’t matter. There were couples in love who couldn’t marry, soldiers who fought for freedom abroad that they found denied to them at home. They had seen loved ones beaten and children fire- hosed. And they had every reason to lash out in anger or resign themselves to a bitter fate.

And yet they chose a different path. In the face of hatred, they prayed for their tormentors. In the face of violence, they stood up and sat in with the moral force of nonviolence. Willingly, they went to jail to protest unjust laws, their cells swelling with the sound of freedom songs. A lifetime of indignities had taught them that no man can take away the dignity and grace that God grants us. They had learned through hard experience what Frederick Douglas once taught: that freedom is not given; it must be won through struggle and discipline, persistence and faith.”

But just eleven years ago, as an Illinois State Senator, Obama had a very different message. In a speech at a church in Chicago on Martin Luther King Day, he openly questioned MLK’s philosophy of nonviolence, which he suggested only made sense in a society in which the powerful had been brought down a peg. He suggested that the powerful’s lack of empathy undermined the notion that those without power should remain nonviolent.

The video was unearthed by Verum Serum’s Morgen Richmond, last year and posted at  Patterico’s on Oct. 3:

The philosophy of nonviolence only makes sense if the powerful can be made to recognize themselves in the powerless. It only makes sense if the powerless can be made to recognize themselves in the powerful. You know, the principle of empathy gives broader meaning, by the way, to Dr. King’s philosophy of nonviolence. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but rich people are all for nonviolence. Why wouldn’t they be? They’ve got what they want. They want to make sure people don’t take their stuff. But the principle of empathy recognizes that there are more subtle forms of violence to which we are answerable. The spirit of empathy condemns not only the use of firehoses and attack dogs to keep people down but also accountants and tax loopholes to keep people down. I’m not saying that what Enron executives did to their employees is the moral equivalent of what Bull Connor did to black folks, but I’ll tell you what, the employees at Enron feel violated. When a company town sees its plant closing because some distant executives made some decision despite the wage concessions, despite the tax breaks, and they see their entire economy collapsing, they feel violence . . .

Chilling, considering the explosion of black on white violence that has taken place since Obama was elected. One violent  St. Louis gang even named themselves after the president.

There are four felony counts of first-degree assault, four felony counts of armed criminal action and two felonies for allegedly firing a gun from a vehicle and hitting people pending against a St. Louis suspect whom police identified as a member of the “Obama Boyz” gang.

Erik Rush, author of “Negrophilia: From slave block to pedestal – America’s racial obsession,” told WND it “shouldn’t be particularly surprising that a subculture of young, angry black men is proliferating under President Obama.”

“While his tone when addressing matters of race and racial tension is usually measured and compassionate, his rhetoric is what I call ‘artfully divisive,’” Rush said. “It legitimizes and reinforces all of the worst beliefs of propagandized blacks, as well as the more militant and radical worldview of those who subscribe to same. His administration has also labored furtively but very effectively to heighten racial tension, I submit in order to precipitate civil unrest and thereby advance its communist agenda.”

In 1980, as a student at Occidental College and member of the Democrat Socialist Alliance, Obama believed a violent Communist revolution was needed in America, and it would take Marxists like him to guide the process along.

Fellow Marxist (now conservative) Dr. John Drew describes him as “a garden variety Marxist-Leninist. He and Boss and his sophomore year roommate, Hasan Chandoo, believed that social forces were creating an inevitable Communist revolution in the U.S. and that it was important to have a highly trained elite of educated leaders guide this revolutionary process and oversee it once the revolution took place.”

Asked by Jamie Glazov of FrontPage Magazine, “what did Obama say that made you think he was a Marxist?” Drew responded:

I only remember bits and fragments of the actual conversation. I remember that Obama reacted negatively to my suggestion that it was wrong to ever expect a Communist revolution in the U.S. given the experience of Western Europe. I definitely remember him taking about the need to prepare ourselves and the people for the coming Communist revolution. I remember that he was particularly good at arguing the perspective of Frantz Fanon’s anti-colonial revolutionary thought. I had read Fanon, but his writing was not authoritative to me the way it seemed to be for Boss and Obama.

FP: Tell us why this is significant today.

Drew: I think it is significant, in part, because it helps demonstrate the impact that Frank Marshall Davis had on young Obama. It was very unusual for such a young student at Occidental College to be such an intense believer in Marxist ideology. It turns out Obama last met with Davis only about four months prior to Obama first meeting with me.

