One of the best kept secrets surrounding the Benghazi attack, is where the president was and what he was doing while it was going on. Former White House National Security Council Spokesman, Tommy Vieter told Bret Baier on Fox News, Thursday night, that Obama never made it to the Situation Room. Which is quite shocking, really – since the attack went on for over seven hours.
So where was the Commander in Chief – and what was he doing?
The White House visitor log for September 11, 2012 can offer some clues. Three men visited POTUS on 9/11 for debate prep. There is no time listed for the visits, but it’s safe to say they were lengthy.

Mike Donilon’s brother is Tom Donilon, who was former National security adviser to Obama. Tom Donolin is the hack Pat Caddell accused of being the leaker during the WH leak scandal of 2012 – leaks that were designed to make Obama look strong and decisive after OBL was killed, but hurt national security and put the Navy Seals in danger.
“Tom Donilon is a political hack. He was a political operative. He was the delegate counter for Carter and then Mondale. And he is now running around — he was also the guy working with Jim Johnson, corrupting Fannie Mae. And somehow, he is National Security adviser and he is known in Washington as the leaker in chief.”
He is an influential Democratic Party insider. Earlier in his career, he was a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Byron White during the Court’s 1987 and 1988 Terms and worked on Capitol Hill, where he was Chief Counsel to the Senate Judiciary Committee during the Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination. He was portrayed by Kevin Spacey in the HBO film Recount depicting the tumult of the 2000 presidential election.
A reader has just confirmed that a user can save a data set and give it any name they wish — meaning that the “3 meet with Potus” language may have been generated by a user and cannot be considered authoritative. The data is accurate: Obama’s debate prep guy Ron Klain and two other debate prep people visited to conduct “debate prep.” But it can’t be ruled out that the “debate prep” was for Biden.
A reader links to this interesting post which shows the President and Biden together, out of the decision-making loop, taking calls from Netanyahu and such, from 6:30 to almost 7:30 p.m.
We still don’t know where Obama was after that. All we know is: he was not in the Situation Room.
