Generation Opportunity to Award CGI Federal with Prestigious Youth Defender Award

GENERATION OPPORTUNITY YOUTH DEFENDER AWARD

I’m not sure, but the following Generation Opportunity press release that just landed in my email – may be snark. Maybe…

You be the judge:

Generation Opportunity is proud to announce CGI Federal, the American subsidiary of the Canadian multinational CGI Group and the main contractor behind HealthCare.gov, as the winner of the first ever Youth Defender Award. CGI is recognized for doing more than anyone to date to save young people from the increased costs and privacy invasions of Obamacare.

Clearly, CGI was concerned that if young Americans were able to log-in and enroll, the government would compile their sensitive personal information into a federal datahub already proven insecure. Millennials are already suffering 15.9% youth unemployment and can hardly afford to pay the skyrocketing premiums under Obamacare anyway.

Ezra Klein lauded CGI’s efforts on behalf of young people, saying [t]hey have a Web site that almost nobody has been able to successfully use.” Sure, CGI is billing the governmentover 300% of their original contract, and taxpayers could be on the hook for $292 million dollars for the healthcare equivalent of Project ORCA. But no cost is too much to bear to help young people avoid this expensive and creepy law.

Generation Opportunity congratulates all the worthy candidates, including the runner-up, HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who reminded young people on The Daily Show that they can get the same exemption from Obamacare as businesses by opting out and paying the penalty. After all, Sebelius had the foresight to hire CGI knowing they had a track record of protecting patients from government-run health care. The Canadian governmenthad previously fired CGI’s parent company for failing to create a functioning website for Ontario’s medical registry.

Through a puppet whisperer, Creepy Uncle Sam, unofficial spokesman for Obamacare, issued the following statement:

“I am disappointed that CGI Federal has been successful enough to receive this honor (or honour, as they would say back in Canada). I can only realize my dream of playing doctor and snooping on young Americans if they enroll in Obamacare.

“On the bright side, CGI has helped set the Obamacare implementation bar so low that nobody can now expect the government to offer anything but expensive, inefficient, and low-quality health care.”

Generation Opportunity is a national, non-partisan organization advocating for economic opportunity for young people through less government and more freedom.

ACLJ Widens IRS Lawsuit – Says Obama’s Fingerprints all Over the Scandal (Video)

A conservative legal group, the American Center for Law and Justice announced Monday that it was widening the net of its lawsuit against the Obama administration for the IRS’s targeting of Tea Party groups.

The ACLJ first sued administration and IRS officials back in May, and is now including several other officials from the tax agency to an amended lawsuit.

Via the Hill:

Those officials include Doug Shulman, the former IRS commissioner who was at the helm when the targeting occurred, and William Wilkins, the agency’s chief counsel and one of only two political appointees at the IRS.

Sarah Hall Ingram, now a key IRS official helping to implement President Obama’s healthcare law, is also named in the new suit.

Chief Counsel of the ACLJ Jay Sekulow appeared on Fox News, yesterday to talk about the lawsuit, and his contention that Obama was involved in the IRS scandal by virtue of a string of public statements he made. Sekulow said, “it looks like that what happened, is the IRS and its higher ups were reacting to statements that were made by the Commander in Chief. We don’t have a memo (at least at this point) from the White House to the IRS, but we do have a situation where statements made by the president, resulted in actions taken by the IRS, so why he should be shocked that there was this targeting going on – is really a bit confusing at this point, to say the least.”
It’s not confusing to those of us who already assume that 95% of what comes out of the man’s mouth is utter BS – but it should raise the suspicions of even the dimmer lofo bulbs out there.

In a Fox News oped, Sekulow charged that Obama’s fingerprints are all over the IRS/Tea Party scandal and detailed the “long-running assault on the Tea Party, beginning shortly after its emergence in 2009, that is empowered, encouraged, and orchestrated not only by senior IRS officials in Washington, but also through outright targeting by the White House, Congressional Democrats, and the mainstream media.”