Obama has never demonstrated in word or deed  that he ever converted from Marxist to capitalist.

MLK DAY News Round-Up:

The Conversation: DHS Knew About Racist Employee’s Activities Since 2010:

Irritated Genie released a new audio clip Tuesday in which he claims that his supervisors were aware of his outside activities since December 2010. According to Genie, whose real name is Ayo Kimathi, his employers found out about his beliefs when his real name was outed on a podcast. Kimathi was encouraged to stick it out by someone who said the government wouldn’t act. It seems this person was right as no action was taken against Kimathi until recently when someone he works with went to the media with the story.

At this point is it unreasonable to assume that if the Kimathi’s virulently racist activities were allowed to continue, they were condoned?

Weasel Zippers: Poll: Americans Who Say Race Relations Are Good Down A Massive 27 Points Since Obama Was Elected, Drops From 79% To 52%…

The left’s non-stop race baiting is taking a toll.

Via NBC News:

Fifty years ago, Martin Luther King Jr. declared his desire for a more colorblind America in his stirring “I have a dream” speech.

“I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character,” he said in one of his most memorable lines.

But five decades after the March on Washington, just a bare majority of Americans – and fewer than one-in-five African Americans – believe that dream has been realized.

What’s more, the percentage of Americans who think race relations in the country are good has declined considerably since President Barack Obama – the nation’s first black president – took office in 2009.

Red Alert Politics: Nation’s only black Senator not invited to speak at March on Washington:

Noticeably absent from the speaker line-up at the Let Freedom Ring event commemorating the 50th anniversary of the March on Washington today: the nation’s only black Senator, Tim Scott.

Scott, a Republican Representative appointed by S.C. Governor Nikki Haley earlier this year to fill former Sen. Jim DeMint’s seat in the U.S. Senate after he retired, was not invited to participate in the historic event, a spokesperson for the Senator confirmed to Red Alert Politics in an email.

The American Thinker: Peaceful George… Another Son of Obama:

The police say Jorge approached the white senior and demanded that he leave the park, telling the old guy that, “He shouldn’t be in his park where young black kids are playing.” When the obstinate old coot stood his ground, he promptly got pounded into it by Jorge who reportedly smacked the surly septuagenarian several times in the face knocking him to the ground, according to multiple witnesses. Jorge then allegedly threatened to go get a gun, a witness reported.

Jorge, demonstrating the usual mental acuity of a Son of Obama, hung around following the assault and only jack-rabbited when the police arrived. When he was apprehended he was reportedly well-prepared for further martial engagement. Police confiscated a 9mm Sig Sauer P239, a magazine containing five hollow-point rounds, a set of brass knuckles, and two voter registration cards in his name. It would seem all those draconian gun control laws they have in Connecticut really made an impression on Citizen Jorge, who is a convicted felon pending trial on charges of illegal possession of a firearm in a vehicle and numerous drug violations. Yep, those strict gun laws really work, don’t they?

Colin Flaherty: Black mob pounces on woman: ‘Shut up white [bleep!]’

The black mob attack happened Sunday as Slepski pulled up to a stop sign in the black part of Pittsburgh.

Channel 11 News in Pittsburgh picks up the story:

Slepski was savagely beaten after the girls threw a bottle at her car on Concord Street and she stopped to confront them.

“I was mad. I knew they were younger. I thought they were in their early 20s. I got out and said, ‘What is your problem?’” Slepski said.

All four African-American girls then called her names before getting physically violent.

“They yelled, ‘Shut up white [expletive].’ The other said, ‘Get that white [expletive],’” Slepski said.

Slepski said she tried to get back into her car but the girls grabbed her by the hair.

“The one punched me in the head and I was on a set of concrete steps and my head hit the concrete so hard,” said Slepski. “Then they all got on top of me and all their hands were in my hair. They kept telling each other to, ‘Kick her in the head. Kick her head in the concrete.’”

So where is Eric Holder? Where is Jocelyn Samuels (jocelyn.samuels@usdoj.gov), the replacement for Assistant Attorney General Tom Perez who could prosecute this crime under federal civil rights laws?

Remember those? Those are the ones Eric Holder made a point to mention at the NAACP convention in Orlando, blustering that he might prosecute the acquitted George Zimmerman.

