Fox News reporter James Rosen was on Hugh Hewitt’s radio show Wednesday talking about intel sources “in and out of government” and “in and out of military” who tell him they are concerned Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl may have been an enemy collaborator.
“There is a major classified file associated with Sgt. Bergdahl that has been compiled by the intelligence community,” Rosen said. “Many in that community harbor ongoing, outstanding, and serious concerns that Sgt. Bergdahl may not have been just a deserter, but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.”
Rosen went on to say that said his sources have “further allegations” against Sgt. Bergdahl. “I am speaking with a number of people […] in the national security apparatus who are detailing further allegations to me, which I am trying to run to ground.”
He also made note of 2010 reports claiming Bergdahl was teaching the Taliban “ambush skills and [how to construct] bomb making devices.”
The idea the White House hadn’t seen the classified information about Bergdahl strains credulity. Who was the classified information for – if not the people who were working on his release?
Col. Ralph Peters was on Megyn Kelly Tuesday night expressing his complete disbelief and disgust with the State Dept for doubting Bergdahl’s platoon mates’ word on what happened.
“Megyn, what we just heard, was Benghazi 2.0. – a political flunky in the State Dept. insisting that she knows better about what happened on the ground than the soldiers on the front line or the people in a firefight. The arrogance is boundless! And if the Obama administration can’t have the grace to be decent about anything else, at least stop insulting our troops,” Peters fumed.
“She called those soldiers from the front lines, liars! and by the way, SHE’S THE LIAR! I can tell you from the first days – from the first hours – the military knew exactly what his status was. And I have never heard of or seen any report that conflicts with the allegation that he was a deserter.”
He continued, “this is an example of a very deep cultural divide between team Obama that knows nothing about the military and cares less and those who actually serve. And when you listen to Susan Rice and Obama – they think that desertion is like skipping class…”
“It is the second gravest sin in the military catechism – right behind turning your weapon on your brother soldiers, Peters explained. I cannot begin to communicate how deeply the military feels about deserters.”
He reminded people of how the US military used to treat deserters.
“I am SICK! of hearing people – even on Fox – instant experts who never served in the military – saying, well we always went after our troops even if they’re deserters. Megyn, throughout much of our history, we did go after deserters, and when we got them, we shot them or hanged them, and if we were in a good mood, we would brand them with a “D” on their cheeks or forehead. When we became enlightened in the 20th century, we still shot some, we always sent them to prison or hard labor. So this is not a minor offense – desertion is very, very grave, and team Obama JUST DOESN”T GET IT!”
