Trump’s VP Pick — A Prediction

Via Reeko, who is pretty sure he knows who it’s going to be:

Mike Pence brings nothing to the Trump ticket. Virtually nobody outside of Indiana knows who he is. From all accounts he is a wonderful Governor and might’ve made in other circumstances, a wonderful dream ticket. but not 2016. Donald Trump already won the Indiana primary, so in business terms, Mike Pence doesn’t bring anything to the Art Of The Deal.

The rest of the field of VP candidates, that are being so-called “vetted” are not in my opinion, actually being vetted for VP. Maybe cabinet positions, but not VP. Trump knows what he has to do, and just like when he released his short-list of SCOTUS nominees, with some heavy-hitters on it, he received immediate cheers from conservatives and TEA Party types all over. Bravo! But remember how Trump did that. He is doing the same thing for building his future cabinet. AND most importantly, he already has told us who he wants…

Now as to Cruz’s hurt feelings and hesitance. that is natural, and again, IMO, Trump is trying to show Cruz that he is a very serious and conservative-oriented about his choices. (the term “conservative” may need to be refined in this new age of Trump – but that can be discussed later at more length)  here is the kicker though, and this is very, very important: Texas is in play this November. most people I tell that to are stunned and even ridicule me for it, but here are the facts…

Texas is currently listed even by RCP as only slightly pink, leaning Trump. but what the RCP averages don’t take into consideration is the real politics of the Texas electorate. although a slightly healthy divide between Dems and Republicans, those GOPers are divided into roughly three evenly distributed groups: 1 – pro-Cruz; 2 – middle road pro-Trump; and 3 – the Never-Trumpers. that last group is – again IMO – by far one of the most influential in the entire country. And they are extremely diehard anti-Trumpists. They will either not vote, vote Hillary, vote Gary Johnson, or even write in Obama (again!) and no, I’m not joking. without Cruz or even Perry as his VP, Trump can forget about taking Texas in November. yes, it is that serious.

And most importantly, Cruz knows it. right now, he is in what we call the Catbird’s Seat. In fact, he knows he marshals a very large contingent of not only supporters, but delegates for the convention. Cruz also knows that the GOPe Never-Trumpers will never, never, never allow him to finagle, schmooze, cajole, or outright steal the nomination away from Trump. and that is even if Cruz were so disposed to do so. I don’t think he is. I think he is an upright, honest, and forthright kind of guy. But his supporters and delegates are another story altogether….

And before anybody gets their knickers in a wad, yes, I did vote for Cruz in the primary. why? Because I called the primary results well over a year ago: Trump with a massive delegate count followed by ONLY one second place finishing strong – Ted Cruz. I voted for Cruz with that intent, to put him in a strong second place finish. Turns out that I was absolutely exact on that result.

The only guessing I can’t figure right now is, when is Trump going to announce? Actually, I think it already has been worked out between either Cruz or Perry and the Trump people. but the timing is everything, and I can’t figure out if it will be this week before the convention or immediately before or even during? Usually, I can also call the time of the VP announcement, but i can’t see it this time. It basically is up to Cruz to give the go ahead nod. And Cruz may be holding out hopes that there is some kind of delegate revolt or upset like the court case in Virginia that seems to be going ahead in favor of the Cruz delegate. It may be that Cruz is trying to eyeball what he thinks his delegates can scam or pull off. And yes, present company excepted of course *(would never accuse you of anything devious at all!) but Cruz operatives are some of the most extreme I’ve ever encountered. They literally will try anything to win. Of course, they think they are doing it for “the country” but i seriously doubt that.

A Trump-Cruz 2016 ticket would be a guaranteed blow-out in November of at least 45 states. (although i still say about 47)  and u know what else?

The Democrats know it.

The media know it.

Trump knows it.

Cruz knows it.

Even the Bernouts know it, and yes a good percentage of them will vote for a Trump-Cruz ticket.

The only people who are living in complete denial and an alternate reality are the Never-Trumpers. so they leave the GOP like George Will? good riddance. buh bye!

This election will be about the Mike Rowe’s of the country – not about the Mitt Romneys.

This election will be between the Robertsons of Duck Dynasty and Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashians.

