Islam v.s.Valentine’s Day

Islamists do not ♥ Valentine’s Day. Islamists do not approve of romantic love.

Don’t believe me?:

Islam teaches us to be truthful and realistic. Usually, we love because of Allah and we hate because of Allah. Islam teaches us that a male and female can build up a good relationship founded on marriage. All those stories of media and movies are not helpful to make a person comply with the teachings of Islam.

We do not say love is halal or haram because it is a feeling. Maybe it is not under control. You can judge what is under control. But people who fall in love are in many episodes away from the cleansed and pure atmosphere.

Marriages that are usually good and lasting marriages are those that start at the least affection. That affection grows after marriage and maybe it will grow until the couples continue their companionship at the Jannah.

That’s why Valentine’s makes so many Islamists insanely angry, and judging from some of the pictures making the rounds this year, the fires of rage are burning as hot as ever. (Picture courtesy of Snapped Shot).

Here is the Islamic ruling on Valentine’s Day according to Contact Pakistan.com.:

Question: In recent times, celebration of the Valentine Day has spread,
particularly among female students. It is a Christian celebration, and it is

(manifested) with fully red costumes, clothing and shoes, and exchange of
red roses. We hope that you make clear for us the ruling on celebrating this

holiday, and what your guidance is to Muslims in matters such as these, may
Allah preserve you and guard you.

Answer: In the Name of Allah the Most Merciful the Most Beneficent As-Salamu

`alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh:

Celebrating the Valentine Day is not permissible because:

Firstly, it is an innovated holiday that has no basis in the Sharee`ah.
Secondly, it calls to love and passion.
Thirdly, it calls to keeping one’s heart busy with nonsense matters which
contradict the guidance of the righteous predecessors, may Allah be pleased
with them.

So it is not permissible that anything from the signs of that holiday takes
place on that day, whether it relates to eating, drinking, clothing, giving
gifts, or other than that.

It is incumbent upon the Muslim to be proud of his religion and that he does

not blindly follow every crier.

I ask Allah the Exalted that He protect Muslims from every trial, apparent
and hidden, and that He give them protection and guidance.

Here’s a long winded dissertation on Valentine’s Day brought to you by an Imam (authority on all things, including Hallmark holidays):

I think what it all really comes down to is they’re too cheap to buy a dozen roses for their sweeties.

Cindy Sheehan In Egypt Protesting On Behalf Of Muslim Brotherhood

If this don’t beat all! Now she’s gallivanting halfway across the world to support terrorists in their own countries! I guess that’s preferable to her doing from here. Sheehan ought to invest in some pink burqas and stay awhile.

The case of the 40 members of the Muslim Brotherhood who were arrested in Egypt, last December on terrorism charges, was picked up by Human Rights Watch, who  posted this on their website:

Security forces originally arrested Khairat al-Shatir, deputy supreme guide of the Muslim Brotherhood, and 16 other prominent members of the organization in simultaneous predawn raids on December 14, along with more than 140 students from Al-Azhar University, and later charged them with supplying the students with combat training, knives, and chains. On January 29, a Cairo criminal court judge dismissed all charges against al-Shatir and his co-defendants and ordered their immediate release. The judge in his ruling specifically called on the government to respect his decision. The government ignored the judge’s order. Moments after their acquittal, al-Shatir and 15 other senior members were re-arrested by the police. On February 6, President Hosni Mubarak, acting in his capacity as commander of the military, transferred their cases and those of 24 other Muslim Brotherhood members to a military tribunal.

“Re-arresting these men moments after their acquittal shows a complete contempt for the rule of law and shocking disrespect for the court,” said Sarah Leah Whitson, Middle East director at Human Rights Watch. “This escalation in the crackdown on the Muslim Brotherhood has worrying implications for anyone who peacefully campaigns for change.”

