In what is being called a “stinging rebuke to President Barack Obama,” House Republicans and members of his own party ignored his veto threat Thursday and overwhelmingly approved GOP legislation putting a pause on the Syrian and Iraqi refugee program.
Forty-seven Democrats joined all but two Republicans as the House passed the measure by a veto-proof 289-137 margin, a major setback to the lame duck president on an issue — what to do about the Islamic State and the refugees fleeing them — that shows no signs of settling down. The vote exceeded the two-thirds majority required to override a veto, and came despite a rushed, early morning visit to the Capitol by top administration officials in a futile attempt to limit Democratic defections for the measure.
Apparently, more than a few Dems share the GOP’s unhinged fears of “widows and orphans.”
Prior to the vote, House Speaker Paul Ryan pointed out the problems with the refugee program.
“We don’t have data on the other end to verify the veracity of the refugees’ claims,” Ryan told reporters.
“When we know that ISIL is already telling us that they’re trying to infiltrate the refugee population, when we have indications that some of the Paris bombers – one at least – may have come through the refugee routes, don’t you think that common sense dictates that we should take a pause and get this right?”
As for Obama’s veto threat, Ryan said, “It baffles me. I just for the life of me don’t understand why his veto threat came as it did – especially given the fact that his own law enforcement’s top officials came to congress and testified that there are gaps in this refugee program.”
The Speaker added, “this should not be a partisan issue.”
Paul Ryan needs to understand that Obama is a community organizer who is bent on the destruction of the nation so no positions that he takes is ever with the country’s best interests in mind.
He has leading the country for seven years by pitting Americans against Americans – usually a small, unpopular but politically correct and trendy minority against the mainstream. It’s a tactic that has worked out well for him and that Hillary Clinton seems to be adopting.
Obama has a vulgar habit of inserting himself into stories that have helpful left-wing narratives and leaping to conclusions before all the facts are in.
He’s done this again and again throughout his presidency – latching on to every opportunity to pit blacks against whites, criminals vs the police, Muslims vs Christians, etc.
“The police acted stupidly.”
“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon.”
“The death of Michael Brown is heartbreaking…”
“We have some soul-searching to do. This is not new. It’s been going on for decades.” (On the death of Freddie Gray.)
“Cool clock, Ahmed. Want to bring it to the White House? We should inspire more kids like you to like science.”
Obama likes to jump right in there and comment authoritatively on racially charged cases before they’ve been investigated and litigated — when those cases are helpful to a left-wing social justice narrative. Cases that are unhelpful to his far-left agenda, are completely ignored.
The double standard is so obvious and egregious, even a twelve year old kid can’t help but notice:
“Cool clock, Ahmed,” Obama tweeted, inviting the little provocateur to the White House, in an obvious show of disapproval and disdain towards the school and local police. No doubt Obama thinks they “acted stupidly.”
Even most of the conservative media say the police overreacted.

I thought it looked like a PR stunt from the get-go, but unlike our freaking president, I tend to keep my mouth shut when I’m not sure about something.
Well, now I’m sure.
Clock-boy and his dad are hoaxters. The kid should have been arrested for bringing a crudely-made hoax bomb to school.
Police officers said the electronic components and wires inside his Vaultz pencil case (which is the size of a briefcase) looked like a “hoax bomb,” according to local news station WFAA.
When questioned about what the device was, Mohamed wouldn’t answer. Now terror-tied Islamic groups like the Hamas-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), their media lapdogs, and even Barack Obama are waging jihad against the school and the local police.
When police questioned the boy, WFAA reports, they said he was “passive aggressive” and didn’t give them a “reasonable answer” as to why he had brought his contraption to the school. “We attempted to question the juvenile about what it was and he would simply only say it was a clock. He didn’t offer any explanation as to what it was for, why he created this device, why he brought it to school,” said James McLellan of the Irving Police Department.
This whole thing smells like a setup.

