Things have been looking up for Bill Elliott, the cancer patient who lost his coverage, last month, appeared on Fox News to talk about it, and got it back with the help of health insurance broker, C. Steven Tucker. He and Tucker both received audit letters from the IRS on the same day, about a week later. But with the help of some SC and NC politicians, he was able to have his audit terminated. Best of all, in late November his doctor told him his cancer was in full remission.
Elliott contracted cancer in 2007 when he was exposed to some radiological contamination in his work as a chemical and biological trainer to the military. He received a settlement from the government in 2009 – the same year that the IRS wanted to audit – even though they should have known the settlement money was tax exempt.
Yesterday, Elliott revealed that one of the congressmen he sought out for help with his audit, told him that he believed the harassment “came from the top”.
Since going public with his story, Elliott’s cell phone has been bombarded with hateful, and unhinged text messages from Obama cultists. He shared some of the nicer ones on his Facebook page:
