Obama Team Claims They’re Winning The Religious Vote

This is from CBN News. And it’s bad news for John McCain:

The Brody File has received a document from Barack Obama’s religious outreach team showing statistics that they say prove Obama is a hit with religious voters.

The document rattles off exit poll numbers state by state suggesting that he has a “broad appeal whether voters attend church weekly or occasionally” and he, “appeals to people across faith and belief lines: Christian and Jewish; Protestant and Catholic.”

Some of their stats:

New Hampshire

37 % of those who attend church weekly voted for Obama (32% HRC)

South Carolina
64% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (23% HRC)
Alabama
61% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (36% HRC)
Georgia:
69% of those who attend church more than weekly voted for Obama (29% HRC)
71% of those who attend church monthly voted for Obama (29% HRC)

Missouri59% of those who attend church weekly voted for Obama (40% HRC)

Etc. Etc.Etc….you get the idea. David Brody says:

Obama may be more liberal than John McCain but he enjoys talking about his faith in Jesus Christ. That is a big deal to some and this is a storyline that will be a big deal as time goes on.

There is an antidote for this. It’s called information. Information these church going folks may not know…… like for instance, Obama’s extreme and grotesque voting record on abortion.
McCain needs to hit Obama with this, and hit him hard. McCain has nothing to be ashamed of, here:
Though the Arizona senator and all-but-certain Republican presidential nominee doesn’t detail his voting record on the campaign trail, an examination reveals a striking opposition to abortion in most of the major fights such as partial-birth abortion down to the smallest of skirmishes, even when he was in a distinct minority.
So there’s that.
And then there’s his Socialistic leanings. The last time I checked, Socialism was an atheistic doctrine. …How about introducing us to his pastor, whose Trinity United Church of Christ chose to honor Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan with an award, last year.
I wonder what most Evangelicals will think of that when they hear it?
I think this may be a case of the voting public not yet knowing everything they need to know about the candidate. That’s why McCain will have to at some point start educating people with some hard hitting campaign ads.
I don’t care what the pollsters say…he’s going to have to go negative.

Actually Socialism is supposed to be tolerant and neutral toward religion, but its dedication to the state always evolves into condemnation of anything other than the God of Government. Socialism was a tool to stave off the encroachment and enticing promises of communism in Europe.

Socialism fits well in the Middle East along side of Islam strictly as a selling point and reflection of their solidarity with the concepts of National Socialism aka the Nazi Party.

Unknown to many, Obama’s namesake, Saddam Hussein, was a member of the Baath Party. It’s real name is: The Arab Baath Socialist Party. Also the predominate party of Syria.

This explains exactly why our Democrat leadership has attempted to thwart any success what so ever in the Middle East. It also explains the treasonous trips to Syria by Pleosi and others attempting to forge alliances contrary to American policy and interest.

  2. Yes, and I forgot about “Liberation theology”, which is a Marxist ideology.

Marx believed that “problems in religion are ultimately problems in society. Religion is not the disease, but merely a symptom. It is used by oppressors to make people feel better about the distress they experience due to being poor and exploited”.

Religion is the “opiate of the masses”, in other words.

It’s sickening to me that many religious people can be drawn to socialism as an answer to society’s problems.

But you’re right that historically Socialism is more tolerant of religion than Communism. But like you said…it tends to lead to “condemnation of anything other than the God of Government”.