The choices this election will determine if we as a country go with VHS or Betamax – and we already know how that turned out.

I will leave you with a morsel for those Cruzers who are whining that they will go all Libertarian-retard and vote Gary Johnson. Here is a paraphrased quote from one of the Libertarian demi-gods, Ludwig Von Mises who said:

“If you offer a man a cup of milk or a cup of cyanide, you are not offering him a choice of beverages. You are offering him a choice between life and death.”  KA – BOOM!

*No Cruz operatives here, (not that he isn’t vastly more qualified than the presumptive nominee.) It’s just hard to fathom how Trump could possibly justify to the electorate a choice for VP, a guy he spent six months slurring as “Lyin’ Ted.” Not to mention the absurd conspiracy theory about his dad being involved with the Kennedy assassination. I don’t know how Trump pulls that off. I don’t know how Cruz swallows his pride and goes along with it. 

That said, following a meeting with Trump, Cruz did tell reporters he has agreed to speak at the RNC in a show of “unity.”

Meanwhile….Never Trump Movement Gears Up For Final Play To Stop Trump At Convention:

CLEVELAND, Ohio—Republican National Committee delegates determined to stop Donald Trump at the GOP Convention next week are in the final planning stages of their mission.

Several groups are fine-tuning various convention floor strategies that would allow delegates to vote their conscience on the first round of balloting, rather than being required to vote for the candidate who won their state contest.

Composed of various alliances who talk to one another on conference calls, email lists and text messages virtually every day, groups like Save Our Party, Delegates Unbound and Free the Delegates find themselves in the final home stretch this week as key RNC delegate committee meetings (platform, rules, credentials) convene before the GOP picks its nominee at the convention.

I’m not saying I’m for it or agin it. Trump did win fair and square and has a large and enthusiastic following. On the other hand — he’s a terrible candidate and a nincompoop who is not getting better at campaigning as time goes on. 

I honestly don’t think he’s going to pick up many Bernie supporters. The good news is, millennials are appalled by Hillary. The bad news is, (most) millennials are even more appalled by Trump.  

A solid conservative Republican candidate would be roundly beating damaged-goods Hillary in the polls right now — not trailing like Trump is. 

I predicted a year ago that Hillary wouldn’t make it to the finish line. EmailGate was THAT serious and the MSM wasn’t in the mood to give her a pass. By all rights she should be toast, right now. Her corruption has been exposed for all to see, and yet she hobbles on. The only reason she still viable is because the GOP’s candidate is profoundly awful, too.

What a fine mess we’re in.

Bizarre New Super PAC Ad Has Kasich Winning the Nomination at Convention

I wrote a post at PJ Media not too long ago about Kashich’s – uh – unseemly evolution from thinking the idea of a brokered/contested convention was “cockamamie” only a couple of months ago – to where he is these days – bringing it up in interviews as something that will be really fun – a really “cool” civics lesson for the kiddies.

Now a pro- Kasich Super PAC is openly fantasizing about the Ohio governor winning the nomination at a contested convention with a new ad that is being called, “weird”, “weak” and “kinda sad.”

It’s all those things with an emphasis on SAD:

In case you didn’t know, the Kasich campaign was scoffing at the idea of a brokered convention back in February:

During a conference call with reporters, the Ohio governor’s senior strategist John Weaver called the idea “cockamamie” and dismissed a New York Times story describing Kasich advisers quietly seeking support for the strategy. Instead, Weaver described a path — one that many establishment Republicans have in turn described as cockamamie — to hang on by a thread through unfriendly Super Tuesday contests and out-wait other faltering rivals to wind up in a head-to-head race with Trump.

Then, he said, Kasich could win the nomination on the convention’s first ballot.

Kasich failed to win a single state in the Super Tuesday contests on March 1, and only managed to secure 21 of the 595 delegates.

The next day on the Hugh Hewitt Show, Kasich suggested that he hadn’t given much thought to the prospect of a brokered convention and pretended he had barely even heard of such a thing: “I don’t know what they call it — some call it brokered — there’s other names for the convention,” Kasich said haltingly. “Is that a possibility? Anything’s a possibility in this year. But I don’t really anticipate that happening,” he said, still insistent that he was the guy who would secure the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination (even though it was mathematically impossible at that point.)

