Bizarre New Super PAC Ad Has Kasich Winning the Nomination at Convention

I wrote a post at PJ Media not too long ago about Kashich’s – uh – unseemly evolution from thinking the idea of a brokered/contested convention was “cockamamie” only a couple of months ago – to where he is these days – bringing it up in interviews as something that will be really fun – a really “cool” civics lesson for the kiddies.

Now a pro- Kasich Super PAC is openly fantasizing about the Ohio governor winning the nomination at a contested convention with a new ad that is being called, “weird”, “weak” and “kinda sad.”

It’s all those things with an emphasis on SAD:

In case you didn’t know, the Kasich campaign was scoffing at the idea of a brokered convention back in February:

During a conference call with reporters, the Ohio governor’s senior strategist John Weaver called the idea “cockamamie” and dismissed a New York Times story describing Kasich advisers quietly seeking support for the strategy. Instead, Weaver described a path — one that many establishment Republicans have in turn described as cockamamie — to hang on by a thread through unfriendly Super Tuesday contests and out-wait other faltering rivals to wind up in a head-to-head race with Trump.

Then, he said, Kasich could win the nomination on the convention’s first ballot.

Kasich failed to win a single state in the Super Tuesday contests on March 1, and only managed to secure 21 of the 595 delegates.

The next day on the Hugh Hewitt Show, Kasich suggested that he hadn’t given much thought to the prospect of a brokered convention and pretended he had barely even heard of such a thing: “I don’t know what they call it — some call it brokered — there’s other names for the convention,” Kasich said haltingly. “Is that a possibility? Anything’s a possibility in this year. But I don’t really anticipate that happening,” he said, still insistent that he was the guy who would secure the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination (even though it was mathematically impossible at that point.)

Now, we’ve gotten to the point where not only do they “anticipate that happening,” they actually anticipate that the perennial also-ran will come out on top.

Maybe that’s why Kasich is already vetting V.P. candidates.

Just when you think his campaign can not get any more delusional….it gets even more delusional.

  1. Somebody, somewhere in that PAC and in his campaign is doing some serious drugs, for a while now. They are delusional.

I’ve thought all along that he is trying to position himself for the “Postmaster General” jobs in a republican administration, so he can follow in daddy’s footsteps {literally}.

Then again there is this. . . .

    (Hey they’ve been right before!)

  9. I don’t pay ANY attention to the National Enquirer, but if that cover is real it’s a real dandelion from the Donald or his troops. I wouldn’t put it past the Trumper at all, but (being the intellectually uninformed National Enquirer non-reader I am) suspect Geo or someone did a bang-up phoyoshop job with that.

I’m not a Cruzer, either, but will vote for him here in OR (by mail, of course – what could a socialist elections official POSSIBLY do to rig such an election?) because I believe Trump is just short of as dangerous as Hillarious and Kasich will only slow the rush to National Socialism (for those of you unimformed, National Socialism was shortened to NAZI in 1920’s/1930’s Germany) a little more than The Donald, who would drive us to National Socialism just a little slower than the Hildebeast. The Bern, for all his incredibly stupid academic ignorance, is at least up front about wanting poor working slobs to pay for both the rich and the poors’ every wish.

I guess this year is, with all its electioneering insanity, just one more year of We, the People, getting screwed by those who know better than we what we both need and want…

  17. Carlos, I’d love to take credit for that cover but can’t, all the credit belongs to someone over on The Peoples Cube. That’s where I lifted it from and should’ve given the credit too.

I’m still clinging to the Cruz wagon, but come Tuesday if he doesn’t pull off a win in Indiana I got my fork ready to stick in him. Then I’ll apply for my Trumpster membership card and decoder ring. Kasich is a lost cause and if the “establishment” dares to try and parachute someone else into picture you can start writing their epitaph. Not only for this election cycle, but for decades to come.

They {the establishment} can’t continue to piss on owr legs and tell us it’s only raining. They will pay a price. For years they’ve been telling us to hold our collective noses and vote the “party”, it’s high time they follow their own advice. . . . .starting now.