When I first heard about this story, I wrote at my website that it smelled fishy. Now, as more details have emerged, it positively stinks. The plot has considerably thickened. In what has become one of the most egregious of the faked hate narratives, the bomb hoax clockster turns out to come from a family that has a history of supremacist stunts.
TheNew York Daily News reported this Wednesday about Ahmed Mohamed’s father, Mohamed ElHassan Mohamed:
One of the earliest instances of the standout citizen making national news was in 2011, when he sensationally stood up to an anti-Islamic pastor and defended the Koran as its defense attorney. That mock trial at a Florida church ended with the book’s burning, to ElHassan’s claimed shock. In an interview with the Washington Post at the time, the devoted Muslim said he’d take on Rev. Terry Jones’ challenge because the holy book teaches that Muslims should engage in peaceful dialogue with Christians.
Also in 2011, ElHassan debated Robert Spencer on the questionf of “Does Islam Respect Human Rights?” Clearly, he was trying to score a victory against a famous “Islamophobe” and thus win a name for himself. ElHassan has been looking for publicity and chances to fight against “Islamophobia” for a considerable period. Now he has seized it, going so far as to claim his son was “tortured” by school and law enforcement officials.
He kept the clock inside his school bag in English class, but the teacher complained when the alarm beeped in the middle of a lesson. Ahmed brought his invention up to show her afterward.
“She was like, it looks like a bomb,” he said.
“I told her, ‘It doesn’t look like a bomb to me.’”
The teacher kept the clock. When the principal and a police officer pulled Ahmed out of sixth period, he suspected he wouldn’t get it back.
They led Ahmed into a room where four other police officers waited. He said an officer he’d never seen before leaned back in his chair and remarked: “Yup. That’s who I thought it was.”
Ahmed says he didn’t know the officer – but I suspect the officer knew who he was through his notorious father.
Now we find out the stupid thing was thrown together (not “built,” not “created,” certainly not “invented”) — literally thrown together to look like a briefcase bomb.
It’s the guts of a 1970s-era alarm clock “invented” not by little Ahmed – but by Micronta, a Radio Shack subsidiary, Catalog number 63 756, and thrown into a pencil case that looks like a briefcase.
A guy who makes and works with clocks explained on Youtube why Ahmed’s “invention” is a fraud.
…Ahmed Mohamad did not invent, nor build a clock. He took apart an existing clock, and transplanted the guts into a pencil box, and claimed it was his own creation. It all seems really fishy to me.
If we accept the story about “inventing” an alarm clock is made up, as I think I’ve made a pretty good case for, it’s fair to wonder what other parts of the story might be made up, not reported factually by the media, or at least, exaggerated.
I refer back again to this YouTube video interview with Ahmed. He explains that he closed up the box with a piece of cord because he didn’t want it to look suspicious. I’m curious, why would “looking suspicious” have even crossed his mind before this whole event unfolded, if he was truly showing off a hobby project, something so innocuous as an alarm clock. Why did he choose a pencil box, one that looks like a miniature briefcase no less, as an enclosure for a clock? It’s awful hard to see the clock with the case closed. On the other hand, with the case open, it’s awful dangerous to have an exposed power transformer sitting near the snooze button (unless, perhaps his invention was to stop serial-snooze-button pressers by giving them a dangerous electrical shock!)
So again, I’m pointing all this out – about the specifics of the clock – not to pick on the poor kid. I’m picking on us, our culture, and our media.
Don’t forget the president. First and foremost, he deserves to be picked on for stupidly calling an obvious hoax “science” before all the facts were known.
On Justice with Jeanine Pirro, Saturday night, Milwaukee Sheriff David Clarke unloaded on the Black Lives Matter Movement, and the “high profile people” he says are leading the movement. Almost too angry to speak, he called the Black Lives Matter activists, “slime” and “filth” who should be eradicated from the towns they infest.
Deputy Darren Goforth, 47, had just left an accident scene last night when he stopped by a gas station on Telge and West Road. As he was pumping gas, a man approached him from behind, said nothing and fired multiple shots. Once the deputy fell to the ground, authorities say the suspect fired more shots. Deputy Goforth was pronounced dead on the scene
A witness told reporters she saw a woman sobbing over Deputy Goforth’s body: ”She was laying on top him. She was saying that was her best friend and that he had two kids.”
An intense manhunt covered Harris County for hours overnight. At about 2:30am, authorities converged on a home on Crystal Lake in Copperfield, led there by a tip. The focus of the investigation is on the red pickup truck in the home’s driveway. The person of interest was taken into custody at what’s said to be his mother’s house.
“Is it open open season on law enforcement in this country?” Pirro asked Sheriff David Clarke.
“Judge, I am too pissed off tonight to be diplomatic about what’s going on and I’m not going to stick my head in the sand on it. I said last December that war had been declared on the American police officer led by some high profile people – one coming out of the White House and one coming out the the United States Department of Justice.It’s open season right now – there’s no doubt about it.”
He continued, “Anytime a law enforcement officer is killed, a little of every police officer in America dies along with them.”
Pirro, referencing areas in the country where black activists have done a lot of rabble-rousing, asked Clarke if these cop shootings can happen anywhere in America, now.
“Anywhere in the United States,” the Sheriff answered. “And I’m tired of hearing people call these blacks, ‘activists.’ They’re not activists. This is black slime and it needs to be eradicated from American society and culture.”
Pirro asked what can be done.
“I need every law abiding person in the USA to stand up and start pushing back against this slime – this filth, ” Clarke seethed.
He said the American people need to push back when “these ugly people” come to their towns and “start talking about stuff on social media.” He said people need to “to push back against it and demand that the activists get out of their towns.
“The American police officer is holding these communities together and we need the support of the people that we defend every day in order to get that done.”
“God bless the Harris County Sheriff’s Office,” Clarke added. “And kudos to that District Attorney for acknowledging the War on Police, but I’m tired of qualifying all my statements by talking about bad apples in the policing profession.”
Clarke continued, “this was an assault on the American way of life – the American Justice System. If the American police officer backs off, we’re all in trouble.”
“The American police officer is strong and we will continue to fight back we will continue to sacrifice ourselves for the good, law-abiding people in every community in the United States,” the sheriff said.