Now, we’ve gotten to the point where not only do they “anticipate that happening,” they actually anticipate that the perennial also-ran will come out on top.

Maybe that’s why Kasich is already vetting V.P. candidates.

Just when you think his campaign can not get any more delusional….it gets even more delusional.

 

Ducks, Trump, Cruz, and Beaver Dams

Duck Commanders Willie and Phil Robertson have each endorsed one of the two GOP front-runners for President. Willie supports Trump and patriarch Phil has chosen Cruz. This is as delicious a political gumbo that I could ever think of tasting. This father and son team epitomizes the friendly and close political nature of our current two front-runners. Never any need for rancor – we are all in the same family, politically, and the future of our country is in the balance. Only one of the candidates will win, and most likely will win it all. Cruz himself just said that. No, really. He just said that if Trump wins Iowa, he will probably win it all. No kidding.

Willie and Phil understand that very well. Since they were forced to give up on their local favorite, Governor Bobby Jindal, both of the Duck Commanders know that there aren’t any better choices for President than either Trump or Cruz. We should all be that confident. They both are profoundly excellent choices, and both Robertsons give amazingly accurate reasons for their prospective choice. It does warm the heart, eh?

A persistent meme of mine that I’ve used since Trump entered the race, has been that of a recurring theme used since Episode One of the A&E hit show “Duck Dynasty” and continued through all the seasons including now. That meme is: blowing up beaver dams. For those not familiar with DD, the Robertsons are avid duck hunters and in fact have built their multi-million dollar empire on duck calls and other paraphernalia. They even have vast amounts of hunting land in lower Arkansas and Northern Louisiana which Phil simply calls “The Land” when telling whenever he is going out in it. On their “Land” the Robertsons and their Duckmen have a never-ending battle with beavers. To put it mildly, they HATE beavers. The invading rodents destroy waterways, trees, vegetation, and dam-up the natural flow of water which is so critical to duck flyways and habitat. The solution to beaver dams is, of course, the judicial use of dynamite. Lots of dynamite. Sometimes, just to practice blowing beaver dams up, they blow up other things as well. Like old trucks. Barns. Logjams, even if they just happen to not be a beaver’s fault. It is highly entertaining.

Sometimes, when the “natural flow” of our nation’s politics has become so dammed up as to not be able to tell the Republican Elites from the Democrats or the Socialists, then maybe its time for some judicial use of political dynamite. Trump OR Cruz could light that fuse. I’ll vote for that. Ka-boom! 😉

Sessions: Congress Should Block Funds For Illegal Amnesty Facility (Video)

On Fox News’ America’s Newsroom, Senator Jeff Sessions joined Shannon Bream to discuss the Constitutional crisis thrust upon the American people known as Obama’s Amnesty Edict. Sessions still holds out hope that Congress put language in the Omnibus spending bill that will block executive amnesty.

“The president has exceeded the laws of the US dramatically,” Sessions began. “He’s basically nullified existing immigration policy in American and enacted a new policy of immigration that congress has explicitly, repeatedly has rejected.”

He continued, “it’s a rejected policy that he is carrying out, and it’s illegal, unconstitutional as he’s admitted himself on a number of occasions.”

Sessions advocated removing funding from the House omnibus spending bill that would fund Obama’s executive amnesty program.

“What we do know [about the House omnibus] is that it will allow the President to move money around to fund his executive amnesty program. We just discovered last week that [DHS] is renting a building across the river in Crystal City, hiring 1,000 people to process these identifications of illegal people.  They will be given a photo ID, a Social Security number, allowed to participate in Social Security and Medicare, and be able to work anywhere in America, taking any job in America. We don’t have enough jobs today and this will be 5 million people. What I was hoping, and still hope, is that the House will put real language in the bill [to block executive amnesty.]”

They began the segment by discussing Obama’s latest executive offense – his release of six more Gitmo prisoners.

Dr. Ben Carson Throws His Hat Into The Ring For 2016 (Video)

Who doesn’t love Dr. Ben Carson?

The first Republican to officially announce his candidacy is Dr. Ben Carson, famous pediatric neurosurgeon and author of NY Times bestseller “One Nation.”

