One Peter: What Did the Saints Say about Islam?
Great stuff. For instance…
“As we have seen, Muhammed had neither supernatural miracles nor natural motives of reason to persuade those of his sect. As he lacked in everything, he took to bestial and barbaric means, which is the force of arms. Thus he introduced and promulgated his message with robberies, murders, and bloodshedding, destroying those who did not want to receive it, and with the same means his ministers conserve this today, until God placates his anger and destroys this pestilence from the earth.
[…]
(Muhammad) can also be figured for the dragon in the same Apocalypse which says that the dragon swept up a third of the stars and hurled down a third to earth. Although this line is more appropriately understood concerning the Antichrist, Mohammed was his precursor – the prophet of Satan, father of the sons of haughtiness.
[…]
Even if all the things contained in his law were fables in philosophy and errors in theology, even for those who do not possess the light of reason, the very manners (Islam) teaches are from a school of vicious bestialities. (Muhammad) did not prove his new sect with any motive, having neither supernatural miracles nor natural reasons, but solely the force of arms, violence, fictions, lies, and carnal license. It remains an impious, blasphemous, vicious cult, an innovention of the devil, and the direct way into the fires of hell. It does not even merit the name of being called a religion.”

The incident occurred at Thursday night’s Knicks game at Madison Square Garden, according to eyewitness Hugo Davies, a British student in New York City who captured video.

Remember a few years back when Pope Benedict stirred up a controversy when he quoted scripture about the Prophet Mo? Of course, he was exactly right in what he was saying, but that didn’t stop the critics in denouncing what he said.
ND, any thoughts and opinions about what Bill Donohue of the Catholic League said about the Paris incident? It might be interesting in doing a separate post and get some feed back, since several bloggers here are Christians and some are Catholic. Donohue has appeared all over the place defending his stance. He originally made it on Cavuto during the week. Since then he has been on Hannity, Maltzberg and on the Cost of Freedom with Cavuto and again this morning. I’ve been surprised by the reaction of what he said, especially from some people.

I understand the point he’s trying to make – but he’s wrong for blaming the victim.

That was my original take on it, but then I went back and listened to the Cavuto piece again. I believe what he was trying to say {and in later interviews said better} that people need to accept some personal responsibility for what they do and say. It’s already been established and accepted that you can’t yell fire in a crowded movie theater.
If you poke a hornets nest enough times, sooner or later your going to get a reaction and get stung. Understanding a Freedom of Speech issue, he was saying that they were “intentionally provoking a incident” and should’ve used some self control. Donohue specifically denounced any kind of gubermint censorship, just some self control.
The difference between us and them is, we do practice self control when it’s done against Christians and RC’s. Since they are still stuck in the 5 or 6 century they are incapable of doing it. I don’t recall any fatwahs issued for the Virgin Mary and dung display or for the piss Christ. But as usual it is always open season for Christians where nobody opens their mouth in opposition. Just look at the ongoing genocide in the middle east. . . . hardly a word about it.
I thought it was hilarious that Megyn Kelly brought up the Supreme Court decision in the Larry Flynt case. he poked around enough and got stung, today and for years he’s been a motorized second base. He certainly had the right to say what he did and the Supreme’s confirmed it. Hope it’s a consolation to him now.
As usual with the left, they love to cloak themselves in individual rights and freedoms when it’s them cashing in on it. Not so much when the other side of the aisle attempts to do it.
I think I fall more on the Donohue side on this one.

That video is entitled “Megyn Kelly SPANKS Bill Donahue” but I really thought it was a wash. His last point was as good one, too. Agree with Donahue or not, he is at least consistent – he doesn’t like people abusing free speech when it targets his faith, or anyone elses. The left, of course, is totally, cravenly hypocritical on this.

i understand that Hewitt and Donohue had a knock down, drag out on the issue.
