Video: Former Seal Pursues Assailents After Being Shot In Stomach

chris heben

Former Special Operator 1st Class (SEAL) Chris Heben was on his way to buy his mother a birthday gift March 28 when an altercation in the  Bath Township, Ohio, shopping center parking lot became deadly and he was shot in the lower abdomen. Operating out of instinct, Heben, 44, hopped in his truck and tried to pursue his assailant while holding a finger in his bullet wound. It wasn’t long before he  was seeing stars, so pulled over at the police station and get some medical help.

The Navy Times interviewed  Heben about the incident:

It all started when a gray, low-profile sports car nearly backed up into him in the parking lot. Heben said they exchanged strong words, but no one was yelling.

“You almost ran me over,” he recalled saying. “If I wasn’t paying attention, I’d be under your car right now.”

Thinking the situation was over, he headed for the Mustard Seed Market & Cafe. But then the car came back and Heben got shot.

Navy Times spoke to Heben over the phone April 3, following his discharge from the hospital.

Q. What happened when the car pulled up?

A. I’m going toward the store and he comes up next to me and shoots me through the door, basically. He said, “you got a real big mouth and you need to learn some respect. Where I come from we have to earn respect. I’d be willing to help you with that right now,” or something like that.

And then he looked at his buddy, turned back and looked at me, and that’s when I felt like I got mule-kicked in the gut. I never saw a gun.

I had a gun in my car at that time, a Glock. If I would have had the gun on me, I still think, legally, I couldn’t have shot because I didn’t see a gun.

Q. Did you see the plate?

A. No, but that’s why I gave chase. I’m all amped up. You know, I’m a SEAL — I’m not thinking 911, I’m thinking, ‘must catch people.’

Q. How long did you follow the car?

A. I could never get more than 75 yards from them because I have a truck, they have a souped up little car. At some point in time, I’m like, I can’t follow these guys anymore. There’s a police station literally right here, I’m going to pull in there and get some help.

I went from seeing stars to like, looking through a kaleidoscope into a lava lamp. Everything was kind of blue.

I would just guess it was less than five minutes. My belly was on fire. I got shot about five inches below my belly button and about an inch over from that.

It was burning, my heart’s racing, I’m sweating, my eyes aren’t working. And I’m thinking, what’s the end game here? If you catch up to them, and you probably won’t, what are you going to do?

You’re going to pit maneuver them, and spin them out, and hope you can get out with your gun? And you still haven’t seen a gun, and now you’re pursuing people, which is outside of the concealed carry statutes. Dude, just get help.

WND reported  that Heben stated in an “exclusive interview” with reporter F. Michael Maloof that there might be a terrorist connection to the shooting.

A former U.S. Navy SEAL who publicly had expressed concern about terror attacks on the U.S. electrical grid believes he became the target of an al-Qaida attack – or a mercenary hired by al-Qaida – in the United States.

But after reflection, he thinks it might be part of a series of unprovoked attacks on SEALs.

Heben recently had been prominently featured on Fox News and other media outlets, issuing a warning of the prospect of terrorist attacks on the U.S. electrical grid system.

Asked about the report on Facebook, Heben said,  “I spoke with the author briefly, and he definitely made some stretches. I told him that I didn’t ‘think’ I was targeted, but it isn’t outside the realm of possibility. I also NEVER told him that I had a definitive description of the neck tattoo’s, only that I saw some. He also never asked me for an official interview. The message: Never trust anyone.”-CMH

NRO: Krauthammer’s Take: The Left’s Discourse Toward Mozilla CEO Is ‘Totalitarian’:

The Hammer is calling for a counter-boycott:

“This is the culture of the left not being satisfied with making an argument, or even prevailing in an argument, but in destroying personally and marginalizing people who oppose them,” he said.

“In the same way that proponents of climate change declare the issue closed — it’s over, there’s no debate, it is settled science — and therefore anybody who is skeptical of that is considered anti-science, and is called a denier – in a conscious way to echo that there’s some kind of moral or intellectual equivalent to denying the holocaust.

“In the same way, people are now declaring that the national debate that we’ve had for a decade or two on gay marriage is closed, and anybody who opposes gay marriage is a bigot and should be written out of polite society, ostracized and should lose their jobs,” he continued.

“This is totalitarian discourse, and it shows a level of intolerance that is absolutely — it should be unacceptable, and people ought to get what they’re giving out and field a counter-boycott.”

Gateway Pundit: Opie and Anthony Blast Obamacare After Losing Insurance: “I Don’t Know Why We’re Not Having a Revolution” (Video):

The hosts of the very popular “Opie & Anthony Show” on SiriusXM Radio went off on Obamacare Thursday after revealing their health care plans have been cancelled due to new regulations.

