State Dept Hosts Delegation of Muslim Brotherhood Leaders Trying To Oust Egyptian Pres al Sisi

A week after his New Years Day declaration that Islam must be reformed, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in a historic gesture of goodwill, attended the Coptic Christmas Eve Mass in Cairo as it was being celebrated by the Egyptian Pope Tawadros II.

Further emphasizing his recent declaration that Islam must reform itself, Sisi shortened his visit to Kuwait to be able to come and congratulate the Coptic community. He went straight from the airport to Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox Cathedral, arrived as service had just begun, and apologized for interrupting the mass. The ceremony was live streamed on Egyptian State TV, and showed him being greeted by a jubilant congregation.

His presence was greatly appreciated, especially in light of the recent persecution of Copts at the hands of radical Muslims. As an outgrowth of the unfortunately named “Arab Spring”, Churches and Christian sites have come under attack since the revolution that ousted Mubarak in 2011. Even after Morsi was deposed in July 2013, a wave of violence spread across Egypt, in particular when the dispersal of two pro-Morsi protest camps was followed by the torching of dozens of churches and attacks on Christian property.

El-Sisi led the massive popular mobilization against the ruling Muslim Brotherhood on 30 June 2013. After winning a landslide victory in the subsequent presidential elections, he positioned himself as the uniter of the Egyptian people across religious divides. With his recent statement in favor of a renewed vision of Islam, made on 1 January 2015 before an important Al-Azhar gathering of Islamic clerics and ulema and in the presence of the Minister of Awqaf (Religious Endowments), Sisi has taken the lead on one of the most divisive and sensitive issues facing the world today.

In direct opposition to the radicalism now terrorizing nations across the globe, Sisi told the assembled congregation: “Egypt has brought humanism and civilization to the world for millennia and we are all here today to confirm that we are capable of doing so again… Allah willing, we shall build our nation together, accommodate each other, make room for each other, and we shall like each other…love each other…in earnest, so that people may see….” He asserted that Egyptians were one people and had to think of themselves not as Christians or Muslims, but “as Egyptians, just Egyptians.”

His address was often interrupted by frantic applause, clapping, and cheers of “We love you!” and “hand in hand.”

It cannot be overstated how positive and welcome this development is in the war against Islamic terror.

For some reason – God knows why – the Obama Regime is doing what it can to undermine it.

The State Department hosted a delegation of Muslim Brotherhood-aligned leaders this week for a meeting about their ongoing efforts to oppose the current government of President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi of Egypt, who rose to power following the overthrow of Mohamed Morsi, an ally of the Brotherhood, in 2013.

One member of the delegation, a Brotherhood-aligned judge in Egypt, posed for a picture while at Foggy Bottom in which he held up the Islamic group’s notorious four-finger Rabia symbol, according to his Facebook page.

That delegation member, Waleed Sharaby, is a secretary-general of the Egyptian Revolutionary Council and a spokesman for Judges for Egypt, a group reported to have close ties to the Brotherhood.

The delegation also includes Gamal Heshmat, a leading member of the Brotherhood, and Abdel Mawgoud al-Dardery, a Brotherhood member who served as a parliamentarian from Luxor.

Sharaby, the Brotherhood-aligned judge, flashed the Islamist group’s popular symbol in his picture at the State Department and wrote in a caption: “Now in the U.S. State Department. Your steadfastness impresses everyone,” according to an independent translation of the Arabic.

One member of the ‘anti-coup’ delegation said the talks at the State Dept. were “fruitful.”

A State Dept flack told the WFB, “We meet with representatives from across the political spectrum in Egypt.”

Um. Why? In Egypt they’re throwing Muslim Brotherhood terrorists in jail. Why would the Regime be meeting with Muslim Brotherhood- aligned anything?

Samuel Tadros, an Egypt expert and research fellow at the Hudson Institute who is familiar with the delegation, said that the visit is meant to rally support for the Muslim Brotherhood’s ongoing efforts against to oppose Sisi.

Keep reading at WFB if your stomach can take it.

Video: Lt. Col Shaffer Doubles Down on Claim That Bergdahl Will Be Charged With Desertion

The Pentagon has denied  that Bowe Bergdahl has been charged with desertion in the wake of  claims made by Lt. Col. Tony Shaffer on Monday’s edition of the O’Reilly Factor.

Tuesday morning, the Pentagon “vigorously denied”  the assertion, telling reporters, “the top commander reviewing the case has made no decisions.”

Tuesday evening on the O’Reilly Factor, Shaffer was on again, doubling down on the assertion that (as O’Reilly put it); “the investigation has concluded, he did desert his unit in Afghanistan, and his civilian lawyer has been informed of such.”

“I stand by all of those facts,” Shaffer replied. “Plus Bill, if you look at Adm. Kirby said in the written statements from the Pentagon, they don’t deny the material findings of the report – or what I said was in the report. They’re being very careful about how they parse their words and I think there’s reasons why.”

“A decision was made,” he insisted.