Carson became a household name in conservative circles after he was invited to the National Prayer Breakfast in 2013. Carson chose to speak his mind on health care and political correctness to President Barack Obama, stunning the audience.

John Philip Sousa, the great grandson of the famous composer, started a super PAC that has raised over $11 million to draft Dr. Carson to run.

It seems the Doctor has heard their call, and will air an almost 40-minute long video on ABC News introducing himself as a candidate to the American people.

 Senator Bob Corker didn’t have a comment about the Carson run, when asked. What a maroooon.

Vote R in the Midterms – Don’t Stay Home, Don’t Vote Independent or Libertarian

Everyone who wants to see Harry Reid dethroned in two weeks, raise your hand.

Republicans are expected to take the Senate, but the elections are far from decided. Some of the races are too close for comfort, because Democrats know how to “find” votes when they need them. The truth is, the conservative base needs to come out in massive numbers – no staying home and sulking because the establishment this or the establishment that. No “protest” ( throwaway) vote for a third party. The only way to save the country – or at least slow down its demise is to crush the Democrats in numbers.

An animated Ann Coulter came out of her “bat cave” to appear on Hannity, Tuesday,  to talk about why it’s so important for Conservatives to vote  R in two weeks. And I’m posting the video because I agree with her message 100%.

I know the Republican establishment can be somewhat *disappointing* at times, but don’t even think about voting third party, people. As Coulter notes, we need to have 53-54 seats to provide some padding for 2016, when we’re expected to lose a few. If ObamaCare is ever to be overturned, the Senate has to be in Republican hands when Obama leaves office.

But first, Sean wanted to talk about the nothingburger “has-been intern” Monica Lewinsky story, which Coulter impatiently pushed aside. “At one point I felt sorry for her, but this is getting to be like some aging celebrity’s farewell tour,” she quipped.

Also important – a new Citizens United documentary featuring Michelle Malkin reveals how far left, big moneyed interests poured into Colorado and turned it from red to blue. The same tactics are being used in Texas, and several other states, Malkin says, visibly  disgusted by the rank hypocrisy displayed by  the left as it rails against right leaning donors like the Koch Brothers.

Here’s a report CNN did on Alison Lundergan Grimes’ embarrassing family business. It’s apropos because she’s staked out positions on the minimum wage and feminism which Hugh Jass – the family business she has worked for – has a mortifyingly bad record on.

“My family is not in this race. I’m on the ballot. And as much as Mitch McConnell wants to attack my family, he has from the beginning, I’m going to stay focused on the issues. And for me, it’s about making sure that hard working Kentuckians have a bright future. And that future includes having not just a minimum wage, but a living wage.”

Faced with major electoral losses this year, the Democratic Party is pulling out all the stops. For them, that means descending, again, into racism. As Glenn Reynolds says:

The Democratic Party is trying to use the shooting of Michael Brown by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri to stimulate black turnout. There is zero reason to believe that the Brown incident had anything to do with race. Is there any evidence that Wilson, if attacked by a 6′ 4″, 292 pound white man, would not have shot him? No. Wilson may or may not have overreacted; we may never know for sure. But connecting the incident to race is sheer political opportunism by the Democrats.

A Republican party official in the largest county in Arizona says surveillance tape shows a progressive Hispanic activist blatantly and openly engaging in vote fraud.

The surveillance video below was recorded on Aug. 25 during this year’s primary election cycle at a central Maricopa County elections processing facility on the edge of downtown Phoenix.

A. J. LaFaro, Chairman of the Maricopa County Republican Committee obtained the video. He was watching the polls that day during the early-voting period voting for the Aug. 26 primary.

“The team processing the early ballots through the optical scanning equipment had gotten way ahead of the ‘upstream’ citizen boards preparing the early ballot batches for processing,” the Republican party official said, according to the Arizona Daily Independent.

While the information systems coordinator was on a long lunch break, he explained, he was “seated at one of the cubicles looking toward the reception area that is now behind bullet proof glass because of the violence and protesting that occurred by militant groups during the November 2012 general election.”

If Democrats win any seats in two weeks, it will be through using tactics like these.