“I don’t know why we’re not having a revolution.”

Dear Mr. Obama,

Congratulations on getting 7.1 million people enrolled in Obamacare before the March 31st deadline!

Not to muddy the festivities by harping on technicalities, but I thought I’d pass along just a few corrections, in case you plan on giving anymore speeches or anything:

Alright, by ‘March 31st’ you mean ‘sometime in April,’ and by ‘deadline’ you mean‘suggestion which is subject to change.’

And, obviously, by ‘enrolled’ you mean ‘people who have filled some information out on a website.’

And by ’7.1 million’ you mean ‘probably like 858 thousand or something.’

In your speech on Tuesday, when you said that Obamacare is ‘the law’ and ‘it’s here to stay,’ you really meant that Obamacare is ‘a fluid and constantly adjusted set of unconstitutional decrees, which can be imposed or withdrawn by the Executive Branch at any point, for any reason, up to 21 times and counting.’ And by ‘here to stay,’you actually meant to say that ‘most of it is neither here nor staying, because you don’t want America to feel the full brunt of it until after the midterm elections.’

You claimed that ‘more than 3 million young adults have gained insurance’ by staying on their parents’ plan. Even if that were true, it seems to take for granted that there’s anything remotely positive about the government forcing insurance companies to treat 25-year-old men and women like children. But, more importantly, it isn’t.

Indeed, when you said ‘more than 3 million,’ you really meant ‘extrapolations based on faulty estimates conjured up by Health and Human Services almost two years ago have brought us to the dubious conclusion that we can claim 3 million, because nobody will understand how we arrived at that figure, and most everyone will be too lazy to even attempt to check our numbers.’

You appeared to venture into the vicinity of truth when you stated that Obamacare is‘doing what it’s supposed to do,‘ but then you forgot to stipulate what, precisely, that happens to be.

It has not, nor was it meant to, make insurance cheaper and more accessible – but it has stripped away choice and freedom, and made more people dependent on the government.

The Blaze: ‘Don’t Think That Can’t Happen’: Rush Limbaugh’s Terrifying Vision of Where the ‘Road We Are on’ Leads:

Conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh on Friday painted a horrifying picture of “what things will look like” if the United States stays on the “road that we are on.”

“The road that we are on takes us back to the Great Depression,” he said. “That’s what things will look like: People lined up for food, shelter. It’s gonna be ugly. People will be losing their savings and their pensions and their investments, in any number of ways.”

Limbaugh said when a country truly “collapses” the value of money “evaporates” or the government “takes it, confiscates it.”

Powerline: Hillary Struggles To List Accomplishments At State:

Hillary Clinton’s greatest accomplishments as Secretary of State — it sounds like a good idea for a short article. Perhaps a short article assigned by a malicious editor.

Asked by a friendly questioner (Tom Friedman) to identify her greatest accomplishments as Secretary, Hillary Clinton gave a two-minute answer that has a sort of “Where’s Waldo?” quality to it (video below). It might be passable for low-information voters, but she should probably sharpen that answer up a bit as she prepares to seek higher office.

It looked like peaches and cream for the folks behind the camera interviewing those gathered at the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference in Washington, D..C. late last month.

The reporter with the microphone asked attendees what feminism meant to them and what it could mean to others, and it was all smiles and positivity and declarations that feminism was “for everyone” and “more inclusive.”

That is until they learned the reporter was from Campus Reform, a conservative news outlet that focuses on college students.

August 29, 2013: Patrick the Miracle Dog’s Abuser Gets Probation, Fine:

The woman who pleaded guilty to animal cruelty for starving a pit bull, stuffing him in a trash bag and tossing him down a garbage chute in Newark, N.J., must serve probation and pay restitution to the animal care group that helped rescue the pup.

Kisha Curtis, 29, pleaded guilty last month to fourth-degree animal cruelty on the eve of her trial. She was charged in March 2011 after the dog, named Patrick, was found near death.

At her sentencing Thursday, the judge said Curtis would be required to serve 18 months probation and forfeit her right to Patrick, who has not been in her care since he was found.

She’ll also be required to pay nearly $2,000 to the New Jersey ASPCA, which gave the pup emergency care before he was moved to a veterinary hospital in Tinton Falls.

Curtis told NBC 4 New York her sentence was fair.

“I value the judge’s decision, and I’m going to make moves in life to make sure that I don’t make the same mistake again,” she said.

That was some “mistake” you made, Kisha.
