Ralph Peters Is Worried About Obama: ‘My God, We’re in Even Deeper Trouble Than I Thought’

Lt Col Ralph Peters (Ret.) confessed to Bill O’Reilly Monday that he is deeply worried about the state of affairs Obama has put us, calling him the most destructive president since Jefferson Davis.

“Listening to the president presser in Turkey, this morning I thought –  My God, we’re in even deeper trouble than I thought,” Peters said.

“The only president on the American continent who has done more damage was actually Jefferson Davis – the president of the Confederate States of America. Charles [Krauthammer] used the word ‘delusional.’ It is just beyond delusional – this guy is so arrogant – and at the same time so sensitive, he cannot admit that he’s wrong – and boy is he wrong and has been wrong about Islamic terror.”

Peters continued, “Today I listened to him – He reacted as though the massacre in Paris was a kind of political annoyance. The French are in this now. But they can’t do it,  NATO can’t do it, nobody can do it without us and we’re AWOL.”

Peters characterized NATO as “Lady Liberty with some European costume jewelry,” and noted that without America’s leadership “the Europeans can’t even get there.”

“I would welcome a NATO effort,” he said. “But it’s not going to happen because Obama doesn’t want it to.”

Peters added that “one of the reasons I worry so much – is because even if this president somehow, miraculously turned around and gave our generals a one word order – ‘WIN’ – the Pentagon is so infected with PC, [political correctness] it would be a halting effort.”

We all know people of towering arrogance and we all know people of staggering incompetence, but Barack Obama is quite possibly the perfect package. No one on the scene today combines these two qualities in quite the same way as Mr. Obama.

Michael Goodwin, NY Post: Obama’s inaction plants doubt he can keep America safe:

President Obama’s appallingly tepid response to the Paris slaughter makes him an outlier in a world suddenly determined to crush the Islamic State barbarians. In one of the worst appearances ever by an American president during a crisis, Obama, meeting in Turkey with other heads of state, called the atrocity a “setback” and urged patience.

Even after French President François Hollande gave a rousing speech to Parliament, declaring, “We are in a war against jihadist terrorism, which is threatening the whole world,” and urged Obama to join a coordinated effort, the president said no.

“It’s best that we don’t, you know, shoot first and aim later,” Obama said.

So much for solidarity with the French.

WFB: Report: al Qaeda Terrorists Entered United States Through Refugee Program:

Two al Qaeda terrorists who had killedAmerican soldiers were able to enter the country as refugees, according to a reportreleased Wednesday from the House Homeland Security committee.

Waad Ramadan Alwan and Mohanad Shareef Hammadi, two Iraqi refugees settled in Bowling Green, Kentucky, after killing American soldiers, whom they bragged about having “for lunch and dinner.” In 2010, they were caught handling weapons, including included a machine gun and a missile launcher, that they planned to smuggle to insurgents in Iraq.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if there were many more than that,” said Rep. Michael McCaul (R., Texas), the chairman of the House Committee on Homeland Security. “And these are trained terrorists in the art of bombmaking that are inside the United States; and quite frankly, from a homeland security perspective, that really concerns me.”

Weasel Zippers: President Obama Has Threatened To Veto A Bill That Would Intensify Screenings Of Refugees…

Via ABC:

President Barack Obama is vowing to veto a bill from House Republicans that would increase screening for Syrian and Iraqi refugees before they enter the United States.

The White House says the legislation would introduce “unnecessary and impractical requirements” that would harm efforts to assist some of the world’s most vulnerable people.

Judicial Watch: ISIS Terrorist Released in Plea Deal Months Ago in Illinois:

The Paris terrorist attacks bring to mind the frightening case of an Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) operative arrested in Chicago last fall and released earlier this year to serve probation in Illinois for a state crime that secretly drew federal intervention.

His name is Emad Karakrah, the ringleader of a sophisticated narco-terror operation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) facilitated his release from Cook County Jail in January. Judicial Watch uncovered Karakrah’s terrorism record and has reported extensively on his extremist activities, including a 2009 plot to bomb talk-show host Oprah Winfrey’s Chicago studios and the iconic Sears Tower. In late August of last year Karakrah was arrested after leading police on a high-speed chase through Chicago streets as an ISIS flag waved from his car. When Chicago Police finally stopped and arrested Karakrah, he told officers his car was rigged with explosives that would detonate if searched. Bomb disposal units secured the vehicle without incident, but Karakrah’s arrest helped expose a narco-terrorist network with roots and financing in El Paso, Texas.