Well here’s an easy case, Eric. It won’t be too hard to prove a violation of 18 USC 249 or 18 USC 245 in this context. No outrageous self-defense defenses here.

But like in all the other similar cases you refuse to prosecute, the victim here wasn’t one of “your people.”

Who’s On First?: State Dept. Spox Befuddles Press With Nonsensical Answers (Video)

While announcing no meeting between Palestinian and Israeli officials was cancelled Monday (contrary to earlier reports), Deputy State Department Press Secretary Marie Harf also said that she cannot confirm if any meeting actually took place at a State Department press briefing that elicited a frustrated reaction from the AP’s Matthew Lee and CNN’s Elise Labott.

Clearly, now that Obama’s been reelected, the media has outlived its usefulness to the Regime. The “most transparent administration in US history” will not answer questions that do not further his agenda. Video: Tea Party Threatens To Rename ObamaCare to BoehnerCare – Protests in Front Of Boehner’s Office

The group Faith2Action held a rally with several hundred people in front of House Speaker Boehner’s office in Ohio, Tuesday, their message to  Boehner being – support the defund ObamaCare effort, or they’ll rename the Affordable Care Act BoehnerCare.

Miami County News reported:

Faith2Action, led by its president Janet Porter and supporters in the Tea Party, Pro-Family and Christian leadership movements, say Boehner, who is the Speaker of the House, needs to push to stop the Affordable Care Act.
“If the Speaker doesn’t use the power of the purse to stop Obamacare it will forever be known as ‘Boehnercare,'” Porter said in a press release issued Monday.

“The Speaker needs to listen to his base instead of liberal Democrats and the media who will never support him,” added Lori Viars, vice president of Warren County Right to Life. “Congress controls the purse strings, and Republicans control Congress. Speaker Boehner has the power to stop Obamacare; we are calling on him to use it.”

Janet Porter was a guest on Greta Van Sustern’s Fox show, “On the Record”:

The left-wing group, ProgressOhio had reportedly tried to organize a counter-protest in front of Boehner’s office at the same time in support of the Affordable Care Act,  but ended up holding a lightly attended “press conference” instead.

ProgressOhio gathered today alongside activists and community organizers to ask the Heritage Foundation why they continue to stand against health care for children, the elimination of pre-exisiting conditions, and reproductive services for women.

Thug Tries The Knockout Game With An Armed Man in Lansing, MI – Gets Popped In The Leg

Race-Riots

A new version of the Knockout Game that involved a stun gun didn’t work out too well for the  Lansing, Mich. thug who had planned to use it on his next victim.  Instead of punching the victim in the face, he used a taser  — a KL-800 Type Stun Gun capable of generating 1.8 million volts. But the intended victim had other ideas.

The assailants had scouted the site, the victim and even practiced firing the taser. But then it all went wrong. Or right.

When Marvell Weaver jammed the taser into the ribs of the still unidentified man and pulled the trigger, it jammed. The target pulled out his .40 caliber Smith and Wesson and shot  Weaver as he tried to escape to the getaway van where two of his accomplices waited.

According to MLive.com:

Weaver ran, sat down across the street, his leg going numb, bleeding. Pleading.

“‘I’m sorry, please don’t kill me, I don’t know why I did that, I’m high you know, I just wanna go home,’” the teen told the man who had just shot him.

He lived. This happened in May, while the intended victim was picking up his child at a school bus stop. The story came out this week.

According to author Colin Flaherty, the knockout “game” is not random.

It is a very racially charged “game” with very strong criteria for “target” selection.

There are many, many reasons for “target” selection beyond “than they are there.” There is the inherent hatred of the participants along with their boredom and restlessness, accompanied by a “they got and I don’t, so what does it matter if I hurt them” mentality.

In St. Louis alone, a judge said one person was responsible for 300 episodes of the Knockout Game. In Oklahoma, an accused killer of the Australian college student Chris Lane tweeted that he was “playing golf” and hitting “woods” prior to the murder earlier this month. Woods is short for “peckerwoods:” White people. The Knockout Game.

More at WND:

The Knockout Game is documented in Flaherty’s book, “White Girl Bleed a Lot:  Many of the examples are on video, which readers of the new edition can see by scanning a QR code as they read about it in the book.
