As Peter Wehner notes in Commentary, The Democrat Party has essentially become the party of the Far Left.

Hillary Rodham Clinton is running on positions that would have been considered art of the Leftist fringe only an election or two ago, and she has little choice even if she wanted to ‘triangulate’ because of how far the Democrat’s mainstream has moved.

Her competition – former Maryland Governor Martin O’ Malley and avowed socialist Senator Bernie Sanders are running to her left, as are well as Democrat heroes (and non-candidates so far) Elizabeth Warren and New York Mayor Bill de Blasio.

The reception they’re receiving in Democrat strongholds is an indication of exactly how far Left the party is now aligned. And the primaries seem to be headed for a hard sprint in that direction to win over that constituency.

Video: Boston terror suspects reportedly plotted to behead police officers

The man who was shot by anti-terrorism officers in Boston, yesterday, and the suspect now in custody, were ISIS inspired jihadists who had planned to behead a police officer, law enforcement officials say.

Via The Boston Globe:

“We believe the intent was to behead a police officer,” one official said Wednesday morning. “We knew the plot had to be stopped. They were planning to take action Tuesday.”

The other official said Boston police and the FBI and the Joint Terrorism Task Force were aware of the plot because of intelligence that had been gathered, and the suspects had been under surveillance for several weeks.

…in a disturbing sign of how the anti-police movement and increasingly assertive Islamists may be building a combined power base, the latter are attempting to stir inner-city community anger over Rahim’s shooting, exploiting recent events in Baltimore, New York and Ferguson.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) will monitor the investigation. As WBZ reports, law enforcement will even supply local Muslim leaders with the evidence they gather:

Investigators say they are planning to share their video evidence with the Islamic Society of Boston, local clergy and civil rights advocates Wednesday in a private meeting.

The Council of American-Islamic Relations will monitor the investigation, spokesman Ibrahim Hooper said.

“We have a number of questions,” Hooper said. “Why exactly was he being followed? What was the probable cause for this particular stop? Were there any video cameras or body cameras of the incident? How do you reconcile the two versions of the story, the family version being that he was on his normal commute to work at a bus stop?”