ABC: Terrorists Once Used Refugee Program to Settle in US:

The 2013 ABC News investigation also revealed that several dozen other suspected terrorist bombmakers, including some who were believed to have targeted U.S. troops, may have mistakenly been allowed to move to the U.S. as Iraq and Afghanistan War refugees, among the tens of thousands of innocent immigrants.

The Obama administration insists now that Syrian refugees are subjected to intense vetting before they’re allowed to settle in the U.S. and that a vast majority of the millions of refugees the U.S. has resettled since the 1970s are normal, peaceful people, but the program has had serious security problems before. In 2009, a flaw in background screening of Iraqi refugees allowed the two al Qaeda-linked terrorists to settle in Bowling Green and led to a temporary suspension of the refugee program, officials told ABC News in a 2013 investigation.

The Daily Mail: America’s ‘enemies within’: How nearly SEVENTY have been arrested in America over ISIS plots in last 18 months – including refugees who had been given safe haven but ‘turned to terror’

US authorities have charged at least 66 men and women with ISIS-related terror plots on American soil – including a handful of refugees, Daily Mail Online can reveal.
The terror group has set its sights on Washington, D.C. as it vows to further infiltrate the West and ramp up its blood-soaked offensive.
Presidents Obama insists that ‘slamming the door’ on Syrian refugees fleeing ISIS would be a betrayal of American values.
But 34 governors are refusing to take in any more, in case jihadi fighters slip into their states and repeat the carnage of Paris.
Analysis by Daily Mail Online reveals that a handful of foiled plots have already involved immigrants accused of harboring sympathy for ISIS.

PJ Media: Headed for U.S., Five Syrians With Doctored Passports Caught in Honduras:

Thanks to Honduran police officers, five Syrian men bearing stolen, doctored Greek passports will not be entering the United States through our southern border. A police spokesman in Tegucigalpa told Reuters Wednesday that they caught the quintet as they were trying to make their way to the United States through Mexico.

The Federalist: This Column Is Exactly What ISIS Wants:

President Obama was in Manila yesterday getting worked up about the only thing that really grinds his gears, the GOP. “I cannot think of a more potent recruitment tool for ISIL than some of the rhetoric that’s been coming out of here,” he said of Republicans, who were demanding a pause in the influx of Syrian refugees.

Oh, c’mon! Not one? I can. In fact, I can think of a bunch, because ever since Paris was attacked by a group of religiously unaffiliated men who happened to also yell “Allahu Akbar!” before randomly shooting civilians, liberals have offered an array of conceivable causes for the proliferation of terrorism. There’s Republican rhetoric, of course. Climate change. People drawing mean cartoons about Islam. Blowback for various wars Americans have started without any provocation whatsoever.

The problem is that no matter what the GOP says these days it is “doing exactly what ISIS wants” — the most popular platitude this side of ‘those Syrian refugees are just like Baby Jesus.’

Walter Russel Mead, The American Interest: President Obama’s Cynical Refugee Ploy:

Obama’s own policy decisions—allowing Assad to convert peaceful demonstrations into an increasingly ugly civil war, refusing to declare safe havens and no fly zones—were instrumental in creating the Syrian refugee crisis. This crisis is in large part the direct consequence of President Obama’s decision to stand aside and watch Syria burn. For him to try and use a derisory and symbolic program to allow 10,000 refugees into the United States in order to posture as more caring than those evil Jacksonian rednecks out in the benighted sticks is one of the most cynical, cold-blooded, and nastily divisive moves an American President has made in a long time.

Ralph Peters: Obama Hates America, Doesn’t Care About American Casualties or Defeating ISIS

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters was on the O’Reilly Factor Thursday night to discuss the low marks the American people are giving President Selfie-Stick on foreign policy.

A new AP poll shows that 61% of the us disapprove of the way Ovomit is handling ISIS. 58% disapprove of the way he is handling foreign affairs. Although I would think a healthy and sane country would disapprove of such an obviously incompetent and corrupt boob in even higher numbers, (in the 90%-95% range) O’Reilly seemed to think 58% and 61% were significant.

He began by asking Peters if he thought it was an ISIS bomb that blew up the Russian plane over Egypt. Peters responded without hesitation, “Yes.”

He said that although there was still an outside possibility that there had been a technical issue, the circumstantial evidence seemed to indicate a bomb.

“The terrorists in the case got a three-for, Bill,” said Peters. “They got to derail Putin’s narrative and really, really embarrass him. They got to humiliate President al Sisi of Egypt – who has really cracked down on Islamic extremism, and they whacked – just about destroyed –  the Egyptian tourist industry which is 11% of their GDP.”