Consider President Obama’s aggressive public statements – made just as we now know senior IRS officials were intentionally and aggressively scrutinizing conservative groups’ applications for tax exemption.

On August 9, 2010 the president warned of “attack ads run by shadowy groups with harmless-sounding names” during his weekly radio address.  The President said:  We don’t know who’s behind these ads and we don’t know who’s paying for them . . . you don’t know if it’s a foreign controlled corporation. … The only people who don’t want to disclose the truth are people with something to hide.”

On September 16, 2010, President Obama once again warned that some unidentified “foreign-controlled entity” could be providing “millions of dollars” for “attack ads.”  Less than one week later, he complained that “nobody knows” the identities of the individuals who support conservative groups.

On September 22, 2010, President Obama warned of groups opposing his policies “pos[ing] as non-for-profit social and welfare trade groups” and he claimed such groups were “guided by seasoned Republican political operatives” and potentially supported by some unidentified “foreign controlled entity.”

On October 14, 2010, President Obama called organizations with “benign sounding” names “a problem for democracy”; the next week he complained about individuals who “hide behind those front groups,” called such groups a “threat to our democracy,” and claimed such groups were engaged in “unsupervised” spending.

Next, consider the IRS’s actions following those statements.  Not only did the IRS continue its targeting, it issued broad questionnaires that made unconstitutionally-intrusive inquiries designed to get answers to exactly the questions President Obama posed.

Jay Sekulow also spoke with Lou Dobbs on Fox News about the ACLJ lawsuit against the IRS now including top officials.

Video: ICE President Chris Crane: Obama Has “A Real Dislike For ICE Agents and Officers”

ICE Council President, Chris Crane has to be the most frustrated man in America. His union represents about 7,600 ICE officers, agents and support staff, and they have been prohibited by the Regime from enforcing the law they took oaths to uphold. And to add insult to injury, he  has been repeatedly shut out of all of the Obama administration’s Immigration reform deliberations. Crane, noting the harsh statements Obama made about ICE back in 2008 when he was running for president, indicated that he believes Obama has “a real dislike” for ICE agents and the mission they perform.

Did you ever think you’d hear a law enforcement officer come to such a devastatingly sad conclusion about their own president?

Crane told Fox News’ Shannon Bream, Monday, that Obama has “effectively told ICE agents that they can no longer enforce immigration law” and he thinks it’s past time the House looked into the administration’s lawlessness on that score.

“We’re prohibited from enforcing immigration law even if it applies to criminals,” the ICE Union head lamented.  He expressed frustration with Congress for holding hearings on Benghazi, the IRS, etc, while neglecting to investigate the president’s lawless activities in regards to immigration. “Something. has. to. be. done,” he declared. “There’s no law that anyone can pass that’s going to work effectively until we address the problem of this president, or future presidents ignoring the laws enacted by congress.”

The Obama administration has claimed that they have to be selective about who they arrest for immigration violations because of limited resources – putting a higher priority on accused criminals, but Crane has claimed that the they have been releasing people who are violent criminals.   Bream noted that that fact fails to square with what the administration has been saying the goal is.

“Nothing that this administration does matches up to what they’re saying publicly,” he answered dryly.

Crane  continued to complain that under the current administration, “you can be in the country illegally, you can have an extensive criminal history, you can have multiple criminal convictions for serious offenses,  and there is nothing we can do to touch you.”

And he explained how the administration has been cooking the books to account for their “record number of deportations.”

“The numbers the president has been presenting every year as record numbers of deportations, are actually for the most part, non violent, non criminal illegal aliens apprehended at the border by the Border Patrol. And the administration transfers those numbers over as interior apprehensions. So nothing this president is doing behind the scenes matches what is publicly being done.”

“The president brings a real dislike for ICE Agents and Officers and the mission that we perform, Crane lamented. “I think there’s a real misunderstanding about what we do…and for that reason, he has absolutely refused to let us be a part of any conversation.”