Members of the #FYF911 or #FukYoFlag and #BlackLivesMatter movements called for the lynching and hanging of white people and cops. They encouraged others on a radio show Tuesday night to “turn the tide” and kill white people and cops to send a message about the killing of black people in America.
One of the F***YoFlag organizers is called “Sunshine.” She has a radio blog show hosted from Texas called, “Sunshine’s F***ing Opinion Radio Show.”
An unidentified black man said “when those mother f**kers are by themselves, that’s when when we should start f***ing them up. Like they do us, when a bunch of them ni**ers takin’ one of us out, that’s how we should roll up.” He said, “Cause we already roll up in gangs anyway. There should be six or seven black mother f**ckers, see that white person, and then lynch their ass. Let’s turn the tables.”
They conspired that if “cops started losing people,” then “there will be a state of emergency.”
He speculated that one of two things would happen, “a big-ass [R’s?????] war,” or “ni**ers, they are going to start backin’ up.”
“We are already getting killed out here so what the f**k we got to lose?”
Sunshine could be heard saying, “Yep, that’s true. That’s so f**king true.”
He said, “We need to turn the tables on them. Our kids are getting shot out here. Somebody needs to become a sacrifice on their side.
He said, “Everybody ain’t down for that s**t, or whatever, but like I say, everybody has a different position of war.” He continued, “Because they don’t give a f**k anyway.” He said again, “We might as well utilized them for that s**t and turn the tables on these n**ers.”
Extreme language warning:
Note that he encourages fellow blacks to kill “a mother f**ker that is alone” and “take a picture of it and then send it to the mother f**kers.”
We “just need one example,” and “then people will start watchin’.” This will turn the tables on s**t, he said. He said this will start “a trickle-down effect.” He said that when one white person is hung and then they are just “flat-hanging,” that will start the “trickle-down effect.” He continued, “Black people are good at starting trends.”
The next day, Roanoke happened. The first social media murder.
It’s been nearly a week since Nation of Islam Leader Louis Farrakhan called on his followers to rise up and kill their perceived enemies, and the silence of the Obama Justice Department has been deafening. Likewise, the MSM has been shamefully quiet, too — as if this is acceptable behavior for the leader of a 50,000-strong denomination. It most certainly isn’t.
“The Koran teaches persecution is worse than slaughter. Then it says, retaliation is prescribed in matters of the slain. Retaliation is a prescription from God to calm the breaths of those whose children have been slain,” Farrakhan said.
“So if the federal government will not intercede in our affairs, then we must rise up and kill those who kill us. Stalk them and kill them and let them feel the pain of death that we are feeling,” he added.
In case the message wasn’t clear enough, the hateful clip was posted on Farrakhan’s Facebook page Monday with the blunt hashtag “#JusticeOrElse.”