“President Obama’s response to ISIS is to send 50 Special Forces troops into Syria,” O’Reilly said rolling his eyes. “Fifty. 5-0. And I’m saying to myself – it’s almost like MAD Magazine’s foreign policy. I mean – 50???” He asked Peters, “does he not want to defeat them?

“That’s not a rhetorical question,” Peters answered. “No, he does not care about defeating them. He cares about making it to the end of his term without another major disaster that can be blamed on him. And that is it!”

“Why send anybody then?” O’Reilly wondered.

“Because it’s getting worse and worse and worse and he’s trying to do the absolute minimum to stave off an open catastrophe.”

O’Reilly wasn’t satisfied with Peters’ explanation.

“If you send no one, there’s no story because he’s already  not done much,” he argued.. “If he sends fifty – then that gets people like you and me going, ‘what???’ Fifty? That doesn’t even give our Special Forces enough power to protect themselves.”
“Stop thinking rationally! It does not work with the Obama White House!” Peters exclaimed. “That inner cabal that knows nothing about history, nothing about military affairs, denies that Islamic extremism has anything to do with Islam, they live in a fantasy world, in that fantasy world where they don’t take military advice – they just chatter to each other.”

Peters added that, “it will make a very local, tactical difference. It will not make a decisive difference – not a strategic difference.”

O’Reilly noted that putting a mere fifty troops in Syria is putting them in harm’s way for nothing…

Peters interjected, “do you think the president cares about that?!”

He continued, “Bill, we have a president whose vision of the world has been, remains and will remain divorced from reality.”

“He hates America,” Peters continued. “Despises it and doesn’t want to do what it takes to defeat ISIS.”

“The American people are not tired of war, they’re tired of losing!” Peters concluded.  “They’re tired of seeing their sons and daughters killed and maimed for the vanity of an inept and ineffective and cowardly president.”

Ralph Peters: “Obama’s Crawling Away From the Middle East Like a Crippled Hamster”

Ralph Peters had some choice words for the president in reaction to his surreal 60 Minutes interview that aired Sunday.

In case you missed it, Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft that Putin’s incursions into Syria are a sign of weakness – not a sign of leadership.

Obama boasted that real leadership is pushing for a climate change treaty and brokering a nuke deal with Iran (that has already been violated.)

“He’s chasing unicorns,” Peters said. “The president refuses to understand Putin.” He added that Obama also doesn’t understand the Russians, warfare, and the Islamic State. “He lives in this little bubble of unreality,” he declared.

Peters took issue with Fox News foreign policy analyst KT McFarlane’s contention that Obama was “walking away from the Middle East.”

“Obama is crawling away from the Middle East like a …crippled hamster,” he corrected.

Ralph Peters: Obama’s ‘Cognitive Dissonance’ Preventing Him From Dealing Effectively With ISIS

Lt. Col. Ralph Peters was on the O’Reilly Factor, Tuesday night to talk about Obama’s latest bland and stupid mutterings on ISIS (or ISIL as he insists on calling them.)

“No amount of military force will end the terror that is ISIL,” Obama lectured, frequently looking down at his notes because TOTUS was apparently in the shop.

“He’s right about one thing,” Peters said after listening to the clip.  “There are underlying problems which, as you pointed out, we can’t fix. And the underlying problems are the collapse of the civilization. We can’t do anything about that. What we can do – is go after our enemies. He knows how many foreign fighters are flocking to their standards.

Peters noted that Obama gets high level briefings – ‘”above top secret” – every day.

“He knows how serious Islamic State is. He knows how deep the caliphate’s roots are going. He knows how many sympathizers there are. But he’s got a problem – it’s cognitive dissonance – he knows there’s a problem – but he can’t bring himself to accept that there’s only a military solution and we have two thousand years of evidence of religious insurgencies in every major religion. None has been put down with empathy, aid, and negotiations. You can’t negotiate with cobras.”

Worrying that ISIS could take very well take Damascus, Peters said,  “the military can’t be a Pollyanna like Obama is. You’ve got to prepare for the worst thing that could conceivably happen…”

“The American people are willing to vote for a Pollyanna, these days, Ralph,” O’Reilly interrupted.

And he’s right. We get the leaders we deserve, and though it’s hard to conceive of anybody worse than Obama – the American voter will likely continue their appalling lack of common sense, decency and judgement in 2016.

Video: Ralph Peters Blasts Obama’s “False Humanitarianism” In Iraq

Lt. Col Ralph Peters (ret) appeared on Fox News, this morning to talk about the lackluster U.S. air campaign in Iraq – where 75% of our pilots are returning to base without dropping any ordnance at all due to the delays in decision-making process.

