White House Official: Obama Would Rather Default Than Sit Down And Negotiate With Republicans

Well, we’re entering some dangerous territory here, alright. Obama is using his and his supporters’ contempt for the Republican party to allow him to send the economy into a tailspin. He wants this – not only because he thinks he can blame the Republicans….he just wants this.

Via The Hill:

Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) said Monday that President Obama is putting the economy at risk by refusing to negotiate with Republicans over spending and the debt ceiling.

“The president’s refusal to negotiate is hurting our economy and putting our country at risk,” Boehner said on the House floor.

Boehner expressed disbelief at reports that Obama would rather see a debt default than talk to Republicans.

“This morning, a senior White House official this morning said that the president would rather default than to sit down and negotiate,” he said. “Really?”

“The American people expect when their leaders have differences, and we’re in a time of crisis, that we’ll sit down and at least have a conversation,” he added. “Really, Mr. President, it’s time to have that conversation before our economy is put further at risk.”Boehner rarely speaks on the House floor, but this was his third appearance in the last week. It also follows a Sunday appearance on ABC’s “This Week” in which he insisted he would not agree to bring a “clean” debt ceiling hike to the floor, and argued it would not pass.

UPDATE:

Here is Boehner’s speech on the House floor: POTUS Would Rather Default Than Negotiate:

The GOP conference released this video to illustrate the unreasonable position of the White House.

Today, Jay Carney lashed out at ABC’s Jonathan Karl for asking a question about the debt ceiling:

  1. What does it matter? I’ve come to the conclusion that a majority of Americans have now developed some form of irreversible mental pathology. It keeps them from seeing ANY negative facts about this man and his actions.

He could personally steal away their home at gun point (who cares about hypocrisy when it comes to “the Bumma”), throw the contents of an unflushed commode in their faces, steal the clothes from off their backs in the middle of a snowstorm and flog their children with a cat o’ nine tails–he could do all that and they would STILL talk about how wonderful this POS is and put his bumper sticker on the back of their car.

This is no longer a political battle this is a psychological study writ large. How well does 20-30 years of PC brainwashing work on the general public? The answer: Disturbingly well.

  2. Why are some of us so much more susceptible to the PC brainwashing than others of us? I thoughtfor 5 years that the race card would lose its power and become the sick joke it is whenever the left deployed it, only to realize that it is obviously still effective since they keep using it.

What are the people who are looking at their O-Care premiums now and saying – ‘hey I’m all for letting poor people have health insurance – I just didn’t think I was going to be the one paying for it’ – when they get called racists by the left? Will that wake them up? Or will they subserviently pay their higher premiums without further complaint for “the greater good.”

  3. Andrew C. McCarthy’s piece at ‘National Review Institute’, “Obamacare’s Unconstitutional Origins”, should be read by every American! and then call your Rep to support HR 153! It really needs to go viral!

  4. Oh my! The bad news is because of the shut_down, apparently, cannot even leave a message to my Rep! Too bad, + also wanted to call Senator Cruz to tell him, Thank You, and, to hang in there, not to be discouraged by his fellow brother- Republicans!

You nailed it, and I couldn’t agree more. I’ve watched in utter disbelief at the insanity that constitutes the liberal mind. No one could possibly witness Barry’s words and actions and still think this creature is fit to sit in the presidential seat ~ you’d have to be completely mad.

I’ve come to the conclusion that what we’re witnessing is supernatural. There’s no other plausible explanation other than God’s hand in this. He promised He would send this very kind of madness to those who reject Him, and He has.

“And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they receive not the love of the Truth, that they might be saved.
And for this cause God shall send them STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe a lie:
That they all might be dam ned who believed not the Truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”
    II Thess. 2:10-12

  6. Let Obama bring it on! He will loose big time. Live free or die. Death is not the worst of evils. Letting a slob like Obama get away with his lies and deceit is shameful.

  8. Each of us is responsible for getting the word out about the harmful actions this Administration is taking to make this government shutdown as painful as possible for all Americans — the Administration’s press IS NOT going to cover these so we must all become journalists.

Obamacare’s telephone number spells “F**KYO” is interesting in view of Obama’s LEAN FORWARD motto during the last campaign.
