The Issue That Could Hurt Obama The Most With Libs

No, it’s not his past associations with Reverend Wright, Father Pfleger, William Ayers, and now convicted criminal, Tony Rezko.

It’s certainly not the support and endorsements he gets from known Communists, Socialists, Marxists, terrorists, and radicals.

It’s not that he has a tendency to be less than honest, and commit embarrassing gaffes.

It’s not that he is what John Bolton describes as “breathtakingly naive” when it comes to foreign policy.

And it’s not the Michelle “railing against whitey” tape.

Oh no…those things are all fine and dandy with the liberal voter.

But what about THIS:

That’s right…he’s a {{{{{SMOKAH}}}}}

Here, an Orlando Sentinel writer asks: Why would a high ranking public official be smoking in the first place?

It’s an unsurmountable problem for this Huffpo blogger:

Obama is trying to quit, but until he does, I have a problem with him lighting up.

The issue for me is that here is a guy while professes that we should respect the third world and its citizens, his smoking habit directly feeds the marketing and distribution engines of tobacco companies that have much if not most of the same Third World hooked. These companies are viciously aggressive in promoting their poison. Look at the billboards, and then see crowds with cancer sticks in their mouths.

The habits of our domestic smokers like Obama fatten the coffers of these tobacco companies. And then, these tobacco companies come right back and joust for position inside the mouths and lungs of Third Worlders.

Yeah. How can we expect Obama to stand up to the world’s dictators when he can’t even take a stand against the evil tobacco companies?

TMZ notes:

While Barack allegedly quit smoking back in February 2007, ABC News Correspondent Jake Tapper says he ran into the Illinois senator in August when he “reeked of cigarettes.” Obama did inhale! Obama even admitted he “fell off the wagon” on last night’s “Hardball.”

Never mind Obama’s lack of judgment when it comes to choosing friends. What about his complete lack of judgment when it comes to his own health?

Salon Magazine asks plaintively, Would You Vote For A Smoker? And shares this interesting statistic:

There are, according to one poll, a surprising number of Americans who care whether their president smokes. In a 2007 poll conducted jointly by the Washington Post and ABC News, 21 percent of respondents said they would be less likely to vote for a given candidate for president solely because that candidate smoked.

Here’s {{{fair and balanced???}}} Fox News covering Obama’s dreadful smoking habit, (and a few other things):

But one Obommunist at Slate was able to put a happy face on Obama’s smoking:

Sen. Barack Obama has the sort of voice that political consultants dream of: It’s authoritative but comforting, rich and resonant and wise. Whether he’s talking about the Darfur genocide or Monday Night Football, the man sounds like a leader. His voice helps account for why even hardened cynics go weak at the knees when they hear him. One of my friends prides himself on being strictly nonpartisan, but after listening to Obama’s Dreams From My Father, read by the senator himself, he confessed to me, “I shouldn’t say this, but I love him.”

There are plenty of reasons for Obama’s magic voice: where he grew up, how his parents talked, how he breathes. But perhaps most important is one Obama doesn’t want to talk about: cigarettes. Obama is an occasional smoker.

Smoking over time transforms a person’s voice by thickening and drying out the vocal chords. The vocal chords vibrate as your breath passes through them, so their texture and shape helps determine what your voice sounds like.

So the secret to Obama’s success, according to this woman is his smoking?

Racist!

  2. Of course, you haven’t heard Obama say he’s going to raise cigarette taxes…so maybe that is a plus for him and all the tobacco smokers of the world. Of course, smoking is the greatest of all EVIIIILS. Maybe THAT is one tax he might lower.

  3. Also, if Obama is having so much trouble quitting cigarettes, perhaps he is more than JUST an OCCASIONAL smoker. My guess is that he is a BIG, albeit CLOSET, smoker… Shame, shame, shame!

  4. On the other hand, look at how much extra tobacco tax he’s paying. I’d love to see him point that out some morning when he’s having a waffle and a smoke.

  5. Thank you Deb for not chop-shopping the Obama with a cig image I pho-shopped as another site did. They used it as their own and “cropped” out my URL. Lame, really lame.