Last week, a former U.S. Air Force general who has led air campaigns over Iraq and Afghanistan, placed the blame for the failure right on the White House front steps. Due to Obama’s micromanagement the campaign, the process for ordering strikes has been so slow that the enemy is frequently allowed to escape.

“You’re talking about hours in some cases, which by that time the particular tactical target left the area and or the aircraft has run out of fuel. These are excessive procedures that are handing our adversary an advantage,” said retired Lt. Gen. David Deptula, a former director of the Combined Air Operations Center in Afghanistan in 2001.

“The ultimate guidance rests in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue,” he said. “We have been applying air power like a rain shower or a drizzle — for it to be effective, it needs to be applied like a thunderstorm.”

“It’s false humanitarianism,” Peters told Bill Hemmer on America’s Newsroom. “Let’s apply simple logic. In our refusal to accept hundreds of civilian deaths in Syria and Iraq in air strikes, we condemn millions of people in the Middle East to live under the tyranny of the Islamic State.”

“Warfare will never be perfectly clean,” Peters continued. “Now, we had a problem with over-worrying about civilian casualties in the Bush administration – but it’s become a mania with the Obama administration.”

“You heard Josh Earnest talking about two civilian casualties in November – and suddenly we have to put the breaks on our airstrikes? Against a ruthless, fanatical, uncompromising enemy like the Islamic State militants? – If you elevate worries about civilian deaths and casualties above the will to win, you will lose – and we are losing,” Peters said.

Ralph Peters: Release of Bin Laden Docs Timed To Divert Attention From Ramadi Embarrassment

Fox News had strategic analyst Lt. Col. Ralph Peters (ret) on Wednesday to discuss the release of the hundreds of documents that were found during the Osama bin Laden raid in April of 2011.

Bill Hemmer asked Peters what he thought about the docs – specifically the revelations that OBL was interested in “large scale terror operations” and his “stunned” reaction to the Arab Spring.

“First glance at this Col, what do you see?” Hemmer asked.

Peters was ready with his answer – not that it was what Hemmer had in mind: “What I see is an attempt by the administration to divert our attention from the fall of Ramadi. Do you think it’s an accident that these documents are suddenly dumped on us when the administration is horribly embarrassed by having claimed Islamic State is on the defensive? … Look at the timing.”

He added, “they’re reverting to their one foreign policy win in six-and-a-half years.” (A foreign policy win Obama had to be dragged into against his will after months of indecision and delays, I might add.)

“You know what our one success has been, Bill?” Peters continued.  “We’ve Been very successful at arming Islamic State. Because we give the weapons to the Iraqi government, they give them to their troops, and the troops run away. I mean – look at the vehicles Islamic State is driving. Look at their weapons. That’s US equipment.”

Jordan Matson, a 28 year old Iraq War vet from Wisconsin who is in Northern Syria fighting ISIS with the Kurds, concurred on Facebook:

Geez Iraqi Army.

why dont you just give us your weapons as well if your going to constantly flee and even leave your tanks for ISIS. Another reason the United States should be arming ALL the kurds directly.

Remember how the moonbat left use to “question the timing” every time the Bush administration made a move about anything? It got to be like political Tourette’s Syndrome and we on the right would laugh at the unhinged accusations because they always seemed so random and ridiculous.

The left exposes their own modus operandi by accusing the right of engaging in the type of nefarious schemes they engage in.  Like sociopaths, they’ll always accuse you of doing the very thing that they are guilty of themselves. They do this to deflect attention away from themselves.

We saw this sick projection all throughout the Bush years (but most of us didn’t recognize it as projection at the time).

Remember how they kept accusing the right of questioning their patriotism? It was not just Hillary Clinton in her famous “I’m sick and tired” tirade. Over and over different members of the left accused conservatives of questioning their patriotism for opposing the Iraq War. But as I’ve noted in the past, that simply didn’t happen. I found it very puzzling at the time.

The left was doing two things.

1. Projecting – They were letting us know what they would do if they were in the same position – because as soon as a Democrat was back in the White House, there was a conga-line of Democrats accusing their political opponents of being unpatriotic, unAmerican, and treasonous for opposing Obama. Often in the crudest manner possible. That totally DID happen – and continues to happen.

2. Distracting – Diverting attention away from the fact that their position on the Iraq war was indeed grossly cynical and political. In a word – unpatriotic.  (Robert Gates would go on write in his memoir that Hillary laughingly admitted to him that her opposition to the surge was pure politics.)

We constantly see the worst things they accused Bush of doing, being played out by their Alinsky-trained ringer in the White House.