In 1969, the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that, to merit conviction, the violence advocated must be intended, likely and imminent.

State Department officials blocked investigations into potentially embarrassing allegations of misconduct from agency investigators and even inspector general staff during Hillary Clinton’s tenure as secretary of state.
A former official in the State Department inspector general’s office who was involved with preparing the sanitized report said agency officials also interfered in probes originating in the Office of the Inspector General.
The suggestions of political interference into investigations conducted at the bureau of diplomatic security first appeared in an inspector general report published in February 2013, just as Clinton was leaving the State Department. A Washington Examiner review of earlier drafts of that reportsuggested potentially damaging passages were removed from the final document. But the State Department official suggests the intervention went further.
The official, who requested anonymity, said the Bureau of Diplomatic Security initially prevented inspectors from reviewing open case files when they began their probe in late 2012.

Longtime readers of this blog should not be strangers to this story. I covered these allegations, and the State Dept’s retaliation against whistleblowers extensively in 2013. I’ve been wondering why it hasn’t been brought up until now.

The NY Post reported decorated NYPD Officer Brian Moore died Monday with his stricken family at his hospital bedside.
“It’s just a horrible day,’’ said a tearful female off-duty cop as she left a pot of red carnations and blue balloon at the 25-year-old officer’s home in Massapequa, LI.
A grim-faced Police Commissioner Bill Bratton was seen entering Jamaica Hospital as news of Moore’s death Monday afternoon surfaced, and around the same time, two cops also went in — one carrying a pair of shiny shoes and the other a police dress uniform.
Bratton later hailed Moore — who was shot in the head in the line of duty in Queens on Saturday — as one of many cops who “do a great job, often with great valor.
“It’s with great regret and sadness that we announce the passing of New York City Police Officer Brian Moore. Shield number 469. New York City police officer, hero of the city, killed in the line of duty,’’ Bratton told reporters outside the hospital.
“In his very brief career, less than five years, he had already proven himself to be an exceptional young officer,’’ Bratton said. “In that career, he had made over 150 arrests, protecting and serving the citizens of this city.
“He had already received two exceptional police service medals and two meritorious police service medals. We don’t give them out easily.”
Brian Moore made all the right choices in his brief life but it was cut short by racial hatred and violence.
And who is fanning the flames of this racial hatred and violence? Oh well – look no further.

Obligatory boilerplate said with little emotion over 7:00 into his speech, after all the shout-outs. Obama has a tendency to speak out of both sides of his mouth in situations like this.

The law is applied evenly. The problem is the law isn’t followed evenly. But a good community organizer knows he needs to “rub raw the resentments of the people.” So that is exactly what this sorry excuse for a president does.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) teams have arrested more than 1,200 people, in an operation targeting international crime syndicates.
This would seem to be a healthy, normal, positive use of government force – targeting criminal gangs and protecting American citizens.
Targeting gangs across the country, teams from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) arrested more than 1,200 people, while seizing weapons and drugs directly used by international crime syndicates.
Members and associates from 239 different gangs were arrested in 282 cities across the U.S. during what’s been called Project Wildfire, a six-week operation that included 215 state, local and federal law enforcement agencies. Already at least 913 people have been charged with criminal offenses as a result of the operation, which began in mid -February. Those arrested include 650 with violent criminal histories, including 19 individuals wanted on active warrants for murder and 15 for rape or sexual assault. There were 200 foreign nationals arrested in the raids.

The operation targeted transnational criminal gangs and others associated with transnational criminal activity.
“We’re looking to prevent, deter and protect communities. The public doesn’t realize what’s happening in a federal investigative agency like HSI and the breath of the investigations that we’re doing. So, with Project Wildfire, we’re looking to take ground information and feed them back into the collective pool… working with our local partners to identify community threats as we look to prevent, deter and protect the homeland,” said Mandoli.
I’m scratching my head, here. In Obama’s post-rational America where good is evil and evil good – where common sense and decency have been completely upended – where the interests of hard-working, law-abiding Americans always come last – this show of government force that actually protects Americans – seems oddly out of character.