He went on to make the point that the Pentagon has stated that there is “no time limit” on when a decision will be made, meaning “they are going to try to drag this out.”

Pentagon Press Stooge John Kirby went on Fox and Friends, Wednesday morning to deny that charges have been brought to Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl.

Via Gateway Pundit:

Rear Admiral John Kirby told  FOX and Friends today that any delay in charges against Bowe Bergdahl were not politically motivated.

Rear Admiral John Kirby: I don’t know how he (Bergdahl) has been given charges when he hasn’t been charged with a crime yet. There have been no charges filed against Sgt. Bergdahl. Nor would we ever, before charges were filed against a service member, give him a heads up, “Hey, here’s what’s coming.” That’s just not the way the process works. We’re just not there yet.

Brian Kilmeade: Why would it take ten months to put together something we were able to ascertain in three interviews?

Rear Admiral John Kirby: Well, first of all, I don’t know who you’re talking to on your sources(?) So who anonymously is passing information to you…

Brian Kilmeade:People who served with him. On camera…

Rear Admiral John Kirby: So an investigation was done after we had a chance to talk with Sgt. Bergdahl. This is a very thorough confidential investigation… I can tell you right now. I am absolutely certain, General Milley has made no decisions about what he’s going to do with this case… General Milley has complete freedom to take his time with this. He’s under no pressure whatsoever.

Steve Doocy: …The Pentagon says in the public interest, people are interested in this and you should act transparently. So how about a timeline on how the Pentagon is going to proceed with this?

Rear Admiral John Kirby: Well, we want to be careful we don’t put deadlines on General Milley.

Steve Doocy:All the facts are in. The technical. The operational. The legal facts are all in. There’s no reason the general can’t make his decision now.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck:You put deadlines on war?

Rear Admiral John Kirby: First of all, this is a big investigation. General Milley wasn’t in Afghanistan, at the FOB, Forward Operating Base, where Bergdahl left so, he has to avail himself to all the information. He hasn’t gotten completely through this investigation himself.

Uh-huh. Something tells me it’s going to take approximately two more years for General Milley to make a decision. Clearly, Obama expects to “run out the clock” on this scandal as he has on so many others.

History will not be kind to Generals and Rear Admirals who went along with this Regime’s destructive and abhorrent schemes.

General Keene: Al Qaeda In Iraq Intercept in 2008 Said, “This War Is Over – We Have Lost”

During his testimony Tuesday before the Senate Arms Services Committee, General Keene said that al Qaeda had quadruped in number under Obama after being defeated in Iraq under Bush..

On the Kelly File, Tuesday night he explained that Islam is spreading at a rapid rate across the Middle East because the Obama administration has “refused to name, identify and be real about the enemy we face.” Time and time again the administration has failed to take action when it could have helped.

In Iraq, Obama managed to snatch defeat out out the jaws of victory. Thanks to the 2007/2008 troop surge, al Qaeda in Iraq (the precursor to ISIS), had given up.

Keene spoke of intercepts of emails from the demoralized jihadists in Iraq to Central al Qaeda in Pakistan in late 2008 that said, “Don’t send any more brothers. This war is over. We have lost.”

“And they said it multiple times in different phrases over 3 or 4 message intercepts that we had, Keene continued. “They had admitted that defeat. They were done.”

(This after Senate Majority Leader Dingy Harry, in his rush to score political points against President Bush in April of 2007, undermined the surge and demoralized American troops by surrendering to al Qaeda on behalf of the United States: “This war is lost and the surge is not accomplishing anything,” the titular head of the Democrat party said as the surge was just getting underway.)

“We pulled the troops out totally in 2011, and a week after the last troops left….the first bombs started to go off in downtown Baghdad,” Keene said.

He continued, “in Libya, we deposed Gadaffi, we had a moderate regime that took over that was friendly to the United States. They wanted one thing from us. ‘Help us produce an effective security force so we can deal with the armed militants. WE REFUSED. As a result of that, they tried to kill a UK Ambassador, they did kill our Ambassador, they burned our consulate to the ground, and killed three others and now they (the radical Islamists)  are dominating Libya in its entirety. We REFUSED to assist them. Imagine that!” Keene exclaimed.

(And the disturbing pattern continues: Tuesday, the Jerusalem Post reported that Obama REFUSED to allow “the resale of US-made military helicopters by Israel to the Nigerian government for its fight against Boko Haram last summer.”)

It seems like the Obama Regime always errs on the side of the militant Islamists, doesn’t it?

Keene continued, “we did the same thing with the Free Syrian Army. When the moderate rebels were in the streets demonstrating against Assad like people were doing in Egypt, Assad came done heavy on them, but the rebels had so many – they gained the momentum.” I think you know the rest of the story. Obama didn’t decide to arm the rebels until they had become overrun with radical Islamists. Then a rat line of weapons flowed from Benghazi, through Turkey and into Syria and eventually into the hands of the Islamic State.

I may have mentioned this before, but – Congress really needs to think about impeaching Obama before he does any more damage.