Enter Mother Sheehan, her heart bleeding for these poor misunderstood terrorists young men. Apparently feeling if she could only pour her heart out to Mrs. Mubarak in a letter, (posted at the Muslim Brotherhood Official English website) she could be an instrument for justice:

To: Egypt”s First Lady Susan Mubarak

Dear Mrs, Suzanne Murbarak,
My name is Cindy Sheehan, I am a human rights and
peace activist from the U.S. In April of 2004 my
oldest son Casey was killed in Iraq, while serving in
the U.S. army he was sent to fight the illegal and
immoral U.S. occupation of Iraq and was murdered in a
battle in Sadr City. Since his death I have worked
hard seeking justice for the victims of the
occupation, both American and Iraqi, because I believe
that they have all died for lies of the American
government.

Through my work on this issue I have become an
advocate for human rights violations all over the
world. I am sad to say that my first visit to your
beautiful country of Egypt brings me here under this
guise to appeal for fair and just treatment for the
forty members of the Muslim Brotherhood, all civilian,
who are being tried through a military tribunal. As I
understand it this process is illegal both under
Egyptian law and International law and since the
defendants have all been found innocent on four
different occasions in civilian courts, I can only
conclude that the Egyptian government is trying them
in a military tribunal as a last resort to guarantee a
guilty verdict.

In addition to this being an unfair practice to the
defendants, it is also unfair to their families and
places a great burden on them. I have spent time
during my visit getting to know some of the wives and
children of detainees and have heard heart breakings
stories of how they have been tormented because of
this matter; many of them have been deprived of
personal funds and possessions and it has been very
difficult for them to support their basic needs. The
children have been deeply traumatized by seeing their
fathers violently arrested without cause or
provocation. The detainees have suffered a great deal
while in jail, some have been denied access to proper
health care causing serious medical conditions.

I am writing this appeal to you to join me the fight
for human rights; as the First Lady of Egypt, wife to
President Mubarak and Chairwoman for the National
Council of Women and Children you are in a unique
position to be a shining example of justice by
speaking out against these grave violations. On behalf
of the families and detainees I am asking that sign
onto our call for justice with these demands:

1)Support from the National Council of Women and
Children for the families who have been financially
and emotionally affected by the illegal detainment of
the Muslim Brotherhood.

2)Protest of any further financial or physical harm
against the wives and children of these political
prisoners.

3)Calling for the return of the personal belongings
(including money and jewelry) of the families involved
that were taken by force and without warrant by the
police officers during the home-raids and arrests of
the detainees.

Thank you for your consideration in this important
matter, inshallah we will work together for a peaceful
and just resolution for the betterment of humanity.

Sincerely,
Cindy Sheehan

Sheehan, as always, is in way over her head. She would be better served here in the states taking part in one of the many “Kiss ins” at military recruitment centers Code Pink has planned this Valentine’s Day.

It’s important to note that the Muslim brotherhood was banned in Egypt in 1954, and partially reaccepted as a religious organization in 1984. I understand the Egyptian government keeps a close eye on them.

FrontPageMag:

The Brotherhood is an expansive and secretive society with followers in more than 70 countries, dedicated to creating a global Islamic order that would isolate women and punish nonbelievers. Its members and supporters founded al Qaeda, as well as one “of the largest college student groups in the United States.”

The Muslim Brotherhood has historically and continues to actively pursue the establishment of a Muslim regime that will serve as the basis to re-establish the Caliphate, not only by defending violence against civilians, The current leader of the international Muslim Brotherhood, Mohammad Mahdi Akef,[7] “recently issued a new strategy calling on all its member organizations to serve its global agenda of defeating the West. He called on individual members of the Muslim Brotherhood worldwide to not only join the “resistance” to the U.S. financially, but also through active participation.”[8] In the MB Project (1982), Point of Departure[9] instructs members,” To use diverse and varied surveillance systems, in several places, to gather information and adopt a single effective warning system serving the worldwide Islamic movement. In fact, surveillance, policy decisions and effective communications complement each other.”
